I have been coming to Bizarre for years. Atmosphere is casual and cozy, lighting is dim and you can choose...

My wife and I had been to Bizaare years ago, and recently went expecting another great expierence. We were very dissapointed. Our kid waiter was very short and rude, when asking his suggestion on wine, he stated "I'm not even old enough to drink, so just pick something". My wife and I couldn't believe it! We blew it off, and ordered 2 entrees to share. The NY strip and a salad. The food took 45 minutes to get to us. I wish I were joking. The steak was cooked very unevenly, and it was smothered in a sauce that tasted cheap. 45 minutes to receive a T.V dinner?? The salad on the other hand, was very good. Needless to say, we will not be returning. The staff is amature, the food lacking quality, very over priced. more

I walked into the place and sat down with my co-worker thinking this would be an expeirence. Then when asking the server about the gluten free options, she suggested the salads but didn't know much about anything else on the menu. As a person with celiac disease, when the place advertises its self as gluten friendly, I expect more than just having the option of salad. We ordered our drinks and as I took a sip, the coke tasted oily and disgusting as if the glass wasn't clean. At that point, my co-worker and I paid for our drinks, got up and left. The server was nice and very sweet but the bottom line was when I expect a place to advertise as a GF place, to have items that I can eat. I will not be patronizing this place again. more

I went with my wife to Bizaare this last Saturday. To say it kindly, we won't be returning. The service was awful, and our kid server, Ryan, was very rude and unbecoming. Upon asking about some Tapas from the menu, he shot us dirty looks and gave us short answers. When asking for a wine recomendation he replied "I'm too young to drink, I don't know what to tell you, just choose something". My wife and I were left feeling completely offended. We continued to order though, getting the toasted brucshetta, baked brie, and an entree of the "New York Strip" to share. We requested our food to come out all at once. 45 minutes later (I wish I were joking...) the baked bree came out with our server complaining about the kitchen. We were informed our entree will be "right out". But at that point we were just glad to have food in front of us. The baked bree was too brown and had burnt edges, and it was smothered in cheap tasting strawberry sauce. There were some apples and strawberries and a few (also cheap) crackers. Talk about a dissapointment. Then our new york strip came out. We were then informed that the kitchen forgot to prepare our toasted bruschetta. I told our server to forget about the bruschetta and that we no longer wanted it. Within the b\r first bite of the new york strip I knew that too, was a major dissapointment. It was rubbery and seemed as though it was made in the microwave. The mashed potatoes too, were awful, and tasted like something from a t.v dinner. It was smothered in cheap tasting bleu cheese and something that tasted of vinigar. This dish was 27 dollars!!! So naturally, we sent the dish back only to be informed by our server that we can't get it removed from our check, we can only replace it with another dish. In which, we were completely uninterested in receiving any more pathetic excuses for food this place has to offer. Needless to say, don't waste your time or money here. We've never expierenced such an awful meal out. more

Last week was my 2nd time dining at Bizaare. The first time was on a weekend and the service was a little slow, but this time coming on a week day it was a lot quicker. Our server was friendly but not very helpful when I had asked about some items on the menu. He didn't even sound like he knew what he was talking about. The food got to us in 12 minutes, so no complaints there. I ordered the shrimp and scallop scampi which was great and my friend had some type of salad that looked great as well. The girl who brought our food was extremely cute and friendly and I asked her about some cool places to go around the area for after our meal. She told us about an awesome bar that is now one of my favorite places to go. I'd honestly go back just to see her again. We ordered dessert which was pretty good but a little too pricy for the size. All in all it was a good expierence and every one there is very friendly. The atmosphere is great! more

This place used to have better food with much bigger portions. I noticed a change in owners right away. But I still go. The rissoto is good, they have great desserts, and a nice atmosphere. It's a great date place. I usually only go with a groupon though because it is overpriced. more

After reading the recent review by Lewis, I just have to say, you obviously didn't encounter the GM,, Debbie. Bizarre is a visual eclectic gem, but the food is ok and the service is hit or miss. The restaurant has been ther for about 15 years, with the original owner selling the place a few years back. For some reason he allows Debbie to run the place. She is the rudest manager I ever encountered in any business. She must have something on the owner, because any rational person would have fired her long ago. Double check your bill before you pay, just saying. Lewis, be careful who you recommend this restaurant too. They mat be lucky like yourself, but if they run into The Dragon Lady, nightmare waiting to happen more

