The place is a total ripoff. They haven't really done anything to my dog, anything, but nevertheless charged me bunch of money. The stuff is a bunch of stoners. The adoption crew is the only normal people in there. if to go there that only for emergency needs (since they work on Sundays). more

small claims court to start! 3/25/2010

If there is anyone that would like to join me in a lawsuit against this vet, please contact me. Everyone is right, it is the worst place ever. I am going to court on April 2, 2010 for a small claims case, but was thinking, how great it would be to have a small army to join. They need to be closed down! \r The cat connection attached as well, these people do not care about animals in any way, it's a total facade! more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC!! 2/25/2010

Beverly Oaks has employed numerous receptionists throughout the years, and I have had negative experiences with all of the ones that I have encountered. The last receptionist with whom I had the displeasure of dealing was rude, incompetent, and completely uneducated.\r \r My sister also had a run-in with one of the receptionists a few months ago. She brought her dog to them for a routine exam, and the vet tech decided to weigh the dog when my sister arrived. Then, after waiting for an hour to be seen, my sister decided that she was unwilling to wait any longer. She should have just waked out, but she was polite enough to inform the receptionist that she was leaving. The receptonist then presented her with a $50.00 bill. My sister was stunned. She couldn't understand why she should pay FIFTY DOLLARS for her dog to have been WEIGHED! She told the receptionist that she refused to pay the bill, and the receptionist threatened to CALL THE COPS!!!! My sister reluctantly paid the bill after she more

Best of L A? 2/11/2010

I was absolutely stunned when I heard that Beverly Oaks had won the Best of L A designation. They must have paid someone off because, based on my experience and most of the others here, they should be Worst of L A! I've been going to them since 2006 and although I always knew that they were expensive, I didn't have any major problems with them, until my dog was diagnosed with cancer late last year. They performed a biopsy on her which cost over $2,200 which was done incorrectly (they targeted the wrong area and the results were inconclusive). My darling girl couldn't even walk after they got through with her. They then wanted to do a second biopsy, saying that this sort of thing is quite common where it needs to be done twice. There was no excuse that this needed to be done a second time. They took numerous x-rays and had ultrasound at their disposal. I was so upset that my dog had to go through the horrible pain of another biopsy because the doctors in question (Drs. Leach and Raj) we more

If You Must Leave Your Dog Overnight, This Is a Good Place 1/20/2010

Beverly Oaks Animal Hospital was highly-recommended to me when I had to board my dog when I had to leave for a last-minute business trip. I knew "T" wouldn't be happy being left in a place she didn't know, but the staff was welcoming and caring, making her feel at home immediately. They were very attentive to her habits -- from favorite food, to best toy, to habits (what time she needed to be walked); so even though she was in strange surroundings, some of her routine was the same. While she was there, she had a full veterinary exam and flea bath. When I went to get her, I thought she'd jump into my arms in order to escape to our home. Instead, she greeted each staff member with a wag of her tail and lick, and then jumped into my arms. They did good for my dog and my conscience. more

long time client no more!! 1/11/2010

I have been going to beverly oaks hospital for many years and I really liked Dr Leach, but after spending over 10,000 on my animals, they both came down with heart disese, I probley have seen all the doctors there and the worst has to be Dr Franklin, my dog required a lot of medication and I started ordering it thru petmeds. They would take so long to approve it I would run out, so I would call them to get a few meds untill the delivery came. On one ocasion I was lectured by a recepionist on how unfair it was to other clients for me to request those meds with out 24 hour notice, I went down there and was told by the receptionist and dr franklin they couldnt honer my request, Even though the other doctors did. I got very emotional and told them you gave my dog a death sentence and now you refuse to give me a few pills to get him by (whichI always paid for) because you took days to approve the petmeds order. the waiting room started to get crowded and dr franklin finally relented as long more

beverly oaks animal hospital is the worst vet experience I've ever had 11/24/2009

These people prey on the fear of owners of sick and injured animals by price gouging. I've visited lots of vets both for my own pets and fosters, and I've never seen prices like this. Their facility is also very dirty. I wiped up a mess my dog made on the floor and came up with black grime. Don't go here if you can help it. more

Beverly Oaks is Great! 11/16/2009

I've been working with animal rescue for years, so I've been to the vet's FAR more often than I've been to any human doctor. When I read the Yelp reviews, I hesitated about going there, but I really needed an emergency vet provides 24-hour care, not just off-hour care. I've been to Beverly Oaks three times now, and I still don't understand all the bad reviews they're getting on Yelp. My experiences have been very different. The entire facility is clean, organized and attractively decorated. All the staff members we met were competent, friendly and personable, as were the doctors (we saw Dr. Leach and Dr. Turner). Yes, they're expensive, but their prices are similar to what I'd expect in similar practices: 24-hour care, very experienced doctors and modern facilities and equipment. We went in for an emergency situation and were very satisfied with the care our foster dog received. We can't afford to use Beverly Oaks for our regular vet, of course (we spend thousands of dollars a month more

Open 24 hrs but.... 11/2/2009

Beverly Oaks animal hospital has its good moments, and I would trust them with surgery, and their outside specialists, but PR is lousy. Focus is finely tuned to $ generation machine like a people's hospital to squeeze every last dime out of you. Cancer surgeon was supposed to call me with a price for liver surgery (after I spent about $2000 on tests) and office manager focused on cost of surgeon consult- apparently I'm supposed to pay to get a price quote for surgery. Manager won't discuss negative on-line ratings. K-9 loft opened across street and I would also try them. Parking for Beverly Oaks is excellent, on street in front and they have a back lot. Plus is that they are open 24hrs. more

