First of all: Cash only. If you're car gets towed by Cedar Towing, get ready to pull money out of two separate bank accounts (unless you have a high withdrawal limit).
I used to think the city charge for towing was steep ($125), but that was before I had been towed by Cedar Towing. $250.10. Yes, and 10 cents. What could they do with all of that money, I wonder? Maybe, as the last commenter suggested, give me a buff and a carwash? Who knows.
I happened to get towed INSIDE of a paid parking lot (Mill District Municipal Parking), because there were spaces reserved for the apartment building with unassuming signs by Cedar Towing. So, I paid for my parking space, then paid for my taxi to the tow lot, then paid to get the car out.
I can't imagine these people are happy, or excited by life. The guy behind the counter was one of the most pathetic and unhappy looking people I've ever encountered in my life. I won't go into a description, lest I insult other people who match the description; but let's just say he wasn't familiar with subtler virtues of living. I could also tell he probably expected me to bitch him out when he casually said, ""$250, cash only."" After my double take, I saw the atm shoved in the corner I was practically leaning against. It felt like fast food, for car towing.
Anyway, if you own a lot, or parking spaces, don't use these guys. They're crooks. You know that, I know that, don't be a douche.
