Use any place but this place. Don't sign up for wellness plan. These day's people really need to spend money wisely and this is a waste of money.

WATCH OUT!!! VERY BAD PLACE!! 4/25/2011

dr scott is out for your money! Watch out, this place does not know what they are doing. I work with a few of there old empolyees and all they talk about is the messed up stuff that goes on in there. more

Do NOT take your dog to banfield!! Waste of Money! 4/6/2011

I would not suggest this vet to anyone. I have a dog that is just over a year old. She has been there a few times and everytime they always find something outrageous to charge us for. It cost us over $200 to have her tested for a UTI. Last week, I took her in there for shots and asked them to check her eyes because they had been red (allergies but I just wanted to make sure). I have my boyfriend pick the dog up (she had been there for 6 hours because they would only let me drop her off before 11:30 and we could not get back til after 5.) and it took him 30 minutes before anyone would talk to him and then they said a nurse would be out with our dog to talk to him. He then waits ANOTHER 15 minutes for the nurse to come out(total: 45 minutes) and tell him Delaney has an ear infection and we need to buy this $30 medicine to treat it (which can also be treated with househould products for the most part). He is so frustrated he pays and comes home. I look in my dogs ears and have done so eve more

SHAMEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE 3/9/2011

WELLENESS PROGRAM IS A FARCE! Though i am being billed each mo. for the program the Oviedo location will not give me appt. for my pet saying acct. is "marked for non-renewal." The corporate office says it is an independently owned office and cannot help. I've called the mgr. countless times, but cannot get through. I am contesting the payments through my card, contacting BBB, and my community pet owners about this. These people have no concern for pets, TAKE YOUR BUSINESS SOMEWHERE ELSE. more

Be wary of the sales pitch and take a calculator and voice recorder. 1/3/2011

Banfield Vet is a rip. It's a sales pitch the moment you walk in.The Cost of "Wellness Plan" exceeds cost of the benefits. Their brochure is misleading. I had the Vet Nurse get a calculator and showed him that the cost was misrepresented. I showed them this & they just stuttered and tried to change the subject. The bill exceeded the est. by $58.00. They didnt provide notes even after i asked. They wouldnt give me test results on paper. "Vet Nurses" couldnt repeat what vet said. All in all very bad experience! I would not reccomend them. more

Go to a REAL VET HOSPITAL and save yourself $$ and frustration 6/2/2010

This is a great place to take your pet if you want to be quickly seperated from your money. The staff is nice enough but the yearly plan is a sham. Their prices are inflated so they can brag about how much money you are being saved by using the plan. Its a crock!\r \r The waiting area is inside the busy, noisy PetSmart so its a lousy place for shy pets and only adds to the anxiety. You will see someone different every time you go so continuity of care goes out the window. While your pet is being examined they are punching buttons on the computer so you are lucky if you are being looked at or paid attention to. But don't worry - while they are updating your digital chart your fees are being racked up!\r \r The staff is great about whisking your poor baby off the "the back" for shots or procedures. You'll have no idea what's being done and no way to verify. This is only a problem once you find out you've been rushed out the door minus something you just paid for.\r \r Then there's the more

Banfield The Pet Hospital is unproffesional and inappropriate 1/7/2010

I would not recommend this location/vet. Not only did they handle a situation in the most unprofessional and inappropriate way, management never returned my call to discuss the situation. If you want professional and appropriate service, do not go to this vet. Their office personnel is very sarcastic, unkind, unprofessional and condescending. more

Banfield The Pet Hospital is good. 9/11/2009

I think the care here is very good and my experience with the vets here has been positive. I personally have a difficult time justifying $250+ to have my dog knocked out to have his teeth cleaned only to watch him run out in the yard and eat his poop as soon as we get home. But I do pay the vet for his or her opinion. Tarter build-up will lead to problems down the road. I would not want them to hold back on recommendations because of cost. I have the right to opt-out of any treatment. If you want to spend the money on your animal, go ahead, if not, just say no thanks. It up to the owner to decide what they are comfortable spending on their dog. \r \r Also, I think that if you start treating dogs like people they will start treating you like another dog. I always get a good chuckle watching people walk their dogs around in baby carriages like children. There is a certain tendency of these places to cater to pet owners, such as these, who will spare no expense. And why not? As a consumer y more

