I like the fries.... 1/3/2012

Love the bar atmosphere here and the couches by the windows for people watching. It seems like everyone's birthday party either begins or end here. I HATE the signing though. If I wanted to hear someone belt out their singing voice, I'd stay home and watch American Idol. Also the food is disgusting. Except the fries. Fries are good. more

Pizza and subs 11/18/2010

Like the pizza, liked the garlic cheese balls. The whole office smelled like garlic afterward. Totally worth it! more

BEST Garlic Cheese Balls! 2/23/2010

This place is so yummy! It is not a place where you want to dine-in, as they have limited seating because it's small, so just take the food to go. They honestly have the best pizza and garlic cheese balls in town. No exaggeration! more

Great Pizza and Sandwiches 8/23/2009

This has to be one of the best pizza/sandwich spots on the island. Garlic cheese b a l l s are great and highly recommend the Beef Brisket sandwich. Only disadvantage is the only take cash or check. Pros: Delicious Food Cons: Does not accept credit/debit card. more

I'm not going again... 4/18/2008

Instead of a 20-25 min. pizza, I had them make it into a sandwich. I figured it would be faster, but the sandwich ended up taking a long time! Atleast 15 min. I wasn't really counting, but my husband was ready to just get up and leave. Oh man, it was really salty and oily... I should've gone to Subway Pros: I guess it's local Cons: the food more

Fantastic pizza, sandwiches and garlic cheeseballs 3/13/2008

No longer in it's old shack location on Puuloa St - it has moved to a strip mall on Paiea St near the airport (only about 1.5 miles from old location). Lots of parking now and it has air conditioning and a little more seating too.\r \r While it isn't really a hole-in-the-wall place now, they've done a fine job decorating the inside to give a nice local feel.\r \r While pizza is, like all food, a matter of personal preference, I found it to be the best pizza I've ever had in the past half century! Don't miss the cheeseballs - if you are a new visitor, ask if they still offer a free order to new customers.\r \r This is one of three places I always take visitors and which they always want to go back to. The others are Matsumoto's Shave Ice on the North Shore and Duke's restaurant on Waikiki Beach. Pros: Food and ambiance more

best pizza in 2500 miles 2/26/2008

this joint is a local hole in the wall 5 minutes away from the airport. great customer service and most importantly excellent food. theyve got mondo sandwiches and have apparently sold over 6 million doughy breadballs of cheesy garlicky deliciousness. the pizzas are piled with ingredients and you cant go wrong with their sumo special with unique toppings like portugese sausage and kalua pork. theyve shakes and desserts for those with a sweet tooth so make sure you save some room. 5 star highly recommended. Pros: food parking location location more

takes time to make perfect pizza 12/31/2007

great food! the garlic cheeseballs are amazing! they are good with marinara(you gotta ask for it). The pizzas are decent size and are delicious. I haven't had any of the sandwiches, but I have been told they are made to impress as well. service is slow and sometimes non responsive, but it has gotten better since they moved by the airport building. nice atmosphere, but sometimes really busy. if you are in a rush, simply call ahead and let em know what time you need it at. they have always had it waiting, still piping hot and delicious. good parking at their new location. Pros: garlic cheese ba11s! Cons: wait more

POOR and SLOW service doesn't bother them. 5/9/2007

SLOW and POOR service. Airport location with many business customers. We were told 15-minutes for Pizza which ends up being 20-25 minutes and no time to eat because we have to go back to work.\r A sandwich took almost 30 minutes. 3 customers waiting in line. They take too many phone orders and can't help the walk-in customers. CALL 1-HOUR BEFORE TO ORDER and maybe you'll have 5 minutes to swallow the food and run back to work! The employee didn't seem to care that the service was slow even though she told some customers that the order was on RUSH ? Once they got your $$$ you have no choice but to wait...! Similar rating found at their Salt Lake City Utah Location. Pros: Tasty food - can be found elswhere Cons: SLOW AND GRUMPY SERVICE more

Cravable! 4/13/2007

My mouth still waters about this tiny hole in the wall. I love their pizza, but I am even MORE in love with their HUGE Pork or brisket Sandwiches. These things are so mouth wateringly deliscious that I have continued to talk about them for the better part of a decade. I havent sank my teeth into one of these babies in 4 long years but will stop there when leaving the airport on my way to my hotel the next time I am there!!! OH, and they are big enough for 2 people, and a steal for just over $6. Pros: Great food, Great price Cons: Super Small more

Best Pizza For Price 10/22/2006

We ordered 2 large pizzas, one pepperoni, one sausage & black olive as well as the Garlic Cheese (bite size bread). Wow!!!!! The garlic cheese bread thingies were finger licking good with the cheese & butter. The pizza was so fresh and filling that we ended up with almost a whole pizza left. We normally have to order 2 larges to feed the family with no leftovers. Delivery isn't offered, but the staff is friendly and the wait time from calling it in to pick up even when it's the busiest.... far outways competition. We have made this destination a weekly splurge, even on a busy Friday night. Looking forward to trying out all the combinations on the menu. more

First try 3/15/2006

Not much sitting down space and a real hole in the wall but the food is great. We tried pizza and it was really good a little greasy but probably why it was so good. The garlic balls are totally irresistible. Great place to take visitors more

Broke the mout 5/18/2005

By far the best pizza on the islands. Hard to find but worth looking for. Pros: Good food, Good value, Good food Cons: parking, location, location more

Great food 11/5/2003

It's always a dilemma when I visit Big Kahuna's because I have to choose either the pizza or a sandwich. Either way, you will be more than satisfied with your choice. The sandwiches are made on their own bread they make fresh. Pizza toppings are creative, fresh and generous. The only negatives are very limited seating and lack of a public restroom. I am certain you will find the food more than compensates for these drawbacks and you will be a repeat customer like me! Pros: generous portions, good value, local feel Cons: limited seating, no restrooms, limited parking more

I thought I had had the best... 10/28/2002

not until I came here. I have my fave pizza joint in LA, and I can say that I've had authentic Chicago style pizza, but nothing compares to the tastiness of Big Kahuna's pizza. The crust and dough is thick, but light and the veggies were fresh and tasty. I could also just eat their garlic cheese balls. delicious light balls of bread, with garlic and cheese smothered all over it. Aw man, when I go back, this is gonna be the joint I go to over and over again. Pros: Fresh Veggies, Original Pizza combos, Garlic Cheese Balls more
