Why are you hesitating!?\r \r You don't have to be anxious about visiting here. There are no more place better than Ban's in tailored areas. He is always eager to alter and make best garment for you. Best Tailoring Place in UES! 8/22/2011

Very highly recommended alterations shop at upper east Manhattan NYC ...you will look great. I've never been able to find dress shirts that fit well at stores, let alone suits (I have broad shoulders/chest relative to my waist). I was always left swimming in my suits and shirts. I bought a tux last year and was estatic about the quality, craftsmanship, and most importantly the exquisite fit. I get compliments every time I wear it. I've bought shirts and another suit since then, and will continue to come back for the quality, professional and attentive service, and fair pricing. Ban's Custom Tailor will not disappoint. more

I am so happy to have Bans tailor in my neighborhood. We've taken our jeans there to be hemmed as well as have rips and threadbare spots repaired. his repair is unbelievable, I mean, it's an art form the way he can fix anything! I've also had a bridesmaid dress altered, perfectly I may add. I love this place, always friendly, always helpful, and always taking pride in his work! If you need a tailor, here it is! more

Actually awesome!!:D  When I managed to rip the part of lining of an expensive dress, I needed someone who could fix it. finally Mr.Ban did an incredible job with my dress, and for quite a bit less than I was expecting! more

Excellent alteration services 4/18/2011

Excellent alteration services ; able to handle all sorts of difficult situations. I trust Ban's with all of my alterationing - suits, jeans, and shirts - and have been seeing him since he opened at this location. We've never had any problems. He is super friendly, and always able do do a job in a rush in a pinch. more

If you want someone who will provide excellent workmanship, then Mr. Ban is your man!\r \r If you want someone who will smile and yes you to death, then I suggest you take your clothes to any of the $8 tailors in the neighborhood. \r \r Mr. Ban knows how to measure and tailor clothes to fit your body and I cannot say enough about his excellent work. Very friendly neighborhood feel. 3/21/2011

I took in a pair of Levi's jeans that were too baggy for me and asked her to bring them in down the entire leg. he was extremely thorough, first pinning the pant leg to the desired fit and then even measuring the width against a pair of pants I brought in that fit well. A couple days later I picked them up and they fit perfectly. I will definitely be going back. Not only is the alteration great but the customer service is too. Very friendly neighborhood feel. more

I discovered the best kept secret in tailoring!! 3/8/2011

About 8 years ago I purchased and Armani couture silk and heavily beaded skirt which was in need of repair. It was so heavy with beading, sequins, pearls and Swarovski crystals that it weighed on the waistband to the point of shredding the edges. But, alas, I loved the skirt and put it away for future use. My daughter became engaged and the wedding was coming up. What to wear? So out came the skirt, still in disrepair. I brought it to the LOVELY people at Silhouettes and Profiles, not sure that they would be able to fix it. The response when I inquired as to whether it was possible to resurrect this vintage piece was, ""Anything is possible, we have our tricks!"" So I left the skirt there for 3 weeks and drove in from Connecticut to pick it up. I have to admit I was a bit anxious, as I wasn't so sure it was possible to be fixed. In fact, they did a remarkble job! I was still in awe of the workmanship involved in putting the skirt back together. I will be wearing this skirt to my daughter's wedding and they will be getting a photo of me wearing it to post in their showroom. more

Great alteration Tailors! 3/3/2011

Great Suit's Tailors! Would like to share my experience with you regarding Ban's Tailors. I'm a very busy person and basically have no time at all to visit a tailor during business hours. My assistant found them through internet, I decided to give it a try. I had bunch of suits, some blazers and pants needed to be adjusted. he was very helpful in giving me very professional advices during the fitting. he took about 3 days to complete alterations. Spectacular JOB! Everything fits amazingly more

Best Tailor in New York 2/21/2011

I have also been a loyal customer to Ban for over 10 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. There have been times when I have brought in a garment on wednesday night and Mr. Ban has personally delivered it to my door by thursday. I have trusted him with everything from my daughter's favorite pajamas to floor-length evening gowns. He gets it right every time. He's open 6 days a week, sometimes 7 and is one of the most accommodating individuals I have ever met. He is efficient, professional, hardworking, and it doesn't hurt that he is incredibly kind as well. Mr. Ban is one of the best kept secrets on the upper east side. more

Shocked at the Bad Reviews 9/15/2009

I cannot believe the bad reviews of this place as I have had the completely opposite experience. I have been going to Ban for 10 years and he has consistently done fabulous work and is always professional, courteous and has my garments ready on time. He is a litte pricey (which is why I only gave 4 stars) but its worth it for the peace of mind I have had. I have taken countless designer items to him and have never been hesitant or disappointed. He has reshaped and resized items for me and made them wearable again, that I otherwise would have thrown out. I cannot say enough about the great work and have recommended him to many people who have been equally impressed. Pros: Amazing Work Cons: A Little Pricey more

Too bad 5/19/2009

I feel sorry for anyone who has bad experiences with tailors, so just DO NOT support these people! Customers go to tailors for a reason, we pay for their services to help clean/alter garments so we can feel confident about our outfits/garments. BAD tailors take this confidence away and should be shut down. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS! Cons: Bad stories overheard more

Worst service ever and way over priced!!!! 6/11/2008

I took a dress to have hemmed...big mistake! Not only did they charge me $28 for the hem, but they completely ruined the dress. After which, they told me that I must have gotten too big for the dress with in the 5 days since I had brought it in, I'm 5'0 and weigh 94 lbs!!! They removed and threw out the tags that were on my dress and then refused to give me a refund. They were absolute jerks, you should be ashamed if you give them business...I certainly am!!!! Pros: Close to where I live Cons: Terrible service and way over priced! more
