not so great 3/26/2007

We've tried Bandana's a few times, and have to admit, the best time was the first time. Every other time has been very disappointing. Between very slow service and mediocre food, we've not been impressed. The meat is dry, and the sauce it just ""okay"". The fried corn was greasy and chewy. My friend in St Louis recommended this place, but we won't go back. In my opinion, if you want good BBQ in the Denver area, go to Rib City Grille, Big Papa's or Famous Dave's. Pros: none that I can think of ... Cons: the service is slow, the meat is dry, very inconsistent quality more

If you like authentic BBQ, avoid this!! 2/27/2007

As BBQ places go, this is not one of the better ones. The meat is very dry, the sides are small, and the potato salad is uninspired. On top of that, the prices are way out of line with the quality. Expect to spend about $10 for an entree that is worth about $4 in my opinion. If you get the food to go, it will be cold by the time you get home, no doubt about it. If you eat there, you shouldn't expect your traditional dingy bbq pit that we've all grown to love. Rather, it's a stark, clean, very well lit environment that leaves you wondering if they understand the meaning of bbq ""pit"".\r \r On the plus side, their spicy bbq sauce brings them out of the depths of despair and is about the only redeeming quality that the restaurant has to offer. Pros: sauce slightly makes up for the poor quality and dryness of the meat and service was decent Cons: everything else more

Great food and great service 7/12/2006

I first ate at a Bandana's in Missouri so I could not believe my eyes when they opened one in Colorado near me. There is no other barbeque food in Denver that compares and the prices are reasonable. When ordering the beef plate be sure to ask for burn ends as well you will like them. If you do not try Bandan's you have missed out on something special. more

Really good Barbecue! 7/5/2006

I and my wife were both very favorably impressed with our visit to this restaurant and would recommend it highly. The server was the most pleasing part of my visit. She was friendly and treated me as a valued customer. She went out of her way to make sure my dinner was pleasurable and even brought me a sample of boiled peanuts. The food had an excellent flavor and the meat was tender and juicy. We had not ever heard of this restaurant and so did not have any expectations, but we will recommend it to anyone who likes good BBQ. We would have liked wet wipes at the end of the meal. However, I did think that the paper towel holders were great! Pros: Great service, tender meats, creative decor Cons: No wet wipes with meal more

Good place! I have eaten at their other locations in St. Louis many times, so while I was in CO I had to stop by. Same great service, tastiest pulled pork sandwich I have ever had. Try mixing the sweet & smoky sauce with the spicy! YUMMMMMMY!!!! I love this place - Great food, Great Service, Great Prices!!!!! Pros: Best BBQ Ever... more

Best BBQ Chicken, Beef, Pork anywhere this side of St. Louis. 7/2/2006

I have tried every item on their menu, best food ever. I usually have just the lunch portion and that is big enough, the dinner platter I have to take some home. Pros: Best BBQ this side of St. Louis Cons: No down sides more

Great Service and BBQ in Colorado!!!!! 6/24/2006

I am not a BBQ fan but when i ate at Bandanas i can't enough of it!!!! And neither can my family. The turkey there is so awesome i get it everytime. But the sausage and pork are great too!!!!!! But save room for dessert because they have a great selection and all of it is so good!!!!!!!! The people there are so nice, the owners are always walking around making sure everything is ok and ther servers really care and make the effort to make the experience a special one. Thank you Bandanas!!!!!!!!!! Pros: Great food and service!!!!!!!!!! Cons: Its kind of hidden off the road behind a gas station. more

BEST bbq I've ever had!!! 6/24/2006

I went there the other night and I was so impressed by our server, Andy, he was so knowldgeable about everthing. He told us about The extensive selection of draft beers. I was impressed. He told us about the ribs and how they were cooked. We ended up getting the ribs. When he deliverd them to us he explained all the sauces. We liked them all. After we finished off all the ribs he offered us dessert. They have such a virety i thought it was going to be one or two but they had more than 5 desserts. We got the dougnut holeswich tasted just like funnel cake. We were so impressed that they can count on us being regulars from now on. Pros: NO WAIT on a friday night, inexpensive, fast and friendly Cons: Only one resturant so far more

best bbq 6/23/2006

Bandanas BBQ is by far the best food overall that I have eaten in any restaurant in a very long time. There meats is estravagant. Excellent service by far also, there family oriented restaurant gave me a relaxing, curtious, pleasant, and excellent service with overall my choice in going out to eat anywhere Bandanas BBQ is my number one choice over any other restaurant for BBq in Denver. You should visit and find out for yourselves the excellence your missing by not going out to eat there just once, you definatly won't regret it. Pros: thumbs up to overall service, parking, management Cons: I did not find absolutly nothing wrong with Bandanas BBQ more

Best 'cue in Denver! 6/19/2006

My buddy told me to check out this new bbq restaurant in Lakewood he couldn't stop raving about how awesome the food tastes. I took my family in last week and discovered they have a great kids menu and are actually a full-service place instead of those fast food type. It was really nice to sit down and have time to check out the menu and be waited on after a long day at the office. My wife and I ordered a slab of ribs to share and with it got two sides, baked beans and potato salad. the waiter told us about how the food is smoked fresh each day and that the sides are handmade in the morning...that's pretty awesome! The waiter then offered us a sample of their hot boiled peanuts. Not sure what they are, but heck yeah can't refuse a free sample. They weren't too bad, kind of salty and kind of potato like in texture.\r The ribs were fantastic, even my wife who doen't care as much as I do about 'cue was surprised how delicious they were. We are definitly bringin the family back for their incredible 'cue which is I think the best around, it's about time. Pros: Two Thumbs Up! from my wife and I more

Denver has been waiting for Barbecue like this! 4/1/2006

I grew up in the midwest where Bandana's started and I am so excited that they are finally coming to Colorado. This is some of the best southern barbecue you'll find west of the Mississippi! You will never get tired of this food. My family and I would go at least once a week, sometimes 2 or 3 times. The pulled pork is so moist and tender, and like any good barbecue the ribs come right off the bone. I could eat any of their meats without sauce, but I am particularly fond of their Sweet and Smoky mixed with their Spicy sauce, mmmmMMM! When you go, be sure to try the fried corn on the cob. Truly a unique side item! Pros: Food is served quick, Inexpensive, Atmosphere more
