Terrible food, strange crowd of geriatrics and young workers 3/15/2011

Obviously a lot of fake reviews on citysearch now. The food here was disgusting to say the least. It was more like a cheap buffet food in las vegas. None of the three in our group was happy with the appetizers or entrees. The owner and the managers promised to take out some items fromthe the bill and did not and admitted to their lie at the end. more

Comfortable and tasty 5/1/2009

Ate there over the weekend with wife and fellow couple. I ordered the bouillabaisse which was excellent and my wife had the whitefish which was also excellent. Our friends had a few requests and the waitress was very accomodating, a nice place. Pros: Excellent bouillabaisse! more

Great Food, Great Place 5/1/2009

Last night I met my husband at this cozy restaurant that I had never been to before and was blown away with. It looks very inconspicuous on the outside, but don't let that fool you, you walk into a romantic patio strung with lights and then into a gleaming restaurant where it seems everyone knows everyone. The staff seemed to know and care so much about many of the patrons that I wanted to be 'a regular.' The food was absolutely divine and the wine list wasn't too shabby either! I ordered the tuna tar tar and the garlic chicken breast! So good! The sauce on the chicken was amazing and the chicken was so moist! My husband had the tilapia, which was really scrumptious as well. We finished our meal off with coffee and a giant tiramisu cheesecake that was to die for! Overall we had quite a nice time here, definitely a secret gem in LA! Pros: Food, People, Location Cons: Couldn't find any more

mmm 5/1/2009

The food is great and the location can't be compared, perfect meeting place for friends on the westside and the valley. more

Melt in your mouth filet mignon 4/29/2009

We took some friends here for my husbands birthday last weekend and were so pleased. The guys both ordered the filet mignon with horseradish mashed potatoes & shitaki gravy. It was so tender that they didn't even need a knife to cut it! Outstanding! I had the grilled salmon with butternut squash and my friend had the blackened sea scallops over an awesome goat cheese and pancetta salad. Both, also outstanding! We had meantioned when we made the reservation that it was a birthday and the adorable waitress brought out a candle lit banana split the size of Texas. What an impressive presentation and it was scrumptious, as well! We can't wait to go back. more

Editorial review from GrubHub 11/21/2008

I was the first one to order on grubHub for this restaurant and they did not educate their staff about grubHub and tried to charge me twice since they are a cash only place. It worked out since we asked the mgr. more

best salads! 6/26/2008

This place has the best Chopped Vegetable salad I have ever had! It's unlike any other, and just healthy and tasty. The Caesar Salad is great too and you can add chicken or scallops or shrimp to any of the salads. We were treated really well and I would go back there anytime to eat again. Pros: Food is terrific Cons: Not great for late dinners more

Sepulveda's secret spot 6/11/2008

I live in Encino and my kids live on the Westside. Bel Air Bar and Grill is a godsend! It's the only good restaurant where we can meet ""in between"". Truthfully, I'd drive twice the distance to eat the food. Some of the best dishes in LA. Try the boullabaise or the lamb. Some of the pastas have been on the menu a little to long though-- but it doesn't pretend to be Valentino. It's a cozy, friendly place; and worth the price. Quick story: My kids went to USC. We were in there one night sitting next to a Trojan legend. My wife, never the shrinking violet, approached him and told him that our kids were fellow alumni. He laughed, got up and came over to say Hi! It's that type of place. The only negative we ever experienced was one night, after a function at the Getty Museum, we popped in after 9:00. The kitchen was closed. Oh well, we've got no business eating that late, anyway. Pros: food, service, ambience Cons: closes early more

Best Caesar Salad and Seafood Bouillabaisse 3/28/2008

Great rendevouz spot between the Valley and the Westside! A somewhat hidden gem Pros: Food, Service,Ambience,Cocktails Cons: Not a late night dining spot more

EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE AND FOOD!! Great for a romantic evening or for a group! 12/11/2007

I went here for a special occasion dinner with my husband and my parents. I made the reservation a week beforehand and we had a fantastic table right by the fireplace. The food was delicious. I ordered the special that night which was a butternut squash risotto with seared scallops and it was excellent. My Mom commented that her filet mignon was one of the best she ever had. We sampled several appetizers including the chicken potstickers and the calamari. Everything we had was scrumptious and the desserts were out of this world! They also had a very extensive wine menu which is always a plus. Pros: Food, Service, Ambience, EVERYTHING A+++++ Cons: None that I can think of. more

Best Bartender 12/31/2003

I've been there a couple of times and I've enjoy it every time. The bartender makes the best drinks, especially Margaritas. I highly recommend this restaurant and bartender (Armando) Pros: Excellent food, great prices more

we love it here 3/9/2003

This is truly one of the great places on the westside. My friends and I are always very comfortable here. The owners go out of their way to make dining here a pleasurable experience. The ambience is beautiful and relaxed. The food is consistantly good. The lounge and heated patio are inviting. Its just a great place overall. Try it! Pros: patio, fireplace, romantic more

the best neighborhood place in the best 6/9/2002

This place has it all, very relaxed atmosphere, beautiful decor, fabulous food and friendly service. There is a working fireplace in the dining room. The lounge bar area is extremely comfortable with a full bar and great wine list. The NY steak was as good or better than any in LA. My friends and I met on the heated garden patio for drinks and smokes before dining and the service couldn't have been better. The best Cosmos and martinis from a professional bartender. We love it. more
