With its laid-back, homey atmosphere—tea and candy on the coffee table in the waiting area, cheerfully kitschy decor, and pictures of local performers on the walls—Beehive Salon exemplifies all that is neighborhoody and creative about Williamsburg, minus the attitude. You might run into Beehive’s stylists behind the bar of one of the area’s numerous nightspots, or reading from a novel-in-progress at a local coffeeshop, but they are as friendly as they are funky, and give great haircuts and other services at reasonable prices ($35-$45 men's cut, $45-55 women's cut). This local bastion of hipster coiffure—Betty Page bangs are well represented here—draws a loyal clientele, from Brooklyn and beyond.