After reading numerous negative comments about Bizaare Ave Cafe we entered the restaurant with a fair degree of trepidation. Much to our delight our dining experience was totally fantastic! Ryan, our waiter, was a gem, the food was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable. \r We walked into one of the most unique and eclectic restaurants I've ever seen. We all loved the decor and were informed that every item in the restaurant was for sale!\r We began our Groupon meal with the baked brie appetizer for four and it was the perfect way to begin a meal. The menu provided a wonderful selection of unusual and quite captivating choices. My friend and I chose the chicken with lobster stuffing over rice and our husbands ordered the steak and the vegetable platter. The portions were very impressive and all of us raved about the delicious food. The chilled Pinot Grigio with our entree really hit the spot.\r After a totally satisfying dinner, we asked Ryan if we could have our coffee at the leather sofa situated in the center of the downstairs room. He happily accommodated us and we couldn't stop raving about our dining experience - the ambiance, service and food were all impeccable! \r Another surprise awaited us when Ryan offered to give us a tour of the upstairs. The upstairs room was also charming but totally different from the downstairs. It was very chic and elegant and much to our surprise, had two covered gazebos for intimate dining. They reminded me of pictures I've seen of Moroccan restaurants.\r I have already told many friends about this great new dining discovery and we look forward to many more visits to the Bizaare Avenue Cafe! more

I used to love this place, as many of you did. I used to bring out of town visitors and friends who hadn't been, but ever since the new ownership/management took over a few years ago I have not have the best experience and have not been back at all in several years. Yes, the atmosphere was great, but that's about what it boiled down to... and atmosphere I can create for myself... more

Food was mediocre at best. Service was absolutely terrible to the point where we had to hunt the server and so called manager down. Other patrons were visible and audibly upset also. Never again.. more

I dined with friends this past weekend using a groupon we purchased that included one app, four entrees and a twist off bottle of wine. The menu choices were off a fixed menu. Our waiter was clueless to the menu claiming he had not tried anything from it and could not recommend anything off of it. I should have known then that we were in for an interesting meal. As I previously mentioned, the wine was of a twist off variety(how classy). The appetizer of empanadas were fair at best. Saving the best for last, the entrees if you want to call it that were atrocious. I have had crap before, but this garbage took the cake. The pork tenderloin read great on the menu and thats where the great ended. It was flavorless, poor in presentation and finished with raw apple slices on top. They outdid themselves with this garbage. The other entrees consisting of a stuffed chicke dish and a lobster pasta were equally terrible. This place In my opinion should just close up and stop pretending to be a restaurant. Their groupon they put out was another way to fleece the public. The idea of a groupon is to attract new business but whatever new business came there way wouln never come back to this craphole of a restaurant. By the way, I own a restaurant and if this is what I served I would not be in business for fifteen years. Please close up immediately for the sake of mankind!!!!!! more

on may 2nd. I could have gone anywhere to celebrat..I chose the Bizaare Avenue Cafe.. This was my second visit.. Wow I had the best Filet mignon, I ever had.. Cooked to perfection.. the presentation was extraordinary.. And, as a foody, I am quite the hard one to please.. We had a blast.. Our service was exceptional.. The cook prepared our feast beyond our expectations.. Again, I/We are foodies and are very much on the eclectic side, per se.. \r \r I highly recommed this awesome establishment.. I am giving it ***** all the way across the board.. Also, it is fun to see what items they have refreshed, for they sell many things.. So that, in and of itself, it fun to explore.. \r \r We will be back very soon.. \r \r respectfully submitted,\r \r cheryl anne gilpin - delray beach, florida. more

This was my first visit. The entrees were very good, albeit overprice. The mussels as a starter were chewy and gritty. The atmosphere was unique and a pleasant change. The main problem was the ridiculous slowness of the service. 45 minutes from when we sat down to get the mussels. Took another 75 minutes after the mussels to get the entree. Total dining experience took over 2 hours and 30 minutes. No apologies from staff or even recognition that guest were upset. Ruined the whole experience and would never go back. Has huge potential, but seems to be lacking any true staff dedication. more

The atmosphere is soo cozy, you feel like your in a Victorian sitting room. Ha tha baked Brie for app,it was incredible. Tomato soup was a hearty choice. We had the pork chops and short ribs dinners. Very tender and juicey. All courses were large portions, and well worth the price.Even the wine and beer were large portions. The dessert and coffee were perfect . The servicers were top notch. We were so comfortable we didn't want to leave. This find is a must! more

