I'd seen the positive reviews for Beek's, and I was sort of saving my first stop there for a night when I really wanted that neighborhood best-kept-secret mom and pop style pizza. Tonight was that night.
I placed a phone order for a large pizza and drove to pick it up. Now that I'm home, I have to say I'm disappointed. Did I catch them on a bad week? The sausage on this pizza has no flavor. It tastes like warm ""this ain't a vegetable"". The sauce also has no flavor. The crust is nice and crisp, but it's not enough to hold this pie up as tasty. Maybe if I'd ordered olives and peppers, the short comings would be hidden, but I wanted a simple two item pizza to make me like taking the risk.
I can't say I'd go back. That's a lotta cash out the window for something I have to add spices to in order to consume.
