Greatful doggie Mom 11/16/2011

Chloe and I thank our lord for BRAH .Monday she was near death. Immediatetly Dr.Toth and Dr. Simmons took over and started treatment. She was vomiting and had not eaten or drank water for 48 hours was totally toxic. Feared intestinal blockage total digestive system shut down. Today is Wednesday and my Chloe has started eating and has made a 100 % improvement. There has never been a more compassionate nor caring group of people. With everyone in this office loving and caring for each patient as if their own. Of this I am witness for I sat in the back hours holding my chloe and daily was so touched by the warmth and caring given to ALL their patients. God Bless you all at BRAH...Linda Flores Pros: null Cons: null more

SIMPLY THE BEST !!! 5/6/2011

EXCELLENT in every way!! I had been looking for a new vet for a few years when I came across BRAH while doing some research online. They were highly rated so I thought I'd give them a try. Understand I've been using vets many times a year since 1973 so I know when Good is GOOD, and BRAH is GOOD especially Elder Dr. Simmons who is my 'regular' doctor but his son Dr. Eric Simmons is also exceptional. On my first visit, my Shih Tzu just needed his third set of puppy shots. He had a terrible allergic reaction, the worst Elder Dr. Simmons said he had ever seen. I was terrified, not only did they save my puppy (I don't think my furbaby would have made it had we not been at BRAH), they consoled me and Dr. Eric Simmons talked to me through the whole thing trying his best to refocus my fear, and he did a great job of doing so. Their prices are very reasonable, I never have to wait to see the doctor, I can't say enough nice things about the staff, everyone is simply wonderful!!! I have more

I have been bragging about my new vet ever since the first visit and I have already referred several of my friends to BRAH. Thank y'all so much for everything and God Bless!! more

Good, down-to-earth docs 11/12/2009

I've been taking my cats to BRAH/ Dr. Simmons for 24 years. Both he and Dr. Toth are very caring and passionate about their work. Dr. Simmons cried with me when I had to have my 18-year old cat put down. They give a "group" discount when you have multiple pets as often as possible. more

10 star, this people are the best 5/16/2009

Both Veterinary are great, but I personally use Dr. Toth, who I cannot say enough good about. I could write a book, but will spare you. You can trust these folks and feel confident in their care. They don't do aromatherapy, nature walks, but are good basic caring vets on Burnet Road. Reasonably priced, probably don't charge enough if the truth were told. more

Best Veterinary Office anywhere 10/17/2008

I don't know what I would have done had I not found Burnet Road Animal Hospital. Dr. Simmons is a rare veterinarian these days, as he seems to care far more for the animals and owners than he does about making money! All of the vets are knowledgeable and compassionate. The staff is absolutely wonderful. I don't think there is another veterinary practice like it. I hate to think about ever moving away from Austin and trying to find another vet office comparable to BRAH. I doubt one exists! Pros: Friendly, caring and compassionate; vets always take time to explain everything and answer all your questions. Cons: No one there at night with animals boarded overnight more

Friendly helpful staff 8/5/2008

I love these guys. They are friendly and compassionate and spend lots of time talking to you about your pet's problem. They also try to keep the costs down if possible. I'm very happy with them. more

Fantastic vet and staff 6/3/2008

I found BRAH after a HORRIBLE experience with another potbellied pig vet in the area. Dr Toth, his techs, and all the staff have always been available, knowledgeable, and friendly, always doing what needed to be done to care for my pets. Dr. Toth is always up-front, honest and willing to discuss options when it comes to my pet pigs. Everyone at the clinic understands a pet owners' devotion to their "babies" and they even handled the "special needs" of an overly emotional pig parent with compassion. I no longer have a "pig vet" and a "dog vet". Dr. Toth handles all my pets. I would recommend him to anyone. His prices also seem to be in line with other vet clinics....I don't feel overcharged. more

Outstanding vets! 6/2/2008

I've been taking my cats and dog to Dr. Simmons and Dr. Toth for the past decade, and I have never received anything but compassionate, top-quality care. I recommend them! more

Excellent Treatment, Staff, and Service 11/27/2007

I bought a puppy about a year ago and was recommended to Burnet Road Animal Hospital by a close friend of mine. She has been a client of this clinic for over 15 years, regulary bringing her 3 dogs to Dr. Everett Simmons for visits. I have taken my puppy into Burnet Road since her first check-up, and have since visited the clinic multiple times. Not only have I brought her in to see Dr. Simmons for her shots and other small treatments, but I also had her spayed by Dr. Toth a few months ago and was extremely pleased with the results of the surgery. Each time that I brought my puppy into see Dr. Simmons, he was extremely personable, professional, and informative. Not only are the veterinarians superior, but the front staff has always treated me with respect, both over the phone and in person. I have always been greeted with a smile by the receptionists when walking into the clinic, and my check-outs have been quick and easy. The prices at this clinic are very affordable, too, which is a huge plus! In short, I could not ask for better veterinarians to treat my puppy, and I am so glad that my friend recommended this clinic; I regulary pass the word onto my own friends about the great service of Burnet Road Animal Hospital, and plan to take my animals there for a very long time to come! Pros: Veterinarians and Front Staff Cons: None more

