Food has gone down hill fast! Boulder has lots to offer! Boulder Cafe is always empty, because the servers can care less. How does a place stay empty with a Happy Hour from 3:00 to Close. Try to attempt any other Happy Hour in Boulder, and you can not get it, but the Boulder Cafe is alway empty. The staff could careless to serve you, and the management (Steve) is quick to protect its week and unservant staff. What a f'n joke this place is, when you can't even be served without a server assigned to you. No wonder why this place is alway empty. Truthfully, the happy hour never even starts! Boulder Wake-Up, and partake in all of the other Spots in town! Big F'n SPerm! more

This used to be a great spot, but has gone downhill sharply over the past six months. Last time we were there, the service was surly, slow, and got our order wrong (I mean bringing the entirely WRONG entree) not just once, but twice. My wife was through eating by the time I got my food. I talked to the manager, who said he would call me, but never did. Save your money and go to Brasserie 1010. As a long time patron of the Boulder Cafe I can't believe some of these other reviews! Clearly just a disgruntled employee and someone who arrived too late for Happy Hour. They do always cut off Happy Hour promptly at 6:00 but the server always gives us the courtesy of a last call, and given the great happy hour deals I can't blame them for being strict. My Grey Goose martini is less than $5. We love going for dinner and brunch, too. They have one of the best hollandaise sauces I have ever tasted and you can get it on the benedict at brunch or on salmon oscar at dinner - absolutely amazing! Boulder cafe will always have business because of it's convenient location; which may be the reason the servers are so careless and slow. I have been to this place about 10 times, and have never had quick or helpful service. The servers are rushed and never encourage questions. These serves are only ""order takers"" and do not appear to care about making a customer feel valued. One time the service was so poor we had to talk to management, which also failed at impressing my group. The food is decent and a good happy hour. If you don't have high expectations for service it may be the place for you, but if you want a valuable dining experience, your better off at a McDonalds. As a regular customer I've always recommended friends and family to Boulder Cafe's seemingly great happy hour deals that are extended to 7pm. But, after a horrible experience last night I'm not sure I'll ever partake in my favorite after work activity there again. Boulder Cafe is a great choice for a relaxed lunch, their seasonal soups are always worth a try. The white chicken chili is delicious, prices are very reasonable for the mall. Staff is friendly and chatty, you can have lunch at the bar if you're looking to get in and out at a quick speed. Large variety of menu options, something for every taste. more

We had breakfast here and the food and service were fine. This place is nothing special, but there is nothing wrong with it. It's in the Pearl Street Mall, so it is convenient if you are walking around there. Pros: Good food Cons: Not exciting more

I really enjoy the food at the Boulder Cafe and the location historical on the walking mall. The Happy Hour is great because of the fondues and the fresh seafood bar, including several kinds of oysters. I love the desserts, especially the Guiness chocolate cake. Their Sunday brunch is superior. There are various Benedicts, but I like the one with blue corn flour tortills stuffed with shrimp, topped with poached eggs and a touch of chile in the hollandaise sauce. Boulder Cafe has an appealing menu and nice ambiance, particularly on the outdoor patio. The service, however, is uninformed and woeful. When we noted that items did not even approach matching the menu description, we were told that that's the way they prepare the dish. Questions are unwelcome, and service uninformed. Fails to meet expectations. more
