We will miss you for a long time to come. 4/4/2008

La Belle Epoque was a great restaurant with it's sassy Eda and adorable George making us feel as if we were family. After fifteen years of their pleasant greetings and excellent food, I will miss them very much. The early waiters were knowledgeable and attentive, but as time went on and the owners aged, they settled for a rude waiter who was 'dependable' and annoying as heck. Our daughter practically grew up there, hiding cookies that Eda had given her since she was 7. I loved the atmosphere, and was sad to see them leave. The next restaurant had the opposite effect. We were ignored and never did sit down to try the food. Pros: Neighborhood/Family atmosphere, with excellent food and value Cons: Rude waiter at the end, and now they're closed. (atmosphere will ruin a place) more

I love trying new places for brunch and I've been eyeing this place for ages. The food was disappointing. I've definitely had better French at this price. Nice and airy inside though. Pros: Good location. Cons: So so food. more

Poor Food Faire & Crappy Service 3/28/2006

I had breakfast here this morning and I was disgusted. I asked for french toast with dry eggs (no butter or oils). What I got was french bread still soggy from eggs and buttered beyond belief. The eggs were burned brown and still had oil. My boyfriend's omlette and sausage was covered in oil, and clearly what was a poor quality cheese by the way it melted. We politely declined the food and the waitress looked at us in disbelief because we were shunning the food. She brought us a check which she informed us that we had to spilt since we ordered the food anyway. We paid and left. We wanted a nice breakfast, not a greasy plate of food and out of season fruit. We will not be returning. Guess I should heed a ""B"" rating in a window. Pros: Large Tables Cons: No Parking more

Great Brunch Spot 6/10/2002

This is a great weekend brunch spot, just don't surprised if everyone seems to be moving very slowly. Sometimes it feels like hangover central, but other times there's more of an energetic vibe. Either way, the food is among the best on the Eastside. Grab a table outside if you can. That's where all the real action takes place. Parking can be a bit of a chore, but really it's worth it. Oh, and make sure they give you a good variety of bread. Sometimes it gets crazy busy and they forget. Pros: good food, great location, people watching Cons: a bit pricey more

Best for brunch 6/8/2002

Went there for late bruch (which was actually lunch!) and had a relaxing time. Stayed outside and the service was pretty good, excpet for the fact that we were given only 1 kind of bread while everone in the restaurant had gotten a variety! Discrimination? Pros: Cheap Cons: Hard to Park more
