Carino's Italian

My husband and I came to eat here when they first open and they were fine. We went there recently for a little date night away from the kids and the food was HORRIBLE. They didn't thoroughly cook our food, the waitress acted like she wanted to be anywhere but work and rolled her eyes a lot, and I thought I was going to have to shoot a flare gun to get her attention for refills on our drinks. On Sunday Sept 7 2008 my friend and I stopped there for an early dinner. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Romano. When it was served to me I noticed there was no more than two little slices of chicken in the dish. My friend told the waitress. \r She said she told her manager and he was imforming the kitchen there was a problem. I was hungry and I and my friend finished our meals. At the end of the meal the manager came over to our table. We imformed him the meal was more of a veggie dish than a chicken dish. I told him it was good but not as it should have been. My friend asked for an adjustment to the price. He was about to sugguest $3.00 off but the manager said he would not give us anything because the food was eaten and I should have told him sooner. I told him I had told the waitress but he was very rude and we did not want to make a production. We imformed him we would never be back. This was our third visit and it would be our last. As I was leaving the people at the table next to ours pulled me over to tell me thay had the same problem.. .one of their party had a dish that was not as listed on the menue and was very lacking in taste.I asked if she got an adjustment but she said no and she had her food still on her plate. I explained we had been there before and the first time we had bad service. we tried them a second time a few weeks ago and all was fine, so we came back. He said he had the same experience...came once it was bad came again and had a manger tell him he was there for a few weeks to turn things around. He stated they needed to bring that manager back because he too would never set foot in the place again. I have eaten at the location in Charlotte and have enjoyed. Myself and a few friends thought we would take another friend out to enjoy dinner for her birthday. Our server never gave his name. There was a total party of six, four people had to order something else or were given the wrong food. I ordered shrimp scampi over angel hair. I was brought spaghetti noodles with a couple of shrimp on top of it, without the cream sauce. I inquired about this and the waiter said that he had forgotten they were out of angel hair. Never gave me the option to choose if I still wanted that selection. One friend ordered skilletini and was brought the spicy shrimp and chicken. After a long time, that was corrected but the skilletini was overcooked, charred beyond reasonably.Another member of my party asked for suggestions for a good dish without pork, the waiter suggested the spicy shrimp and chicken. And after a bite or two, she realized there wre small pieces of bacon throughout the dish. We brought this to our servers attention who said he realized after checking that the sauce contains bacon (which was contradicted by the manager who said it was not). We also sent this meal back and requested the same dish with a cream sauce that contained no pork. After waiting, another dish was brought out, and unfortunately after a couple of bites she realized the dish still had numerous pieces of bacon. The waiter offered no compensation, didnt really seem to care that our dining experience was not a pleasant one. Carrino's is one of my favorite Italian grills but the service received tonight has really left a bad taste in my mouth. And it is questionable if I will return. Service was slow, there were only a couple of other diners there, so no reason for our waiter to have a problem serving us promptly. Had to ask for add'l napkins three times before he remembered, didnt get our first refills until we were done eating. Pros: parking, very good appetizers Cons: poor service, unattentive waiters more

I was reluctant to try ""country italian"" but boy was I missing out! Husband and I both ordered drinks, he the margarita and I the bellini...delicious!!! Both were out of this world!
