Great brunch 10/7/2005

This is a fabulous brunch spot, definitely worth the [sometimes very long] wait. Dishes aren't just good, but are mini presentations on a plate, and quite tasty. Quarters are sometimes close depending on the crowd and how many people are trying to get in, but it's a must for brunch. more

The menu changes seasonally, but favorites such as the breakfast burrito (cilantro-jalapeno tortilla filled with guacamole and scrambled eggs) and the Oreo cookie flapjacks remain on the menu. Made-to-order eggs and omelets are always available for the breakfast traditionalist. The lunch menu offers several sandwiches, like a maple and mustard roasted pork loin and the signature crab club. Salad offerings include a baby spinach, golden beet and duck confit, along with classics like the Caesar and Cobb. more

Best brunch spot in Chicago! 9/6/2005

Bongo Room is best spot for brunch in Chicago! The menu is highly innovative and changes with the seasons. Everything I've had has been delicious. The chocolate french toast, breakfast burrito, and strawberry sundae pancakes were some of my favorites. The waitstaff is always on top of things. They don't take reservations so it's best to go for a late brunch (after 1pm), so you don't have to wait long. You can also skip ahead in line if you volunteer to sit at the counter. My mouth waters just thinking about their incredible food!! more

Great Breakfast/Brunch Spot 7/18/2005

This breakfast/brunch dive is hip and there are lots of local Chicago people that stop by regularly. Breakfasts fresh and the service is pretty quick. The salmon eggs benedict isgreat with with the warm hollandaise over it. Hash browns are sprinkled with dill and they are not greasy. The banana toffee pancakes are too die for! The sauce makes it. They have a seasonal menu with some eclectic drinks. Sometimes you'll see the hosting drinking them and it just makes you want to order it! This is one of my favorite restaurants! Get their early before the line gets long! more
