CLOSED FOR SELLING COCAINEEE 2/10/2008

Rumored to have been closed because they were making the rent doing a little more than food.... the rumor is that they were pushing coke out of their place...rumored in the kilo size. sounds crazy but what else would explain a sudden shutdown. A friend of mine said there were tons of armed feds all around the place one day. Makes sense to me. That place was alwasy empty and god knows that rent must be huge. I am sure the news will fly soon! Explaination for a sudden shut....they didnt know they were closing until they were closed! Cons: they are closed more

I hope it really is closed... 2/6/2008

I was supposed to have a reservation last Thursday for 14 people at 8pm which they even requested my credit card for. I never received any notice that the restaurant was going out of business. Luckily I called to confirm a day before the reservation and no one ever answered the phone. I did some digging and ran across a couple of other website reviews that also said the restuarant had ""unexpectedly"" shut-down. Hopefully Citysearch will get rid of this listing soon. more

Closed 1/27/2008

I never ate there but this restaurant is right across the street from my apartment and as of 1/21/08 it appears to be closed. more

If you love steak...... 12/28/2007

My search for a great steakhouse is finally over and its easy to get to. Every thursday night we go out for drinks steaks and laughs to our favorite steakhouse blair perrone. After being there several times you never get bored with their different nightly specials, great service and great hosts Charlie Blair and Joe Perrone. You can talk to Charlie about the Yankees and kid Joe about the Mets they are always around to joke with. Pros: food, service and ambiance can not be beat anywhere Cons: can't think of one more

ben and who????? 12/28/2007

i didn't think that there was a steakhouse left in manhattan, especially a peter luger spinoff, that i hadn't tried until i heard about blair perrone. not only was the porterhouse the best steak that i've ever had it was also the classiest and the best service in town. the hot and cold seafood platters, an amazing lobster mac & cheese side topped off with the chefs special dessert a poached pear dipped in chocolate and nuts served with a homemade cinnamon vanilla icecream made our dining experience insurpassable to peter lugers and all of his merry men. my only regret is that it took me 2 years to find this fabulous steakhouse. Pros: everything more

You call this a steak place? 12/4/2007

If i'm eating at a steak place in a third world country i can understand their approach, in the sense they want to make a huge place attempting to capture the essence of the American way. Mistake as soon as we walked in as the place is built for tourists in a residential part of town. Probably the worst steak i have eaten in a while, undercooked is bearable as it can be put back on the fire but, there is no solution to a bad piece of meat. I can see it attract the party crowd that doesn't care much about the food and is there for the space. Pros: Attentive Service Cons: Bad food, touristy place more

A carnivore, an omnivore, and even a herbivore all liked this place. 11/14/2007

I live in Midtown with its plethora of steakhouses and have tried them all except, until last night, this place. I pass it?s great-looking mahogany bar daily on the way to and from work. The host, one of the two owners, recognized me from passing by so often and joked that it only took me 2 years to try the restaurant. I?m glad I did. The dining room, with its 20 foot ceilings, is stunning. Our waiter was quick with the drink order. I ordered a Chimay, my wife a Sav-Blanc, and her friend some fruity drink. The wine list is extensive and reasonable. The waiter described the specials and then patiently listened to my wife?s friend describe her vegetarianism. He was able to satisfy her with a plate of colorful veggies. My wife and I had the porterhouse which was as good as any we?ve had. Interesting specials, side dishes (saffron lobster mac ?n cheese, maple brussel sprouts), and desserts (pumpkin creme brulee). A carnivore, an omnivore, and even a herbivore all liked this place. Pros: steak, creative specials, considerate and proficient service, ambiance, wine and single malt lists, sport-savvy bartenders, hands-on owners Cons: was seated too promptly and couldn't get lubed up at the bar beforehand to deal with wife's friend more

