Best

Excellent thin crust pizza, even better if you ask for it well done.

Worst

I'd seen the positive reviews for Beek's, and I was sort of saving my first stop there for a night when I really wanted that neighborhood best-kept-secret mom and pop style pizza....

I had such high hopes 1/10/2011

I'd seen the positive reviews for Beek's, and I was sort of saving my first stop there for a night when I really wanted that neighborhood best-kept-secret mom and pop style pizza. Tonight was that night. I placed a phone order for a large pizza and drove to pick it up. Now that I'm home, I have to say I'm disappointed. Did I catch them on a bad week? The sausage on this pizza has no flavor. It tastes like warm ""this ain't a vegetable"". The sauce also has no flavor. The crust is nice and crisp, but it's not enough to hold this pie up as tasty. Maybe if I'd ordered olives and peppers, the short comings would be hidden, but I wanted a simple two item pizza to make me like taking the risk. I can't say I'd go back. That's a lotta cash out the window for something I have to add spices to in order to consume. more

Great Delivery forget the Chains 8/5/2008

Good crusty cracker crumb crust (they really mix up the dough and toss it around before your very eyes) , fresh tomato sauce with evidence of having grown on a real tomato plant, authentic buttery mozzarella cheese, and great sausage. It's the real kind, unlike the preformed stuff. Eat it there, and enjoy a side of garlicky cheese bread and an orange soda. Don't be fooled by the ambiance of the St. Louis Park location. It's a hole in the wall type place with years of personality ground into it. If it bothers you - order out. The kids will stone you though for not staying so they can scribble on the chalk board and grab a 25 cent ride on the old dirt bike. The juke box hasn't worked in years, but you won't care because the pizza is just so good. Great place to go with kids. Order ahead and it will be ready when you arrive. Pros: great value for really wonderful cracker bread crust pizza, delivery service Cons: ambiance more

Best pizza of the Twin Cities 7/27/2004

Beeks has been king on the mountain for pizza in the Twin Cities for decades. The fresh ingredients and thin crust combine for a royal combination every pizza. Hold it level, hold it straight. This box of heat has a fate. Not unlike the one before. Put together with adore. Watch the cook make your pizza behind a window in the entryway. Dine in or take out. Recent commercial developments around Beek's Lyndale Avenue location in Minneapolis threaten to take down the king. The historic Boulevard theater across the street already fell victim to Hollywood Video despite a neighborhood outcry. Help Beeks keep it's crown. Eat at Beeks!!! more
