Recently I've lost a few clothes sizes due to jogging and so my clothes are looking like garbage bags on me. A friend recommended Buffalo Exchange to save money instead of buying ...

things to know before you go! 8/17/2006

ok, as a former employee let me let you guys in on some selling tips. i have read many reviews from people who are mad at what they take. look through fashion magazines before you go. that is the style they are looking for. think trendy! if something is ""pilly"", stained, or smelly they will pass no matter what. premium denim is what they are looking for in terms of jeans. and try to remember not to take anything personally. they see tons of clothing items each day and will only buy what can be sold in the store. some things can be brought back later too. they might not need it at the time you brought it in. so save sweaters and stuff like that for winter and tanks for summer! i hope this helps Pros: great finds! good area, well trained staff Cons: long lines during weekends, understaffed at times, over stuffed racks more

Some O.K Clothing, Only takes well Known Item Brands(even if they are in bad shape)!! 8/15/2006

I went to this store took look for nice pieces, because I am a bargain shopper. This is a very overwhelming store, only go if you have a lot of time to look through mounds of clothes. I brought clothes to trade that were in impeccable shape, they only took one item out of the box full that I brought. I am very into fashion, so the clothes I brought there were not rags. Looking at the clothes that were there, and the clothes I brought was surprising. Some of the clothes had stains but, because of the name they were on the shelf. Very nice accessories, the staff is kind of rude. Going in that store, you could probably do better at Dillard's while there's a sale, seriously. You definitely have to dig to find good things. But if you want to sell your clothes, have a garage sale it will do much better!! Pros: Parking, Accessories, Vintage clothing Cons: Customer service, clothing trade, poor conditioned shoes more

I love this place! 6/28/2006

They specialize in modern, trendy, teen-sheik casual wear at very reasonable prices. They often have gothic types working for the store, but it fits in the Montrose area. Dressing rooms are huge. There is tremendous selection but the racks are packed full of clothing. Each time I go there I find a gazillion things to try on and usually buy more than I need. At these prices you can afford to splurge. My daughter loves this place too! Pros: Trendy and modern casual wear at very reasonable prices. more

Very rude! 1/12/2006

I have always been disappointed every time I stop in Buffalo. The staff are very rude!!!! I just recently brought 4 bags full of expensive clothes I no longer wear. They gave me $22 for the very few things they wanted. I was astounded! Not only were they rude to me, but they clearly do not have good taste! Cons: rude customer service, behind in fashion , very rude all togethe more

good shopping & selling 12/29/2005

I live in Austin, but I always have to go to Buffalo whenever I'm in Houston. I find really great designer stuff, especially shoes. The prices are good, too! more

Keep your quality items 9/10/2005

I cleaned out a hell of a lotta clothes, including cool t-shirts and blue jean jackets. I also had a one-time worn bridesmaids dress only b/c their website said they needed bridesmaids dresses for Halloween costumes...the girl helping didn't take a SINGLE ITEM!! I had a box and four handfuls of hanging items. She said they needed ""cheaper stuff"", I couldn't believe it. In a way it's a slam to your ego but on the other hand it made me realize what great items I can take to a higher quality store. Pros: Inexpensive, Location, Organized Cons: Too MUCH cheap stuff!, Punk feel, Crowded more

Buffalo Rox! 2/21/2004

You guys should really check out the newer, much larger location that Buffalo has just moved into. It's right next door. I have visited twice in the past two weeks, and both times I sold some clothes (they passed on some stuff, but I wouldn't even wear it, so it's o.k.) & came out with large purchases. The staff seems to have changed lately & everyone was super nice on both occasions. Lots of designer goods! Pros: good value, friendly employees, bright, fresh store Cons: , crowded on weekends more

The Best in Town! 5/26/2003

Buffalo Exchange is my favorite vintage and resale store. I go there about every other week to check out all of the new items and come home with something almost every time. All of my friends think that it is fabulous too. I reccomend it to everyone who is into that kind of shopping. You have to dig around a lot and try on about ten things just to come out with two, but that's part of the fun! Pros: Lots of Variety, new and old stuff, lots of name brands Cons: Very limited parking, closes too early more

Don't bother 5/2/2003

I have had more bad experiences there than good. My husband works for a nice clothing store so we are constantly getting rid of clothes that are fairly new. I too have had the sales people be rude and turn down great pieces. When shopping in the store I see awful clothes and wonder what they are thinking when turning down my stuff. I have chosen to no longer shop there and so have my girl friends. more

Buffalo Exchange is the coolest! 11/7/2002

I have visited both the Buffalo Exchange in Austin and Houston and they were both really unique. I loved all the clothes!!!! The people who work there are really interesting too!!! more