Went to Bizaare Ave Cafe for dinner last night and had the worst dinner experience I've ever had. I had been there before on a weeknight, and the service was good, and food was excellent. Last night, we arrived at 7pm, ordered dinners 5min later, and our meals did not arrive. When we requested to speak with a manager at 8:30, he simply claimed they were busy. When I told him that every table around (all of which arrived within the last 30-40min) had gotten their meals, and we had not, he simply said that ours would be out soon. After 10 additional minutes, we asked for our check, in which the manager tried to make us pay for our meals saying "take them to go when they're ready." Atmosphere is excellent, food apparently doesn't exist for the middle table, and the manager was rude, and careless. Don't waste your time or money there. more

A group of us were looking for a good place to meet, me being from Delray and the rest from Palm Beach Gardens. I hadn't been there years and was very happy with the menu, the service, the food was excellent and we all had a wonderful time. The atmosphere is so unique and beautiful. Truly an experience and great place for wine, dining and company! more

My girlfriend and I recently bought a groupon for Bizaare Ave Cafe and were pleasantly surprised. We walked in and found ourselves among other customers sitting at both couches and tables... How cool is that?? We ordered drinks, and then an appetizer. The fun-do was delicious. Although the wait time on our food took longer than expected, it was worth the wait. I had the chicken francaise which was perfect. Besides, our waiter had the decency to let us know ahead of time that the kitchen was a little backed up. Needless to say we will be back! more

Who would have thought that Lake Worth had such a gem! My husband Ronnie and I wanted to have a romantic dinner for two, and let me tell ya, we got it. We had an excellent server named Ryan (cutiepatootie) The decor is fantastic, we sat on our own little couch with a coffee table that lifted right up to us!! are you kidding? The food was too good to put into words, but i will. The baked brie is a must have. The entrees were perfect portions, and the desserts were homemade! To top it all off LIVE MUSIC am I dreaming? omg more

This was one of the best New Years Eve My husband and I had in a long time. We stumbled on Bizaare Ave Cafe from Groupon last year and have been coming ever since. We never celebrate New Years out but chnaged this year and was so happy we came. The atmosphere, the food , service and music was awesome. We are usually ones that do not go to Restaurants on holidays but this was an experience we will forward on to all our friends. We were all made to feel so comfortable by our server Matt..and to top it off, the owner Debbie bought our table a drink to celebrate the new year. Thanks so much for a wonderful beginning of 2012. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 1/1/2012

The absolute worst dining experience of my life. I ate there new years eve. It was a fixed menu for $65. We had reservations for 8pm and were seated in the upstairs dining room in a timely fashion. There were only 3 other tables at that time. We sat for about 20 minutes before our beverage order was taken. I understand that it was a holiday and we were a party of 10 so that didn't bother us.\r We received our appitizers about an hour and 15 min after we sat down. There was a choice of 4 appitizers and the waiter stated that they were out of one of the choices. We were basically ignored for our entire time there. We consistently had empty glasses. We sat with dirty appitizer plates in front of us for over an hour.\r The main course came two and a half hours after we sat down. At this point things got absolutely terrible. The food was cold and indelible. One person in our party did not receive her food until after everyone had been served for several minutes. Several of us had ordered the filet and lobster combo. It was absoulutley horrendous. Besides being cold, the lobster was undercooked, tough. It looked like it had come from a frozen Costco package, still half frozen. The potatoes looked like something out of a tv dinner.\r We flagged down a waiter after about 10 minutes and told him the situation. At this point we had been seated for almost 3 hours. What can they do? Microwave 10 meals? We were not willing to wait ANY longer. 6 out of 10 of us didnt touch our meals besides trying a bite. We sent out meals back and asked to speak to a manager.\r The customer service we received from the owner was the most horrific experience of my life. This woman was not accommodating at all (we didn't even ask for the meals to be comped) she was extremely rude and at one point used profanity and said "what the f@&k do you want me to do" she brought us our check saying she took care of it by taking off one of the meals. 6 of us sent our food back and no one had the desert that was included when she brought the check. We tried to speak to her trying to rectify the situation, and she refused. We overheard her screaming at the manager. We also noticed several other tables sending back their food due to it being cold. Basically we split the bill paying $70 a person for a diet coke, baked brie, and the worst dining experience of my life. The owner is the rudest, most unprofessional woman I have ever met in my life and I will NEVER eat at this restaurant again. The only bright experience was the manager Matt who was kind and understanding regarding the situation, but unfortunately was unable to override the owner. more
