Best

I really don't know what I can say about this place that does it justice. Bottlerock is hands-down THE BEST wine restaurant in the westside...forget being the best in culver. ...

Worst

My husband and I came back from Napa and decided to continue our magical wine country experience by trying a wine bar near our home. There was a lot of buzz about Bottle Rock, so ...

What L.A. needed! 11/17/2006

A warm summer night with wine and cheese. What is so hard about them that nowhere in Los Angeles you could find a casual, unpretentious place with a great selection of both? That's of course until BottleRock opened. Their cheeses are great, good choices neatly accompanied by a delicious Italian chestnut honey and pieces of bread. All of them paired with the best selections of wine. It's like they could read your mind. Glass after glass, you just want more. And you can get it as you can take any of their wines home. Feel like just having one glass? You can have that too. And now, you can even go for sake tsting. BottleRock, you have a fan in me. Pros: Great choices, great atmosphere Cons: Their seats are really uncomfortable more

Cool wine bar and best service 11/13/2006

We went to bottlerock few nights ago and had a great time.We were served by a cool gentleman nino who is not only knowledgeable in wines but suggested great cheese to go with wines. My husband is a wine snob but nino suggested a nice bottle which was remarkable in taste and price. We had to catch a movie so we couldn't have another bottle but we shall return soon.Thank you nino for nice wine and your great service. Pros: nino and wine Cons: gets too crowded more

Great, Relaxed, Wine Bar 11/12/2006

BottleRock is a great place to sit back and enjoy a nice glass of wine. The staff is very knowledgeable and all you have to do is describe what you like in a wine and they always bring the best wine to suit your taste. Pros: Inexpensive, great tasting wine more

i have been to bottlerock four times, each time i have been served by nino who is very gracious in his service and knowledge of wines. We love coming back to bottlerock because of him.It is so nice to see people like him who are an asset to any place they work at.My only complain at bottlerock is the chairs which are so uncomfortable but otherwise overall experience is great. more

nice wines and great service for a bar 11/6/2006

I took my girlfriend this past friday for the first time to bottlerock. We were greeted by nino who happens to be our server as well.He explained us about wines and even gave us some tastes of wines to try.The service we got at bottlerock is not only great but humble. They were very busy but we got the same attention for service as others in the room.i love the fact that he didn't push us expensive wines by the glass or bottle, instead he was guiding us towards reasonable wines which were great.I thank you so much nino for making a pleasant experience for us with your hospitality. We will be back soon. Pros: service and atmosphere more

great service and hard to find cult wines 11/4/2006

I went to bottlerock with few friends last week and it was a great experience. They have a huge selections of wines and even hard to find wines like sine qua non.I have to say they are right on the money with everything from service to food and wine.I will be back again with more friends to drink nice wines at bottlerock and they serve in nice stemware as well. The food is astounding, especially the cheese selections and charcutrie which is very fresh. Pros: wine, service and food more

best service and wine selections in culver city 10/26/2006

I walked in bottlerock with my boyfriend accidently and was greeted by a sweet guy.He gave us the tour of the place and told us how they would open any bottle from the wine store as long as we get two glasses. We ended up staying and had great wine selections per nino and cheese's to compliment the wine as well.We have gone to a lot of places but nothing beats bottlerock with nino's service and wine knowledge. We cant wait to come back this saturday with some friends. Please make sure you ask for nino to serve you on your visit to bottlerock. Pros: service and wine selections Cons: parking and uncomfortable bar stools more

Very Disappointing 9/22/2006

I had previously written a glowing review for this place but my last visit was so below par in terms of service that I am recanting that review. My friend and I came in on a saturday afternoon and the place was already pretty crowded. We waited patiently by the door but were barely addressed by the servers who acted as if they were too busy to even greet us. Then finally when several groups of people were waiting, they finally acknowledged us and started making a wait list - however when the first table opened up they gave the table to people behind us on the list with the excuse that they were setting up a table for us in the alley. They never bothered to ask if we wanted to sit in the alley. Not wanting to be difficult we let them sit us there, but was ignored for a while before a server came out with menu folders - when I opened them to find them empty, I had had enough of this place. The lethargic, uninterested, bad service was simply too poor and disrespectful to inspire me to give them any business. I had recommended this place to many friends and now I'm sad to say, I will be recommending Ford's Filling Station down the street - way better food and service. Pros: Good Concept Cons: Horrible Service - Will never go back more

Fun new place that will be packed very soon! 9/11/2006

We accidentally stumbled into this new place through the back door and were pleasantly surprised. The decor is a classy, modern deli with great ambiance and their large selection of wine lining the walls. The sommelier, a self-described ""recovering actor,"" was personable and very knowledgable. He recommended a wine that was not on the list, since my husband and I each wanted a glass. (They'll open any bottle as long as two glasses are ordered- they then list it on a chalk board and anyone can order a glass until it's gone.) We loved the wine and got a good selection of cheese to go with it. Our only complaint was that that guy was being run ragged and could not keep up- they are understaffed and it's only going to get worse. The place was hopping by the time we left and it's only been open a couple of weeks. Once it catches on, it's going to be packed. Pros: good food and wine, great ambiance, fun and social Cons: not enough skilled staff for an already popular place more
