Here ye, here ye:
I’m a sucker for neighborhood institutions; 50% because my parents met at a post-work local pub, 40% because I watched too much 'Cheers', and 10% because I’m lazy. Ok, 90% because I’m lazy. But there’s something to be said about a standard, friendly neighborhood bar…which I believe describes the Roanoke to a T.
From the welcoming Ivy covering the outside entrance to the sweet stench of regulars inside; it’s comfort and coziness from start to finish. They’ve got decent bar food made with love and a friendly staff. Typical beer selection and prices, but most importantly they've got heart.
Plus, you can call it ‘The Noke’. Because ‘The Roanoke’ takes too long to say.