Wonderful care! 2/20/2007

I have been taking my animals to BRAH since 2002. I moved out of Austin for 18 months, and when I moved back, we stuck with BRAH. Most recently, Dr. Simmons has been a great help to our dog, Ruby. We were originally fostering Ruby for a local rescue group, but after meeting her, we knew she was meant to be ours. The day Ruby came to our house, we noticed something wasn't quite right. I took her to see Dr. Simmons who got her in right away that day. Ruby had a severe PDA which was something I was very unfamiliar with. Dr. Simmons was absolutely wonderful and was kind to me as I was a little bit overwhelmed and emotional! He educated me on the condition and referred me to TAMU where he believed she would receive the best treatment. We went to TAMU where we learned Ruby had additional congenital defects. TAMU was able to repair 2 with 2 different surgeries, but we've gone to BRAH for all of her after-care. Dr. Simmons truly cared about her well-being and helping find the appropriate treatments. Even when I go in now to pick up food in between visits, he asks about her. I recommend BRAH to all of my friends, and I would recommend them to any stranger. Not only do they provide great care, but they are also very affordable. Pros: great vets, Tracy & Marilyn, affordable Cons: none! more

Best veterinary care anywhere 10/16/2006

About decade ago, my friend and vet, Lora Pigott, recommended Dr. Simmons to me when she sold her practice. She told me I would do well with him because he is an excellent & caring vet, has plenty of common sense, and wouldn't "treat me like an idiot" as some highly educated professionals are wont to do. She was right: We still bring our pets to him for all their care even though we moved out into Blanco County in 2003. Pros: Excellent care at reasonable cost. Cons: None. more

Great vet hospital in Austin 9/21/2006

I would like to share my opinion on services of Burnet Road Animal Hospital.I had been taking my cat to one of those vet chain hospitals for shots before and let me tell you- the difference between a smaller hospital and chain is HUGE. I had brough my cat to get her spayed to Burnet Road Animal hospital because I just hated the way I was treated in one of those big chain ones: long waits, huge charges, nurses and doctors kept changing every visit... In Burnet Road animal hospital, I did not have to wait at all when I brough my kitty in. Staff was very fiendly and answered all questions I had about an operation.Charge for an operation was very reasonable. Then my cat didnt feel very well- she had refused to drink or eat for a few days after surgery-she was treated by Burnet Road animal hospital like their own cat- they hand fed her, helped me with a bunch of very useful advices.. Today she is feeling much better- so am I . My biggest thanks to both doctors, Cathy, and everyone else that helped me to nurse my cat back to normal. I highly recommend this hospital as you and your pet will be treated like a family member- not like a customer. Pros: Too many to mention in one sentence Cons: Didnt notice any more

The Best Vet in Cental Texas - Proven Many Times Over 7/22/2006

I have been a client of Dr. Simmons for over 30 years now. I would not consider taking my animals anywhere else. Dr. Simmons is an incredibly compassionate, down-to-earth, and patient individual. He is truly committed to his profession no matter the circumstances or inconveniences to his private life. This man and his very professional staff have helped me through many an emotionally overwhelming situation. Pros: Compassion, knowledge, location Cons: None! more

the best staff in the world! 5/8/2006

this is a great place to take your beloved pet.they really care about your pet-not your pocketbook! more

Ok Animal Care - Not real Friendly 3/13/2006

I've been to Burnet Road Animal Hospital on a couple of occasions and wasn't real happy with the atmosphere or the care my pets recieved. The staff was stuffy and unfriendly. After going there the second time, I had to take my pet to another Vet/Clinic for additional care. The problems were addressed but not resovled. Could have been taken care of with simple antibiotics and they were never given. PROS: Good prices CONS: You get what you pay for. more

Dog Gone Great Vet 2/23/2006

I went to Burnett Road Animal Hospital after another Animal Clinic in Pflugerville kept billing me for test (for months) on my dog but could not find anything wrong with him - Wrong with him - His hair on his back had fallen out and he seemed to be in pain all the time. I paid them a lot of money for nothing - Went to Dr. Simmons and Dr. Toth at the suggestion of a friend and neighbor - In ONE VISIT - They knew what the problem was - A Cancerous Tumor. They removed it - His hair started growing back and I was able to enjoy my pet for another year. THEY LOVE WHAT THEY DO AND CARE ABOUT THE CLIENT AND THEIR PET. Reasonable Priced - Honest - Sincere - Go See Them If You Love Your Pet. Great bunch of people. Pros: Reasonable Priced, Caring, Knowledgeable Cons: None more

True caring vet! 1/20/2003

After a bad experience with a previous vet, a very known cat breeder referred Dr Simmons to us. Our cat has a rare type of cancer and Dr Simmons is showing so much interest and care on our case, not as the previous vet who gave her a death sentence and had no interest in studying her case. *And* we discovered she has good chances of cure doing chemo! more
