THEY ARE OPEN MONDAYS! Citysearch says they are always closed Mondays which is false. Great pizza, great service, go on Mondays. The server has a rockin' ass, and he is full of charm too. I want to have his babies. more

WORST SERVICE EVER 2/15/2009

This place has the rudest staff I have ever met. I was told to come here because the staff knows sign language. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE in the place knew how to sign. If you speak spanish you have a better chance of being able to order. Their thick accents make it hard to understand anything. The waitress told me she was ""busy"" and proceeded to walk away from me. COME ON NOW. There are 12 tables in that cramped area and at least 3 waiters/waitresses. People were packed together next to people they weren't eating with. I wanted to order take out. SO I sat there for about 10 minutes without one person asking us if we were ready to order. After that, I had had enough so we left. I called and asked to talk to the manager and low and behold, the waitress that was rude to me earlier WAS IN FACT the manager. If your own MANAGER has no PR skills, then I suggest its time for new management. This honestly was the worst place I have ever been to. I suggest pizza hut next time. Cons: Manager and staff, cramped seating more

Best pizza in Seattle 8/25/2006

Although there are no TRUE East-coast style pizzerias out here, this one is the top of the stack. Their pizzas are great. Crust is thin, just crisp enough, toppings are generous and fresh, and its pretty inexpensive. Highly recommended. Pros: Pizza more

Best Pizza... worth the trek 5/11/2006

Hands down, best pizza in Seattle... or Portland, or Vancouver. It's really the best. Pasta's pretty good -- except for seafood specials, which can be great. Ambiance is bustling, harried, and not especially quaint. But it's somehow more fun that way. And the painting of Sophia Loren makes up for all decorative trespasses. more

best pizza in seattle, and much cheaper... 12/26/2005

I live for pizza, and this pizza is no joke! The sause is just spicy enough and the pepporoni is top notch and cripsy. The cheese doesn't get to greesy and the thin crust is just thick enough on the ends to really grab hold and stuff it in your mouth! The only suggestion I would have would be to order extra basil since the regular order is never enough. I'm always inpressed and love to grab a large pie and head next door to the Beverage Place for a Mariners game on the big screen. Not only is this pizza much better than any I've had in Seattle, a large pie is about $6.00 cheaper than Pagliacci's. Pros: cost, pizza, pizza more

Best in the West 8/1/2005

My grandkids favorite Italian restaurant, mine too, is the Abbondanza Pizzeria in West Seattle. Their great tasting, best in the west, New York style pizzas are to die for. The pasta dishes are superb, the salads are very fresh and tasty. You will not be disappointed with Seattles best sit down pizza parlor. Pros: pizza, pasta & salads, beer and wine, smells great Cons: no atmosphere, limited seating more

WOW! 5/11/2005

The pasta here is so faulous! I was amazed. My boyfriend and I just moved to West Seattle and we always saw this little place packed on the weekends and we finally decided to give them a try and I am so glad we did. The pasta choices were out of this world. Try the Carbonerra! It's like dying and going to heaven! The service rocks as well. The only thing we were disappointed with was the decor. It's such a cold setting. The lighting is too bright and garrish. They should really soften things up at bit by placing tablecloths on the tables and maybe adding some soft light via candles. Other than that this place is perfect. In fact I may go there this evening! Pros: Value, Great Food, Parking Cons: Decor, Decor, Decor more

Great Pizza! 10/25/2004

I have been wanting to go to Abbondonza for sometime and finally got the opportunity this past weekend and boy was I glad I went! The pizza is awesome! My husband is from New York and says this is New York style pizza! The ambiance is nice, very family friendly. I can't wait to go back! Pros: Pizza, Service, Price more

Yes, I'm a New Yorker... 6/21/2004

... and that means I find most of the pizza in town, well, confusing. At the least. Pineapple does NOT belong on pizza. Hunt's tomato sauce is not pizza sauce. Domino's is NOT pizza. But the margherita at Abbondanza... now THAT'S pizza! The sauce, the cheese, the crust... all are authentic. Just leave a bite in your mouth and let your taste buds pick out the spices that are missing in most pizzas in town. Sure, you can put odd stuff on if you want, but if you want the real thing, this is it. Pros: Sauce, Crust, Cheese more

Best Pizza in Seattle 6/17/2004

The editorial review is right about the bright lights and lack of music sometimes - although I think they may have gotten the point as this has changed of late. Anyway, the Pizza here is arguably the best in Seattle (better than Piecora and Pagliaci) (assuming you prefer NY style pizza). Iv'e taken a lot of people here from the NW, and they all agree that it is the best they've had. Only have had better in NY and Italy. The ambience did feel weird at first, but I've actually grown to like it. Pros: Pizza, Pizza, Pizza more

absoutely wonderful 1/28/2004

I live just down the block from this restuarant, when it first opened we weren't sure how long this place would last, but the food is consistently good all the time. The pizza is the best pizza in seattle in my opinion. The prices are great, not too expensive. Putting a italian place in that location was a great idea. You all must try it, it's worth the drive to West Seattle. Pros: Inexpensive, good ambiance, good service more

Best pizza I've had in Seattle 1/22/2003

I grew up just outside of New York City and this is the closest a pizza in Seattle has come to a pizza in that area. I can't say enough good things about it. My wife and I wolfed down an entire large together we loved our first one so much. We'll definitely be going back to try every kind, but I can't imagine them being better than the plain cheese. Pros: Inexpensive, Best Pizza, Good Parking more

Excellent Pizza! 11/19/2002

Their portabello pizza is excellent! Their Italian beer is not so great. (think ""Budweiser"") Although the food was perfect, the atmosphere left a lot to be desired. Take the kids for family night out; but don't take a date if you're looking for a romantic dinner. The tables are jammed so close together that you can't have a private conversation. And, the 5-year-old at the table next to us kept running around the place. Pros: Great pizza, Real italian chefs Cons: Crowded, Noisy more
