This guy is a ripoff. Do NOT send him your crankshaft. I sent him a crank that he said he could fix ""no problem"". It came back with cracks in the journal where he welded it, and it wasn't straight. Of course he won't return my phone calls. Beware. There are other places to get your crank fixed. more

Offense: False Pretenses/Swindle/Confidence Game 11/1/2007

Police Narrative:\r \r \r The victim victim contacted the Economic Crimes Bureau and advised that he was referred to Doug Rowe at Crankshaft Specialists, as a place he could buy a 4340 billet steel 3.75"" Stroker crankshaft for his 4.3L V6 truck; who stated that he had 2 of the crankshafts sitting on his shelf. The suspect Doug Rowe agreed to sell the crankshaft to the victim Mansayon at a lowered price of $1791.00 including shipping. Christopher sent the $1791.00 to Doug in the form of a check (check #173) on December 21, 2005. Doug told Christopher that his order number was # and that the part would arrive in 12-16 weeks.\r \r Christopher waited for his part to arrive from Doug at Crankshaft Specialists, but it never came. Christopher attempted to contact Doug on February 24, 2006, and left a message for him. Christopher never received a reply. Christopher tried several more times leaving messages on voice mail and with a Secretary at Crankshaft Specialists. Doug told Christopher he had been sent the wrong crankshaft and was waiting on the correct one and then would ship it. After many attempts to deal with Doug, Christopher finally accepted an offer from Doug to just get a refund. Doug never sent the check. Pros: Nothing now Cons: Doug Rowe more

Caveat emptor! 5/13/2007

Check with the (Mid South Better Bus site) before doing business with this company. I ordered two (2) cranks and NEXT-DAY mailed the payment to Floyd Doug Rowe of Crank Shaft Specialist. I cancelled one of the cranks (after 2 weeks) and FINALLY received the other crank after waiting for four (4) weeks for it to be delivered...which he said was ""in stock"". After receiving the crank, it was the WRONG stroke AND....it was (my opinion) JUNK! I would not have put that into a daily driver, and definitely not ina motor that's going to make over 850hp. After going back and forth with Doug, it was returned to Crank Shaft Specialist and I've been waiting for a FULL refund since March 13th. The BetterBB has contacted them (3/27/07), BetterBB closed this case (4/13/07) as ""Unanswered"". I filed a complaint with The Tenn. Dept of Consumer Affairs (4/13/07), they are currently attempting to contact them (again) via Certified Mail (5/10/07). Floyd Doug Rowe of Crank Shaft Specialist, Inc will out right LIE to you. They are slow to ship (if shipped at all) and you will have problems getting a REFUND. If you must deal with them, use a credit card or NOT AT ALL. Oh...that's right, they don't accept credit cards! Learn from my $1,580 mistake. Any and all comments can be sent to jrrmason at aol-dot-com. more
