Breakfast spot 2/9/2006

I'd recommend CJ's Eatery. It's located in Belltown, making it easy for downtown and QA commuters to get to work. I've had a few breakfast meetings there and never had a bad experience. They have good food, service, open early (7:00 a.m), and easy to find. Breakfast menu is a complete offering (everything from bagels, frittatas to tofu sautees). more

Little known breakfast gem 12/12/2005

I'm almost scared to write this review, for fear of spoiling one of Seattle's best kept breakfast secrets. All of the Editor's top picks are fine restaurants - some of them excellent. CJ's wins my vote for "Best in Seattle." Walk in, sit down, and have a hot fresh coffee within seconds. Order your meal, and start your weekend crossword... In an average under 8 minutes your breakfast will arrive HOT and DELICIOUS. (I'm not joking... the first time I thought it was an anomaly, but I've timed it on several visits...) This is not fine dining by any means. This is diner fare - similar to what you can find in other places... What makes the difference is the consistent HIGH quality, the speed, the friendly and VERY attentive wait staff. On second thought... never mind... I don't want to have to wait for a seat anytime soon... more

Good urban breakfast 9/12/2005

The blintzes are second only to Madison Park Cafe's. They're happy to toast an english muffin for ya'. They have shakes, but they're a bit thin. OJ isn't particularly fresh. more

Great Food and Kid Friendly - What more can you ask for 4/18/2005

C.J.'s Eatery in my opinion is one of Belltown's hidden treasures - especially if you have kids. They serve a wonderful diner-like menu including breakfast and lunch items until 3pm daily. The staff is extremely friendly and happy to have you and your little ones. They have high-chairs available, a changing table, and the entire restaurant is non-smoking. If you do have babies or kid's - I would still reccommend going at slightly off-peak hours so you can have your choice of tables to accomodate strollers, high- chairs if needed. (go for lunch or brunch around 1:30) And if you are an expectant mom - C.J's Swedish Pancakes are a must - you can't get enough of them. Even if you don't have kid's - you will enjoy this affordable, casual and friendly restaurant! more
