Best

I went and stayed with my wife over the weekend (I live in Seattle, but let my folks stay at our place). It was awesome to do a little mini staycation, walked to Poppy in Capito...

Worst

Fopr the Marriott Family of hotels, this was incredibly dissapointing. The exterior has dirt drip lines down the sides and it is an UGLY reflection on what you would expect coming...

Great rooms and service 7/7/2010

It's been awhile since I have been to this hotel, but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I didn't get to spend a lot of time in the hotel, most of the time was spent in the pool on the top floor or in the room with room service. The pool was heavenly, there was no one else up there and it had beautiful views. I would go back for the pool. Room service was exactly what I expect of room service, pleasant and unassuming. The food was decent as well. I also appreciated the morning service and the room service server telling me all about what the weather would be like that day. He was a pretty funny guy. Front desk service was great as well. My only complaint if parking, but when is it not for downtown hotels? It's expensive, you just have to deal with it. Pros: Top floor pool, room service Cons: parking more

Nice hotel, good value, excellent location 3/24/2009

This location is an excellent value--walking distance to shows/bars in Capital Hill and to the Market. Weekend out-of-towners will appreciate the proximity to shopping and attractions. The new Visions lounge on the 28th floor, is a great spot for a cocktail while watching the sun go down--order the Side Car! Business travelers will appreciate the proximity to Columbia Tower and other office buildings. You can even walk to Bell Town if you put your comfy shoes on. No need to rent a car! Pros: Comfortable rooms, accommodating staff, dogs allowed! Cons: but, lobby needs to be updated... more

New remodel looks amazing! 3/4/2009

I went and stayed with my wife over the weekend (I live in Seattle, but let my folks stay at our place). It was awesome to do a little mini staycation, walked to Poppy in Capitol Hill, and my wife did some shopping at Pacific Place, which was also walking. The best part is that I got an amazing deal, the front desk people said they are trying to promote the fact that they put $20 million in renovations to locals. Pros: Amazing Deal, we could bring our dog, and could walk so many cool places more

A GRAND disapointment 3/21/2007

Fopr the Marriott Family of hotels, this was incredibly dissapointing. The exterior has dirt drip lines down the sides and it is an UGLY reflection on what you would expect coming to a Marriott brand hotel. Upon entering the lobby, it looks a bit nicer but is not warm at all, outdated, and an all around disapointment matched by the exterior. the rooms are old, the food barely adequate, the bar common, the facilities are rinky dink, the meeting space sporadic and used and the hotel seems to be completely mis-managed. Wait staff in the restaurant was very cordial, but the rest of the staff was either distant or offered a very contrived greeting. Not sincere at all. more

It's not much more ... get the Romance Package! 12/10/2006

We were planning to stay on Bainbridge Island after a day of shopping in Seattle, but upon finding all the places we wanted to stay booked we decided to make a reservation where our friends were staying. I wasn't sure if it would be as fun or as romantic as Bainbridge -- I thought it would be your standard corporate downtown hotel -- but I was more than impressed. Pros: Service, Food, View Cons: Dated furnishings, Parking more

great breakfast 11/18/2006

My husband and I spent a weekend there and enjoyed the breakfast buffet and the view was fabulous. We highly recommend staying here. Great deals on web.... Pros: parking Cons: EXPENSIVE more

great place go stay 6/6/2004

The view from the 25th floor over looking the bay is breath taking... the staff is great and they always have a smile for you at check in. Pros: clean, fast check in, great VIP lounge more

very nice hotel 9/9/2002

The Renaisannce Madison is very nice, but shows it's age. The hotel staff is very professional and attentive. The advertised rates are too high for the property. I got my room for $80 on Priceline. Well worth that price. Pros: Excellent Staff, Great Location, Comfortable Room Cons: Expensive, Rooms Are Dated more

A Great Stay Downtown 7/2/2002

The Madison Reanaissance (MR) is a beautiful grand hotel in Downtown Seattle. There are other more historic and elegant hotels but the MR brings the amenities of a large corporate hotel with more comfort and style than most. You can usually procure a great rate from the hotel itself or other travel web sites. I have received a free room upgrade every time I have stayed at the MR. more
