WORST VET IN LA COUNTY 11/1/2008

This place is horrible!! Every negative review is 100% accurate. The only reason to ever bring your animal here is if it was hit by a car at 3 am and your animals life was at risk but be ready for excessive fees. more

A PET HOSPITAL WORTH THE WAIT 10/31/2008

AS A FAIRLY LONG TERM CLIENT FOR MY CAT The waiting i not bad if making appointment but wroth a wait. The shop with foods has expanded and has many good items. WOW. what a bad experience. waited over 2 hours. was given a huge bill. they required a 75 percent deposit and then mis-diagnosed my cats medical condition. AVOID THIS PLACE. Pros: NONE Cons: EXPENSIVE. MIS-DIAGNOSED. OWNER HAS VET MEDICAL BOARD VIOLATIONS more

Worst Vet ever! 8/21/2008

Adopted 2 kittend from cat connection at Bev Oaks. So I took my kitties there for their necessary shots and prepaid spayed/neuter. Worst service ever, excessive long waits (with or without appt) After my girl cat was neutered she got a lump in her belly wear they had cut her. I took her back and after waiting 2hours (with an appt) the vet starts giving me all these options as to what could be wrong. But says she would like to "just cut her open and really find out whatas wrong. After scheduling the appt. I make an appt at McClave vet on Hart ( absolutely amazing) to get their opinion. McClave does an ultra sound on the lump, gives me some antibiotics and says she'll be fine. A week later my lil girl was fine and never had to be cut open "just to see" If you love your pet dont ever take them to Beverly oaks vet. more

STAY AWAY. WORST VET IN CALIFORNIA. INVESTIGATED MANY TIMES BY CALIF. VET BOARD 6/24/2008

dirty, rude and incompetent. dr. leach can be abusive to clients. avoid this vet hospital at all costs. just look at all the bad reviews. city/state authorities have investigated the hospital on many occasions. Dirty clinic..I suggest finding another vet 5/24/2008

I have mixed feelings about this place and I'll tell you why. I brought my 9 yr old Yorkie into this vet on a Sunday night because he had diaherra that just wouldn't go away. The first thing I noticed was that the office was pretty old. The girl at the front desk was nice though, she signed me in and we waited patiently in the lobby. After about 10 min, they moved us into an exam room. We waited there for another 20-30 minutes, because a bigger emergency came in. No problem. I waited patiently b/c if MY dog had a big emergency, I'd want him to be seen ASAP. \r \r The issue with waiting that long in the exam room is that I got a chance to look around and see how dirty the office was. It was gross. Dust bunnies floating across the ground. Rusty exam table. The barbicide disinfectant was slimy and green (its supposed to be blue). And the worst thing was the thermometer they used to take my dogs temperature. They used a digital thermometer that was sitting a glass and didnt put any protectiv more

WISH THIS SITE GAVE NEGATIVE RATINGS...HORRIBLE PLACE 1/28/2008

I came across this so called "Animal Hospital? because my puppy out of nowhere started vomiting and had uncontrollable diarrhea in the middle of the night and this was the closest 24 hours vet office to my house. Being the only person there at 2 AM they still made me wait 45 minutes in the waiting room and more than an hour in the observation room (mind you that my puppy throw-up twice already while we waited and no one seemed to care much, but that?s besides the point) before the doctor came. Not even looking at my puppy or anything the Doctor just came and said they will need to do several test such as two X-Ray exams (one lower body and the second upper body?WHAT????) and a blood exam before he can see and do anything for me. He quickly pulled out a contract and an estimated invoice for $700+ and told me to sign it and give it to the front desk as he left the room. So after 2 hours of waiting its now 4 AM and I denied signing the $700+ contract so they told me in a nice way to more

AVOID THIS PLACE - UNCARING AND INCOMPENTANT 12/12/2007

This place is horrible. DO not use it even for ER - go to Studio City or to McClave in Reseda or VCA in West LA. My dog was rushed there for emergency surgery and all they could do was keep asking for the bill. I kept trying to transfer her out and they said if I did she would die...I was not allowed to see her and she ultimately died! I used to volunteer with a rescue group that used them and I was appalled at the treatment of some animals. Several years ago, I took an ill dog from the shelter there - it was a sunday evening and I told them he needed help right away. They stuck him in a cage, no one did anything and he died the next day. They are overpriced, have caused the death and extreme suffering of many animals. You will wait forever, overcharged for substandard care. THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN. They are thieves!! more