Beware:Leach Laurel Dvm - Beverly Oaks Animal Hospital is 10/10/2009

Beware!!! This is the cruelist most inhumane animal hospital I have been too!!! Beware of the technicians because if they make a mistake with your pet, you will have to pay for an add'l office visit to consult with Dr. Leach. She will not speak with you or look at the expressed problem unless you agree to pay for her time!! Outragous! more

beverly oaks animal hospital is the worst vet ever. 9/1/2009

The worst Vet experience i've ever had in 20 years of owning animals. Do NOT go here under ANY circumstances. I've never felt less sure of a diagnosis, the procedure by which to diagnose, or the doctor's skill, she herself didn't seem sure. They charged me more for digital x rays than i've ever paid, human or animal. They also make you pay in full same day. The receptionist didn't seem like she could care any less and mumbled. She avoided eye contact and never smiled even though i was obviously felt worried about my cat. I felt so anxious the whole time i was there (which was 3 hours, one person in front of me briefly). My cat has also never acted so scared and uncomfortable in any other vet office or anywhere on this earth for that matter , and she's not a kitten. The weighing and temperature tech didn't even set the scale to zero first and then really wondered for a moment whether or not the reading of 3 pounds was right for a full grown cat. I picked her up and said it p more

+++++++ please read ++++++++++++++++++++ The worst! Horrible!, horrible, horrible.. Don't think about going there! The guy at the front desk did not show .01% concern during an emergency with my dog, he started telling me prices thinking I couldn't afford it and we can, told me it would be half an hour to get someone to look at my pet, 40 minutes later, he comes back and tells me it'll be another hour. The guy was leaning on the counter as I struggled to open the door with my pet and struggled to leave out the door. Today I find out that the BBB gives them an F rating and 12 out of 15 reviews on one site are 1 star... This is a really nice part of Los Angeles and you get this kind of service. I would quit if I were a doctor there or insist on getting it together. When you see that you have an F rating with the BBB.. you work on your business. Gosh. I'm pissed off at how people can run things and get away with it. +++++++ please read ++++++++++++++++++++++ oh.. and they lost out more

Dr. Leach is the best of the best, hands down 8/2/2009

Juliana, I'd like to inform you that no, the place isn't the best for boarding, but as a veterinarian, Dr. Leach is the most professional woman you will ever come across and knows her stuff. The reviews on how the employees are treated were written years ago- Check the dates. Dr. Leach is not nearly as profitable in the business as she should be, because she goes the extra mile every time for every animal she treats. She keeps her employees in check and will not accept any behavior from them that is less than professional. I've had personal experience in the work field there and to ILONA S- Dr. Leach does not recommend euthanization unless there is no other option. Clearly you were looking for an easy way out with your cat rather than giving it the proper care recommended by BOAH for the cat to survive. more

A rat-hole masquerading as a legitimate business. 7/28/2009

I'm sadistically pleased to see how many bad reviews this place has gotten. If you care at all about your pet, DO NOT take them here. I needed a place to board two of my cats for a week because I was in the process of moving and couldn't keep them anywhere else on short notice. I searched online and found that Beverly Oaks Animal Hospital had boarding available immediately. I was told the accommodations were very nice, and that my cats would be "spoiled". I figured they should be since I was paying about $1,000 for the week, plus grooming. When I got there, they led me to a room upstairs that smelled kind of gross and was not at all the cat-haven I had imagined. There were different sized cages placed all around the room, and that was it. Maybe I was expecting too much, but I thought there might be more room for them to move around and some toys or something. It broke my heart to leave them there like that, but this was nothing compared to what would happen during the course of more

beverly oaks animal hospital is A RIP OFF! .BEWARE..WORST EVER 7/4/2009

BEVERLY OAKS IS TOTAL RIPOFF, PADS BILLWITH UNNECESSARY MEDICATIONS! BEWARE!!!OVER PRESCRIBES MEDICINES WHEN YOURANIMAL IS SICK OR ABOUT TO DIE..This place has too many people running around the office to make it appear to 'look good'. It is run by one woman who is never available when you have a question or want to challenge a billing error. This horribleHospital is a GOLD Mine for it's owner. Be prepared to overpay for INFERIOR CARE. My cat was dying. No change of reversing the condition and they sentme home with six different medications including4 injections to be given daily for a week. She wasFIV POSITIVE; I took her to another vet and onehour later they agreed to euthanize her. The place has a large staff and payroll to meet...and YOU PAY FOR IT. I HAVE SIX CATS AND THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. CLASSIC EXAMPLE OF A SCAM HOSPITAL...STAY AWAY!!! They take advantage of peoplewho are traumatized with a sick or dying animal.,and overcharge and over prescribe. WATCHOU more

beverly oaks is the best around......"four out of four paws" 6/29/2009

Hands down the best and most caring place around.Dr. Leach is the best vet you can get.She goes the extra mile every time.I have been taking my rottie. there for ten years and we can sleep better for it.They know what to do and how to do it. When you have a special little one (140 lbs.) you want the very best for your baby.If your looking for bargains you get what you pay for. They are the best place in town and for me that's what counts.Dr. leach is the greatest , Pauly and I thank you. From 1-5 woofs they get a 10 plus. In response to just a few other people's comments. It's not all about the bucks, mister business man.Try staying in business by telling your creditors I'll pay you this much in three weeks. Lets see how long you stick around. Then ask your staff, bank and all the other people that you owe money too the same.thing.- Guess what ???,You'll be out of business and on your ass in a New York minute . i hope you like selling hot dogs to people who don't want to pay you and for more
