Do not go to Buffalo Exchange, You will get your car towed! It cost $223.80 plus a cab ride to the city impound lot. It's not worth it! There are plenty of other resale shops all over Houston that care about their clients and would do a better job of notifying them as they enter the store that there is a towing scam going on all around their store. If you don't get lucky enough to park right in front of their door, you will get towed! The tow truck drivers use the drug addicts on the street to notify them once a driver gets out of his or her car. Within 5 minutes your car will be gone! more

PARKING IS HORRIBLE. My car was towed from the gravel lot on the side and it cost me $218.00 to get it back. Went there with my daughter and went to the other stores in the strip center, came out and my car was towed from the side lot. A real need at this location is signage to tell patrons what area of the sorry gravel lot on the side is safe to park in. It would not surprise me if SOMEONE was getting a spiff from the towing and storage lot. I WILL not go back. Resale shops are everywhere. Try another. more

Beware when shopping at this location. YOU WILL GET YOUR CAR TOWED. Parking is limited in front and there is no clear designation as to which area of the parking lot is safe to park in. My car was towed even after one of the clerks informed me that it WAS safe to park there. Spent $28.17 had my car towed $218.00. Total cost of the experience $246.17. Don't bother. I frequent resale shops often and have always been able to drive away afterwards. more

YOU'LL GET YOUR CAR TOWED AT THIS PLACE !! 4/24/2012

A friend of mine suggested this place so we went. I drove around the block 3 times trying to find a parking space. Finally, decided to park directly in front of the store across the street. I saw a No Parking Sign but it was directly to the right of the entrance. There was not a sign on the left side all the way to the end so we parked. Went into the store. Expecting to get a deal. We were there not more than 5 minutes when someone shouted something about her car. We went to the door and noticed my car was ""missing"". Nope not missing but TOWED AWAY ! The guy at the front door that was trying to be a D.J said ""They do it all the time"". He sat there and watched them tow 6 vehicles at once and didn't say anything. If this store knew that this was being done they should have at least put a sign in their window to notify their customers. They could care less to the fact that all those customers were willing to spend money in their shop but now spending $218.00 to get their vehicle out of storage. I believe the store is in on this deal with the wrecker company and they don't want to stop a good deal in their pockets. I absolutely hope you DON'T shop at this store. Please pass this information to all your friends. Don't Shop here !!!!!! The No Parking sign in the aisle that I parked was not on the parking stick. Completely gone.... more

They curate the clothes so you don't have to. Although its slightly pricier than others, the selection is worth it. more

AMAZING! 2/17/2012

I have found marni, Betsey Johnson, Cynthia Steffe, etc for $20 each. You have to dig and you have to go frequently, because you just never know what you will get. But it is usually an amazing place and you will not be disappointed! more

Horrible Customer Service 11/12/2011

I went in today to sell some items. I had a ton of brand name and brand new clothes that I can no longer wear since I have lost weight. I called ahead to see what they accepted. The ""Buyer"" acted like I was bothering her and she barely even looked at my stuff. I won't be going back here. Too bad the news gives you good reviews. Buffalo Exchange's Customer Service and Buyers suck! more

Customer Service SUCKS! DON'T SELL YOUR STUFF HERE! 8/10/2010

BF was the second store I went to on Westheimer to unload some items I no longer had use for. The 1st store was great I made good profit. I then went into Buffalo Exchange to try and get rid of what the other store passed on. First off, the customer service was poor. The staff spent more time conversing with one another rather than doing their job. If you decide to sell here, they will definitely try to ""stiff"" you. I didn't debate prices bc honestly the clothes were going to get donated to Goodwill anyway. But I will never go back their in the future and I would suggest that no one else waste their time at that establishment. more

An Exchange of Clothes 7/27/2010

Recently I've lost a few clothes sizes due to jogging and so my clothes are looking like garbage bags on me. A friend recommended Buffalo Exchange to save money instead of buying a brand new set of clothes. Buffalo Exchange buys lightly used clothes and resells them. The store is a medium size brightly decorated more trendy version of the salvation army. There were plenty of racks of women clothes and just a couple of mens. The women's selection looked trendy enough but the men's side was a bit lacking. Most the clothes I saw there were from the 90s. While that look may be back, for me I'm glad that's in my past. Pros: Good selection of women's clothes Cons: Meager men's selection more

Lots of junk, worth the gems 2/7/2010

Buffalo Exchange is a great place to come when you're in need of some retail therapy. You'll have to sort through a lot of junk (think Hollister, Forever 21, American Eagle) but there are always a few hidden gems (Marc Jacobs, BCBG, Michael Kors, Burberry). The best part? Even if you shouldn't have been shopping, the prices are so low that you won't feel any buyer's remorse. Even if you can't find what you're looking for, you're already on Westheimer -- just run across the street to another thrift store. But definitely stop here first, the earlier the better! Pros: Huge selection Cons: Crowded more

