CBI Security

CBI is the absolute worst security company I have ever seen. For those outside of the security industry that don't know this, that's saying a lot. more

For armed work, they pay low. The area supervisor I worked for believed incorrectly that you're on call 24/7 because you're an armed guard. He would actually try to punish you somehow if you didn't answer his phone calls on your day off. I guess someone really wants to be something more then they are and like a lot of other people have said, the management and HR are lackluster at best. more

The north area supervisor is a ridiculous poser that has cost CBI several good employees, yet, they seem to do everything they can for him to continue on his path of incompetence. Report something he does wrong to HR, they will do nothing and the same goes for management. CBI's poor choices are why they're losing so much ground in the SLC area and Utah in general. They don't seem to get it though, so, good riddance. To the few employees left, abandon ship. There are other companies out there that won't treat you like garbage while telling you that you're family to them. Good luck. more

Get off this sinking ship fast. They have no sites, no HR and no leadership that's worth anything. Yet, they still treat employees that seek better employment options as "disloyal", or, "traitors". They expect blind loyalty from you but will show none in return. Seriously, you're better off working in fast food and you'll probably get paid more as well. more

There isn't too much I can say that hasn't already been said on this site. All the negative reviews you see are true. They're not exaggerated either. I almost want to say, work here so you can see for yourself, but, why waste your time with such a horrible company? more

Management is the first, ever present and most prominent problem with this company. The HR department is also a crapfest of ineptitude that doesn't do a thing aside from taking up a seat with their collective backsides. more

One supervisor in particular likes the phrase, "In my experience.", when it comes to dangerous situations, military or law enforcement. The problem with this is that with a bit of digging, you realize he has no experience, is not a veteran of any branch and has never worked as a police officer either. This company really seems to attract these guys in droves and even promotes them. If someone from CBI claims they are a former, anything, ask for a DD214 or any kind of proof and watch them melt. more

I just wanted to clear something up. On other review sites, there are a couple of reviews claiming that working with CBI is a way to get your foot in the door for law enforcement jobs. This is completely false. CBI does not work with or for any actual law enforcement agencies in any way, shape or form. more

Unfortunately, they do have some nice sites and some good people working for them. Their management however, is totally lacking in morals and ethics and their HR department is useless. more

No other security company I've worked for is this inept. I honestly don't know how they stay open. more

Told me in the interview i was gonna get one rate and when I got my paycheck it was another. These guys can't their story straight either. I tried several times to call them to work it out and they never returned my calls. more

One star isn't low enough. Seek your security needs from a real company. more

The North area "boss", is a walking heart attack waiting to happen. He's in such poor physical condition, it's an embarrassment having him as not only a representative of the company but as management to boot. Now, add to that that he's a complete poser and it paints quite the picture. This is the standard of the so called, "best security company in Utah"? What an absolute joke. more

Some people are full of it and then there's CBI. They take BS to a whole new level. Filled with pogs, wannabes and flat out frauds, keep away from these walking jokes. more

If you have ever served in the military, you know what a blue falcon is. This company is full of them and they're all in management. more

If HR, pay, and respect are worth something to you, don't work here. more

Case 1. An individual interviewed for this company and was hired, on the spot. He put in his two week notice with his old job, scrounged up money for all the equipment he would need as an armed guard, which was a substantial amount, did the training, paid the licensing fees and after all that was told by the company, sorry, we don't have anywhere to put you. Case 2. An employee got threatened with write ups by an area supervisor for attempting to call off work. The supervisor claimed it was company policy. The employee had missed only one day before that point in his entire time with the company. Case 3. While reporting an issue to the HR department about a problematic supervisor, the HR rep, instead of investigating the situation, immediately told the supervisor and tried to talk the employee into dropping the complaints. Case 4. The supervisor from case 3, began cutting hours to the employee that complained about him whenever he could attempt to justify that it was not just in retaliation and even pulled that employee from a site claiming it was the client that requested it despite that being proven untrue. This supervisor not only still works for CBI but was awarded supervisor of the month recently despite several more incidents like these. Case 5. An employee merely mentions that he's going to interview with a different company and was berated for his disloyalty and taken off the schedule. These are just things I've seen personally. I've heard many more things that I didn't include because they were told to me secondhand. CBI is just not worth the time or effort with low pay to boot. Even armed makes only 10 dollars an hour. Seek security work elsewhere. more

This company being allowed to go on is a testament to the complete lack of oversight security companies are given in the state of utah. more

This company has such a high concentration of wannabes, it makes working for them embarrassing. Management and HR are also terrible. One supervisor tries so hard to be "tacticool", despite a complete lack of training and experience. He talks like he's a former navy seal and yet, he has no military or law enforcement background to speak of. It's sad to see that other supervisors and members of management are like this as well. There are very few legit guys in this company despite what they might tell you. more

I hired this company to fulfill a contract and they lasted about two months before I had had enough of them. I am a very unsatisfied customer and I would recommend that you seek any security needs elsewhere. more