AVOID THIS ANIMAL HOSPITAL LIKE THE PLAGUE.. 11/2/2007

rude, mean and awful employees. the vets are incompetent and dont care about your animals. the prices are high. on my last visit I witness a fight between a receptionist and a client.\r \r avoid this place at all costs. more

They suck and are overpriced 10/29/2007

I had gone here for about a year before I became fed up. Long waits and unprofessional front desk is a constant. Saw two different Dr's here and they never really came to the route of the problem, but never stopped testing my cat and charging me hundreds of dollars. I went to Studio City Animal Hospital and was so shocked to leave after a visit, a few tests, and with medication for less than $200. \r Do not go to Beverly Oaks!! more

in a word. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE PLACE. 10/25/2007

Its all about money. the staff and doctors are violent and abusive towards animals and clients. A staff member assaulted me with a clip board. THEY HAVE BEEN INVESTIGATED NUMEROUS TIMES BY THE STATE BOARD OF VETERINARY MEDICINE.\r \r Can anyone please shut this place down. more

wow.. impressed with uneducation of staff..worst service ever... 9/25/2007

i seriously think they either get high at this clinic, or there's no education and randoms off the street are hired... im filing a complain at BBB, all you who agree, lets shut this place down... Also, i will demand they do random drug tests.. the girl upfront forgot what she was saying 4 times, she sounded as if she was either drunk or high on merijuana.. more

Horrible Emergency Hospital --- Money, Money, Money! 9/25/2007

Koa (2 month old kitten) ate too much can food with Salmon oil. An hour after eating it she started getting really sick (throwing up and foaming at the mouth), afraid of dehydration I took her to Beverly Oak Emergency even though I should know better. They wanted me to sign a piece of paper saying I?d agree to pay a bill of $732.00 to START treatment. I was furious to say the least ...I said, ?you haven?t even seeing the cat and you?re asking me all these tests not even knowing what emergency she has?? ----I crossed $530.00 of the bill and asked them to put some fluids on her and give her some medication to prevent vomiting. I wanted to get her stabilized until 7:30AM when I could rush her to my own Vet. I'm an animal behaviorist for 23 years and I've around sick pets thousands of time, I knew all she had was a bad stomachache. The attitude this Beverly Oaks gave me was absurd ...first when they saw I wasn?t going to pay the starting fee, they never put us in a examination more

REFUSED TO GIVE RECORDS TO CRUELTY TASK FORCE WITHOUT MONEY PAID 9/20/2007

I rescued a cat and took him here, where Dr. Leach did great work on him, and got him somewhat stable. The Animal Cruelty Task Force needed copies of the medical record in order to present the case to the DA. This clinic refused to give the records until I paid the bill in full!! This was a criminal investigation! I had already paid half, and I explained I was fundraising to cover the other half, and would get the money to them within the next week, but they did not care, they just wanted the money. They were so cold and uncaring! And to top it off, the kitty died. Dr. Leach was great, but the fact that they wouldn't give the paperwork to the cops so the case could move forward just made me sick. I will never go there again. more

Its all about the $ there- 9/16/2007

This so called Pet hospital, is so uncaring. The thing they care about is charging for every little thing, if its really necessary or not! $$$ is what its all about there! more

One of the all time worst! 7/1/2007

Dr. Leach is my dogs vet and has been for many years. I have paid in many many thousands and when Boris nearly died they did help him get better. It was shockingly expensive and I have referred them numerous clients and never received a discount. I heard they treat many celebrity clients so I figured the services were good. However, in my experience you have to track them down and call repeatedly for results which they always tell you they have to call you back, after the third or fourth request and you have told them that you have called back 3 or 4 times they will call you back. However the staff often loses information, double bills you and many other things. Boris doesn't like going there and begins whining and crying immediately pulling away on his leash and I feel terrible I wasn't listening to little boo. This is the third time they lost blood work results- requesting I bring Boris back for the tests- yet later my bill reflects that two tests were charged for! The incompetence o more

my 5 yo dog went in, never came out! 6/6/2007

My five year old sheltie went to this vet because he was throwing up. turned out he had pancreatitis. They told us he would be OK he just needed to stay in their hospital for a couple of days. He did not make it. He passed away alone in that hospital without any of his loved ones there. We never got to say goodbye. When we spoke to the vet over the phone he kept referring to our beloved dog as a female. Our dog was a male. In this horrific time for our entire family the doctors and nurses treated his tragedy as nothing more than routine business. They refused to release his body for an autopsy until the many thousands of dollars in bills were paid. This happened 10 years ago and is still one of the most horrible events in my entire families lives. more