Fun, Trendy Resale Shop 4/5/2009

This is a really good resale shop. Unlike other thrift stores, the clothes are really geared towards a younger crowd -- older teens and young adults. No baby clothes and no little kids clothes makes for a more peaceful shopping experience! This is my favorite thrift shop, and I love visiting this place. The negative reviews on this site are really funny! All of them come across as sounding like sour grapes from competitors to be honest. Pros: Great Thrift/Resale for the younger shopper Cons: I wish it were bigger. more

This place is a joke and the manager is terrible. 3/31/2009

Clothing sellers do not waste your time. Run do not walk away from this place. You will do much better selling on Ebay. To start off with these people have poor customer service. I do not know where they got off having a snooty attitude. They work in a run down used clothing shop in an unsafe part of town- there is not a thing to be snobby about. When I walked in I was not greeted properly and the inappropriateness of the staff's interaction with me just continued from there. I know I'm not at Nordstrom but the basics of customer service is to greet a customer upon entry to the store. The ""manager"" working today is laughable. This Courtney chick needs to have some self- respect and learn how to behave with decency toward her customers. She was very rude and I found her demeanor toward other customers highly disagreeable. I would think the owners would be embarrassed at her behavior. This young lady needs to join the rest of us in reality and get out of her dream world. Your worth in the customer service industry is based on how you interact with customers. This Courtney character is a liability to this store and the owner needs to put her behavior in check. You do not need to be educated to do what she is doing and there are tons of people going in making quadruple of her hourly wage so please have some self respect and stop embarrassing your store. Pros: Discount used designer clothes Cons: Poor customer service, rip-off sellers, rude manager more

good clothes, but you can find good anywhere 3/17/2009

Let's see...stuck up sales crew, buy stuff for 5 bucks...resell it for $30...most of the stuff I liked was $30 and up where I can buy new for that price, some of the stuff was torn, dirty, stained and I wouldn't pay ""new"" prices for that. Maybe, just maybe if I would have had a better experience with the sales crew, I would have bought something. For sure they need customer service training because w/out customers there's no biz! Pros: different , good, vintagy stuff Cons: stuck up minimum wage sales people more

the best resale shop in houston 12/22/2008

this is THE place to find a great deal on cool clothing-- it is not the most inexpensive to place to shop but it is the most inexpensive place to find the range of quality, stylish clothing they offer. It is important to remember they evaluate the items the take based on a combination of condition/label/look (with the look being the most important) so they won't take something based just by the label, which is something i feel differentiates this chain from most other resale shops (which will take stuff based on brand recognition alone regardless of whether the item is actually attractive). That being said I never walk in and want to buy everything, they've got funky stuff for every taste but not everything to one specific taste, but i always find a couple amazing items that i know (from being an avid shopper) i won't be able to find anywhere else for the same price. more

Not bad, but not good 12/12/2008

I go to the thrift shops on westheimer quite often and I almost always find a lot of great stuff. But unless you have a little more money to spend I wouldn't even bother with Buffalo Exchange. They have a lot of really great stuff but the prices are more then I'm usually willing to spend on used clothing. Besides that the staff is kind of stuck up (of course that pretty much goes for the staff of any of the Montrose area thrift shops).\r I will say they have an amazing selection and I pretty much always find something that I just have to have. I'd definately recommend trying it out. Pros: Big store, large selection Cons: pricey for used clothing, rude staff more

Basically it's horrible 5/2/2008

I went here once and was so disappointed. I have NO IDEA why people like it so much. It's like.....a Marshalls but with old 4 seasons ago True Religion jeans. I don't know what kind of ""designer"" stuff people find here but I only saw stuff you can buy at freakin Macy's. Total waste of gas! Pros: semi good parking Cons: bad selection, overpriced more

ok for the masses 8/6/2007

It's not the original buffalo exchange that was next door when it first opened in Houston, but you can still get some good stuff if your willing to dig to find it. I understand the staff is overworked, but they are sometimes a little too picky for their own good. The original staff with Leslie, Rain, Treasure, Squeaky and Shawn were much more personable and attractive. They were also much quicker at the buy counter!! The store was never the same after those employees left! Still, it is possible to find a good bargain there. It's a shoppers paradise for people who love to shop. I'll be back next weekend!! Pros: good clothes, prices Cons: long lines at buy counter more

Don't bother 1/3/2007

I went with a trunk full of clothes, a week or so after Thanksgiving with alot of dressier name brand items + a Levi's vest with tags on it + several pairs of Calvin Klein jeans that were barely worn, and I browsed while my clothes waited in line for someone to look at hoping to be bought by Buffalo Exchange. They did not buy 1 item, they were rude when I wanted them back instead of letting them donate them (hey I want the tax write off, why give it to them). While browsing, I noticed stained items, dirty looking items, worn out looking items, all at prices way too high for resale. more

No thanks. 9/2/2006

Okay, so I know that the high school kiddos love this place, but I consider Buffalo Exchange to be one of the biggest rip offs in Montrose.\r \r The prices are absurdly high for previously worn clothing, and the staff is rude and are of no help whatsoever! If they aren't there for customer service, then why are they there at all? Pros: Nice location. Cons: Rude employees, bad lighting and high prices. more