Banfield is what it is 2/27/2009

I have 5 dogs and all are on the wellness plan. I've never had a problem with too expensive of a test and the wellness plan covered all their spaying and neutering. I always challenge the Dr on test and ask if they are necessary. I am an informed consumer and have had prices reduced on tests by providing them with information where I can have the procedure done less expensively. I love the staff and the doctors there and with the wellness plan my dogs are very healthy. Don't be a cry baby consumer educate yourself and make informed choices for your pet. If you don't like Ban field leave...they are a business and yes they want to be profitable. more

Only care about money 8/26/2008

I know that I am copying someones comments but I felt exactly the same with Banfield in Oviedo... Banfield's first priority is making money-and not your pet's health. They will come up with "highly recommended" tests, which are unnecessary and expensive. It is difficult to determine which tests are necessary and which ones they recommended purely to make a profit from. Their "Wellness Plan" is also a complete rip off - I bought the puppy Plan & it didn't even cover to get him fixed although the nurse told me it did when I signed up for it. I never leave there w/o spending $100 -no matter what it is for. RIP OFF more

Saved My Dogs Life 7/18/2008

I don't care what people write about banfield hosp in oviedo... i know if it were not for Drs. Scott and Jackie our prized little toy rat terrier would not be here today... they told us we had 2 choices and that was to put him down or try to give him the amount of medicine and antibiotics that a 120lb dog would get... and that could kill him also.. they recommended putting him down so he wouldn't suffer... we being selfish asked them to try and save him by all means.. it took almost 2 weeks for him to get to be back to somewhat normal.. the staff there were amazing.. there sencere, caring and over-all attitude towards us were A++++ to this day i will always speak highly of them and tell people my experience with them.. as for the wellness planwe have and for extras we have the doggy insurance....our son is grown but our dog Sir Air Jordan is the next best thing to a child we could have. you would do anything possible to save there life as long as they gave you a remote chance. \r Scott more

Terrible! Do not send your pet to these people! 3/27/2006

Banfield's first priority is making money-and not your pet's health. They will come up with "highly recommended" tests, which are unnessary and expensive. It is difficult to determine which tests are necessary and which ones they recommended purely to make a profit from. As a result, you are left wondering if you are giving your pet's health is being sacrficed because you don't trust them. Their "Wellness Plan" is also a complete rip off. To make a long story short, I am still paying for the plan (because you sign a contract) but I take my pet to a loving vet whom I can trust. The tests that Banfield recommended were found to be ridiculous and unnecssary by my current vet. I am trying to warn everyone I can about this company. Because people care about their pets and will do just about anything to make sure that they are healthy, big companies such as Banfield takes advantage of that. The vet was more like a saleperson than a vet. Stay away, stay away, stay away! PROS: Dist more

Nice staff 11/10/2005

The are a top nop Primary care vet office. The have 5 doctors on staff. All of which are very devoted to pet care. They are very good about not having you wait for you appointment. They always get back to you right away if you call in with any questions. The front desk receptionist is very pleasant and is very helpful with any insurance questions you have. The practice is family owned and has been around for more than 30 years. They are just the best. more

A vet experience above the rest 6/28/2005

I have been extremely satisfied with the service at this vet office. The staff is very polite, and animal friendly. I love the fact that they offer insurance wellness plans to cover health care costs for pets throughout the year. I also like that they offer drop-off services so I don't have to wait around to be seen. I also appreciated that the have walk-in available if needed. Grooming is also on site, and since they are located in Petsmart everything you need for your pet is on hand. more
