Good: Out of the myriad number of steakhouses that I've been to in NYC and elsewhere, I found BLT Steak to have the BEST steak, and that's not even counting the Kobe steak that th...

Delicious 11/9/2008

Yummy! My husband and I had a spectacular meal here. The service was great. The food amazing and the atmosphere fun and relaxing. We'll be back. Pros: food, service Cons: none more

cool yet causal vibe 7/3/2008

celebrated my bday with my wife - pleasantly surprised how nice the place looked compared to typical nyc steakhouses that go overboard with the mahogany and brass look. the decor was fashionable without being feminine - it is still a steakhouse afterall. the steak - a nystrip medium rare - came out great - not overdone, although i prefer it to be sizzling a la peter lugers - maybe the porterhouse would have presented this way - next time perhaps. the treat of the night however was the celebrity sitting directly behind me - Leo DiCaprio. Although it was my birthday, it felt more like a gift for my wife (and all the other ladies present) who kept rolling their eyes over towards Leo to see what he was doing next! All in all a great restaurant, classy and chic. more

Disappointed 3/19/2008

I was extremely disappointed with the food here. I am a huge fan of kobe beef, so naturally this is what I ordered. It was not tasty at all. It tasted like nothing more than a fatty piece of plain old steak. For that price, I expect a delicious piece of meat. more

Trying to maximize our time in New York we went based on one personal recommendation and all the reviews we read on this site. It was a great experience. Very New York. Food, Service, crowd, wait-time, CheeseBoard and ambiance were all excellent. Thank you to those before us who gave such good feedback and helped our decision. more

Food that is worth the wait 10/25/2007

Despite being hidden under a scaffolding (my biggest gripe with NYC) once you walk into BLT you forget all about that. The space has a sexy kind of ambience for a steakhouse. We had to wait a little while for our table despite our reservation, which was a little lame, but once we were seated it was all worth it. The popovers greeting you at the table are just the first of the excess we experienced. The waitstaff was friendly enough, yet didn't blow us away or anything. The food, however, did. The NY Strip was AMAZING and the accompanying sauce made it that much better. The side dishes were a little small but well worth the price. By the time we left, I was way full and completely satisfied. more

A great NYC experience 8/7/2007

I went with 3 other people on a Thursday night about 8:30 and the place was absolutely jam-packed. We were a little early for our reservations so i thought we'd have to fight for some room at the bar(impossible). But to my pleasant surprise, after less then a couple minutes we were promptly seated in the dining room. The food and wine were great, and surprisingly the onion rings were memorable. You wouldn't think that at a top steakhouse that onion rings would standout, but they were great. The filet was cooked perfectly, and the Swordfish was also a good choice. The waitress was a little slow at times, but considering how busy it was I wasn't completely shocked. Overall it was a great experience for an out of towner and will be a place that i'll want to go back to again. Pros: Food and ambiance Cons: Pricey(but what good place in NYC isn't) more

bring the date, take the window seat, take it all in 6/15/2007

the girlfriend and i have had many a drink at the long yet narrowly spaced bar. bartenders attentive and efficient. and i have had many outstanding meals with business associates. yet one meal in particular with the gf stands out..there is a cozy inviting small window seat area that you can hopefully enjoy the company of stangers.if you dont travel en posse...its small enough that you will either take command of the couches or make friends..we made friends..the popovers( the undeniable uniquely delicious version of everyother resaurants bread) are dangerous...we decided to share a very well tossed caeser-not a huge fan of over creamed dressin, followed by the perfectly cold dry crisp shrimp the size of an elbow..then the gluttony began..hands down best 3+lb steamed lobster ever served outside of gorges bank..we all know the smaller ones are the sweetest yet the way my girlfiend went ""daryl hannah"" on it ..was clearly the sign of perfection...bring the girl, drink, meet new friends..careful there are alot of suits as well.... Pros: popovers, steak, lobster, service, Cons: narrow bar more
