Banajara Cuisine of India 2/7/2007

Banjara has gone out of business. The owners of the neighboring restaurant bought the space and are building a new one there. If you are craving north Indian food and are in Queen Anne, you can head down the hill to Roti in Uptown. Actually, Banjara was started by an Indian man named David, who sold Banjara years ago and opened Roti. more

I expected more... 11/29/2006

I went to Banjara on Saturday noon for lunch buffet with my family. We were the only diners there and the buffet items were very limited. The naan was cold and the tandoori chicken was dry. There were only 6-7 options to choose from, including the salad and the rice pudding. I expected more from my previous indian buffet experience. (We used to go to a nice indian restaurant in OR and they serve around 12 fresh dishes buffet including lambs for $7.95. yummy) Anyway, I wish they could serve more dishes and keep the food warmer. more

webster's definition of banjara = "yum" 3/16/2006

i've been going to banjara for years and have never had anything but a delicious meal there. the waitstaff is nice, if not a tad slow on occasion. but the food - oh my! i love their aloo saag and saag paneer. their spinach naan is to die for, as is the chicken tikka masala. they have great lunch specials too - a main dish plus rice plus salad plus raita plus more that i can't remember, and all for $7.95. parking is much easier than near chutney's, they are less expensive, and much nicer. great for take-out as well more

Friendly restaurant, delicious food 8/17/2005

For years I heard that Seattle's best Indian restaurant was Chutneys. So I went there, faithfully, until I tried Banjara. Their food is quite delicious, and their wait staff is friendly. They know my children's names, which is probably due to how much rice the girls tend to drop on the floor. But the staff never makes us feel unwelcome, and we go quite often. Recommended: the samosas, the saag paneer and the fish in that honey sauce (I can't remember the name). more