Best Steak and much much more 10/26/2007

I was recommended by my friend to try Blair Perrone Steakhouse as he was always raving about how good the steaks are. I finally had a chance to go there with my wife and it has now since become my #1 favorite steak house plus place to eat. I say plus because the menu has so much to offer and then you have some awesome specials to choose from. my favorite is still the porterhouse, but there is a dish for everyone.....a must to go to Pros: food, service and ambiance can not be beat anywhere more

Better then the Luger spinoffs 10/26/2007

When I'm in the mood for a great steak, which is about once a week, I go to Blair Perrone Steakhouse. The porterhouse steak melts in your mouth and together with their traditional and non traditional sides, like the lobster mac & cheese, it just makes for a perfect meal. The service and ambiance are also excellent as are the hosts Charlie Blair and Joe Perrone. For a great steak I would travel to Brooklyn but thanks to Blair Perrone Steakhouse I don't have to. Pros: Best Steak more

Another Luger Wannabe Falls Short 10/25/2007

Yes, the space is nice. Yes, the service is good. But I go to a restaurant for the food, and the food at Blair Perrone just didn't cut it. The steak was cooked properly, but that's about the best thing I can say about it. It was flavorless, didn't appear to have any salt or seasoning, had no discernable char, and was a little chewy and fatty. On top of that, there wasn't even that much of it. The creamed spinach with goat cheese and bacon? Honestly, it looked like a gloppy brown-green mess, and that's how it tasted. The potatoes were OK. The tomatoes in the tomato and onion salad were not terribly ripe. Dessert was nothing special. The best part of the meal was the Canadian bacon appetizer; that they got right. If you want a Luger-style steak and don't want to go to Brooklyn, you're better off at Wolfgang's; it's the best of the Luger spawn. Pros: Nice space, good service Cons: Bad steak! more

Highly Recommended! Delicious food! 2/23/2007

Went there last night with a couple friends and had a great time. I have been there a few times before but they just added some new things to their menu that are amazing! My steak was perfectly cooked and the lobster mac and cheese was to die for. My friends also enjoyed their entrees and there were so many good appetizers and side dishes we ordered a bunch to share. The service was great and everything was delicious! Pros: New menu items, service, ambience more

the other night on a whim we passed by blairperrone steakhouse and had to enter because the aroma outside was tremendous. the hostess was as gracious, friendly and very accomodating. the bar was packed and very energetic. we tried the bp martini which is infused grey goose and very delicious. next was an unbelievable meal with incredible service. we started with the crab cocktail that was spectacular and then went for the porterhouse which was recommended by a very friendly and professional waiter named peter and was just as good. a definite to ask for him.. we passed on dessert but went for the single malts selection which was a big plus. Pros: all more

Not Just Another Luger's Spinoff 5/23/2006

I live three blocks from this jem and as a steak fan felt obligated to give it a try. I have been to the famed Luger's, so the menu and price came at no surprise. Overall, this is a great place for a dinner with friends or taking a client. The menu and prices are nearly identical to Luger's except here you can also get seafood and individual cuts of meat. The main difference is the service. We had to call and change the amount for our reservation twice. No problem. We were almost 45 minutes late. No problem. This would not have been the case at Luger's. When our food came we had 5 people dishing out the steak and sides. Also not the case at Luger's. All in all great experience, we didn't have to call 2 months in advance for an 8pm reservation on a Friday night. Pros: Service, Decor, Food more

High price but great steak and totally worth it 4/22/2006

Just went for the first time. The food was fantastic, porterhouse was tops and while pricey was just as good if not better than most of the other excellent but expensive steaks I've had in the city. Sides, starters and desserts were all good too. Service was fine, we were seated immediately and courtesously. The restaurant is very professional looking, but good for a date also since it was so much quieter and calmer than most of the other steakhouses in the city (Sparks comes to mind as one of the most chaotic.) The high ceilings add very much to the pleasant ambiance. Did not see them much, but it seemed like there were a number of private rooms and extra spaces around the restaurant that might make it good for a private party. Pros: Steak, Relaxing Ambiance Cons: Expensive, Bit out of the way more
