I read some of the reviews about snobishness at Olivine, I have to say this was the case a few months ago. But... snobby girl is gone!! Now really great and friendly girls are working. Georgia is so helpful eveytime I come in and the new girl Karen, also make up artist, is so sweet. I was able to come in a find the perfect dress for an up comming event. I also think that what the owner is doing with sustainable lines is just fabulous!!! Really great new lines, Beau Soleil, and Emily Katz, just to name a few. I've had brazilians done at many different places, but never liked any of them to keep going back to the same person or place. CJ at Olivine was very warm and friendly and made me feel relaxed from the moment I met her. Brazilians are of course never painless, but this was as close as it gets. She was very quick and always concerned about how I was doing, not to mention very thorough. Olivine is a really hip and trendy store with this little clean and relaxing "beauty lounge" in the back. I'll definitely go back to CJ for all of my waxing needs! more

Today was my first trip to Olivine and I loved it! The really helpful staff helped me pick out a gift for my best friend and even wrapped it and then they told me about their new esthetician and her super waxing! She had an appointment available and CJ did an outstanding job (and I'm really picky)! I will definitely be a regular now! more

I have been coming into Olivine for years. I adore this little shop and the staff that work there! They have unique items that I have not seen elsewhere. I read a review that they are overpriced...they can be a little spendy. However, I believe that spending a little more to not look like a Nordstrom clone is worth it, and their items are great quality. As far as the staff...these girls are my bootie divas. They absolutely will tell you the truth about the way jeans fit you and whether or not that look good on you. That is one of the many reasons why I now will only purchase jeans from them. Honest staff, unbelievable jean selection! Rebecca Wendfeldt...skin and eyebrow extraordinaire! I have been going to her for a very long time and followed her all around Seattle. I am delighted that she is back at Olivine as an in-house esthetician! My brows have never looked better! If you have not had her do your brows you are missing out! She is THE BEST! Oh yeah, and she cleared up my blemishes when I was younger...she's magic! Go treat yourself at this little gem in Ballard, you will wonder why you didn't go in sooner! Olivine is a great little store that sells not too trendy but more in the classy category clothing, shoes and accessories. They have some really designer items like Cosabella, Kate Spade,. Miguelina. I just love the vintage perfume bottles. The customer service needs some improvement though and parking is kind of a pain. more

Olivine is a really great little store in the heart of downtown Ballard. They have clothes, shoes, accessories, lingerie, make-up, beauty products and candles. They carry a lot of small designers and upscale brands like Citizens of Humanity jeans. There is a good selection of pieces you won't find anywhere else. It can be hit or miss in finding your size, as most things only come in one or two different sizes. If you don't find something you like the first time you go there, it's worth going back later, as their inventory changes a lot. And the semi-annual sales are AMAZING. more

I heard so many great things about the selection of clothing, shoes, bags and lingerie at this store, so I decided to stop in one weekend to check it out. They definitely lived up to my expectations with regards to their selection, as they did have quite a collection of pretty, feminine dresses and tops, trendy handbags and a plethora of bath/beauty products. However, the one thing that deterred me from making a purchase was the fact that not one salesperson approached me (even though there was only one other person in the store), or even greeted me. I got a very unfriendly vibe and some not so nice looks which really took away from the shopping experience. more

I don't know what all the fuss is about - yes - it's a nice girly looking store - but what can you buy? It's so expensive for what it is - and who needs another pair of seven jeans to look like everyone else? I think stores like this make everyone in Seattle look like they walked out of Nordstrom - BORING. I've seen hair clips there for $20 that I've found on Cap hill for $4!!! Olivine is a feminine experience. I enjoy the stylish, yet classy selection in clothing. Don't get me wrong, Nordstrom is cool - but I guess I just had hoped that Olivine would have things that no one else had. . .But I've seen these $$$ brands all over town, and that's a bummer. I just hate looking like everyone else in town. . .Tons of selection for such a little shop. Totally, totally cute with a happy atmosphere.
