The space at 101 Denny is legendary in Seattle. To me it will forever be the home of Minnies Cafe and after that Whym Diner and Bar; with that, Blush has a lot to live to. Living practically across the street, I was excited to see the building being turned into a lounge. The North end of Belltown, doesn't have many hot spots and I was hoping this would be it.
The decor is very nice, white couches, pink neon and a lot of seating.
On my visit, my boyfriend and I were looking to ""go out"" but not more than a few blocks from home; Blush seemed like the perfect spot! The bartenders were very nice, but not too experienced. At one point, a patron asked for a new drink because his Jack and Coke was overflowing with chunks of ice and only half full. My vodka soda was fine-but it?s a vodka soda.
Belltown usually takes a while to heat up but we arrived at 10pm on a Saturday night and it was dead. There were three or so, tables full and the crowd though attractive, was of the ""horizontal license"" variety. Being in my early 30s, I felt old. One drink in and we decided to go to another spot.
I've heard the food is good, and I plan to try it again. I live right down the street and hope this place can survive.
Pros: Great Space
Cons: Empty
