Home away from Home! 4/30/2008

My girls, Annie and Peanut, have been to Barks 5th Avenue many times, and they love it! Each time I come for them they are happy and excited to see me, but they are also calm and playful with the staff. The staff are the best! Annie has a bad back, so they make sure she is not stressed by having to climb into an upper kennel. If it is available, they keep the girls together in a suite - at no extra charge to me!!! We travel a lot, so it is great to know my babies are well cared for, happy, safe, and just as loved as if I were with them. Pros: Conveniently located near Jones Road on FM 1960. Large facility with play room. Cons: Can't think of any! more

Barks 5th Avenue the BEST! 4/30/2008

We've taken our dog to Bark's 5th Avenue for several years, & have found them to be very friendly & caring towards all the pets. They are also very accommodating with last minute grooming appts, which is very helpful. They've recently moved into a huge building with lots of space for boarding & play areas for all animals. I would highly recommend Barks 5th Avenue to all my firends for their grooming & boarding needs. more

Friendly place, no worries 4/30/2008

We only take our dog to get shaved during the summer - it is great to pick her up at the end of the day with her smelling wonderful and beautiful. They are really careful about any concerns we have and are careful to do exactly what you request. more

Great place to get dog groomed 4/30/2008

I had my bichon groomed at Barks Fifth Avenue for years. I was always very happy with the service we got. I now take in my Yorkie. I love the new facility with the doggy daycare rooms. My yorkie was excited today to be there with two other yorkies. The staff are nice and everything is very clean. more

Bark's 5th Avenue 4/30/2008

We have never had a small dog that we groomed until last year. Once we got ""Sasha"" we always wanted her to look good! I asked a friend who they used and they recommended Bark's 5th Avenue to me. We made an appointment and took Sasha in. The people there were very friendly. They could tell I was a little nervous leaving my small dog with strangers. However, I must say it was a great experience and we have used them ever since. I really enjoy the new location. It is a little further from me than the other one but I don't mind driving the extra distance at all. Sasha is well taken care of. Thanks for doing a great job! more

Fantastic groomers 4/29/2008

I have only had really good experiences with Barks Fifth Avenue. They treat our two dogs very kind and spend as much time wtih them as they can. Barks Fifth Avenue has an excellent staff, including the groomers. The only complaint I have is the seemingly high cost (although, I have to admit, I don't have much to compare their costs to as I've only dealt with one other place). FABULOUS DOG SALON 4/28/2008

My dogs are so important to me and I would only leave them in the best of care. This place is immaculate and well staffed, I brought my dogs Prince and Max to Bark's fifth recently and I have to say this was the best experience I have ever had with boarding and grooming. The service is great, the place is very clean, they really care about the dogs as well as their owners! They are freindly and a must for anyone looking to board or groom their dogs. more

Barks has move to a new spacious facility which is very clean and the dogs are happy. We have been using them for over two years. The prices are reasonable and they take good care of Rufus and Lucy. Pros: They will accomodate last minute requests more

Best BEAUTY SHOP for your Doggie on 1960 4/26/2008

Barks 5th Avenue has really stepped up to the plate in their new facility. I enjoy taking my Shih Tzu for her monthly appointment at the Doggie Beauty Shop...I get lots of compliments when she gets a makeover. Pros: Very Clean facility ....Wahoo! Cons: Not a whole lot of outside space for dogs to run, but cute set-up how they go in and out. Garage Door! more

Best Grooming in Town 4/26/2008

Barks 5th Avenue is a ""cut"" above the rest! Penny and her crew do an awesome job with my animals, both cats and dogs and have for the last 7 years. They have taken great care with an extremely old dachsund (16) as well as my cats (14 and 1) and now my new puppy. They are always accommodating to my schedule and are willing to fit me in whenever I call at the last minute--which is often for boarding! They treat my animals like family which is important when I have to board them. I always appreciate their sincerity and cheerful attitudes when I am in the shop. Thanks guys--you do an awesome job! Can't say enough about the new shop either....it's a great environment for the 2 legged clients as well as the 4 legged ones! Keep up the great work and see you soon!! Best grooming salon around. Caring, considerate, thorough service 4/26/2008

The staff at Barq's has always been extremely and caring and considerate in working with our dogs. We have two very lage, long haired Great Pyrenees. We have had other grooming salons turn us away because they take so much time to clean. Barq's didn't hesitate at all. Even though it takes a lot of time to clean them. We have one dog who is very large, very old, and very physically difficult to groom. The staff is so patient with her. The express service is perfect for her. She is in and out in two hours. Which is wonderful when you're an extremely old dog who is not physically up to the rigors of an all day grooming session. We also have a male whom they treat like royalty. I don't have to worry when I take the dogs to be groomed. I know that when I pick them up, they will be groomed expertly, happy, and the staf will have a smile on their face; no matter who difficult it was to get the job done. I will continue to use Barq's as long as they will continue to groom my dogs. I would recommend them to anyone. They are super! Best Pet Groomer Around 4/26/2008

I love Barks 5th Avenue and so does Susie, my miniature Schnauzer. I've been to several different groomers and Barks 5th Ave. tops them all. Susie always comes out looking so cute and smells wonderful. The prices are reasonable and the staff very professional and friendly. I've never used the boarding facilities, but would not hesitate to do so from what I've seen. more

Great environment for dogs. Great customer service. 4/25/2008

Barks 5th Ave offers plenty for your dogs. The grooming is great! I have not made one complaint with in the 3 years that I have taken my Mini Schnauzer to get her monthly pampering. She always looks and smells great! Also, with the doggy day care it assures me that my dogs (I also have a Boxer) are releasing there bottled up energy! I would recommend B5thA. to anyone with a dog. Pros: They open early and stay open late! more

The Best for your Littlle Angel 4/25/2008

I had so many bad experiences taking my dogs to Pet Smart for grooming. (I have 3 dogs, one Chihuahua, one miniature Collie, and one Yorkyee) I AM BLESSED FOR FINDING The Barks 5th Avenue. They know their business and my dogs are happy! Fair prices, excelente customer service, caring for pets etc ... What more can I say? A+ Service!!! Try it you too. I recomend. Pros: Great indoor space and easy parking. Cons: Some times _ +/- 5 - 6 pm week days _ there is havy traffic around that area. more

Barks 5th Avenue 4/25/2008

This is my first time using this company for the grooming of my cocker spaniel. I found them in the yellow pages and am pleased that I chose them. My dog is 5 years old and seemed extremely comfortable in their environment when we first walked in. The facility was nice and clean. The employees were very friendly and knowlegable. The woman at the front desk was pleasant and answered all of my questions promptly. The facility seemed to offer so many quality services that I am intersted in trying out in the future.They all made sure that I was satisfied with their service above and beyond what I expected. Iwas very pleased with the service. I will definately use them again! more

Pleasant Suprise 4/16/2008

I took my angel to Barks as a last resort to grooming her myself after many bad experiences at other facilities in NW Houston. From the time I called to schedule the appointment to the time I picked her up I was IMPRESSED. The customer service was exceptional! All of the staff seemed very knowledgeable about pets and their needs. The grooming was perfect and while my baby waited to get groomed they put her in Doggie Daycare, which eased my nerves about leaving her there all day (and I think she really enjoyed it too :)) I highly recommend Barks 5th Avenue and am now a loyal customer! One last note, the owner also happened to be there when I picked up my baby and took the time to greet me and ask about my experience and offered advice on other questions I had concerning some of my baby's behavioral issues...we are now going to Barks for training, grooming, Doggie Daycare and boarding. Great place!!! Worth the time to check it out!! more
