Great place to catch a game 1/16/2009

Met up with some friends here last week. I had never been out to this part of Seattle and was happy to see this place out there. We went to watch the Gonzaga game and they had the sound on. It was a great, chill atmosphere and not at all stuffy like you would expect from this neighborhood. The nachos were really good and I had a meat loaf sandwich that was to die for. I would make the trip from West Seattle any time to watch another game here. more

Right at home kind of place 12/30/2008

After a long week of cabin fever, I decided it would be nice to head down to The Attic to catch some football and have lunch. Upon arriving, I found the place to be very busy. Everyone seemed to be happy and having a good time. I posted up at the bar and was soon greeted by the staff and offered a beer. After ordering my beer, I noticed that the staff had their hands full! Not only was it busy, but they were having dishwasher issues and were having to wash every dish by hand! It didn't seem to phase them one bit, since the service was excellent and my burger (The Cluttered) was probably the best I've had in months. I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for some great food and a comfortable atmosphere. I must say, I had a completely different experience than Slappygoodtime. I felt the staff to be very apologetic for the inconvenience and were only charging happy hour prices. If you going out to relax and have a good time, I would suggest The Attic in a heartbeat. more

Seattle's worst Service 12/28/2008

I discovered the Attic over the summer and have been going there about every week or so since. The service was always crappy, but tonight it was just too much. The restuarant was only about 1/3 full. The 4 servers spent the entire night hanging out behind the bar giggling and ignoring the customers. After about 25 minutes, someone dropped by to take our order. Our beer came about 10 minutes later in 8 ounce plastic cups. Our food showed up after about 10 more minutes. Never saw a utensil or a napkin. Server never came back to our table. We gave up after 20 minutes and just made a guess at how much our bill was. Left cash on the table and left. Avoid or go to Bings, which is only a block away. Pros: Convenient location, outdoor seating. Cons: Bad service. In fact, the worst I've encountered in Seattle. more

IMPROVED FOOD AND SERVICE 11/3/2008

I am a frequent patron of the Attic. Food has been greatly improved over the past 6 months or so. The service was a bit slower on the draw. HOWEVER, some very long over due changes in the serviuce staff have made the Attic a much more appealing draw. Be sure to try the Buffalo Bleu Bacon Sandwich. OUTSTANDING!! Big menu heavy on the sandwiches with a really unique and really tasty burger. 11 TV's make it the spot to catch a game. Pros: Older space with lots of character more

Wonderful food, great beer and the Service was Wonderful!!!! 10/9/2008

Went in with a group of friiends(8 of us) and we could'nt have been treated any better. The steak special was wonderful, the largest baked potato I have ever seen. With all the different Oktoberfest beers its hard to choose just one we shared a few pitchers. I recommend the hot wings they come with the thickest bleu cheese we have ever had, also try one of their salads it was huge, share with a friend. We all had a great time and we will be going back for more. Pros: Beer, food and fun waitstaff more

Bad Service trumps Good Food - I don't need to pay to be made uncomfortable 7/3/2008

I had written something much longer as an email complaint to send to The Attic. Unfortunately (surprise, surprise) their email address is invalid. This seems consistent with their lack of concern for customers. I have eaten here a number of times, and always thought the food was very good, and the service not great, but acceptable. But this week, I received service rude enough that I probably will not go back again. We were treated with impatience, attitude, and confrontational behavior. I can only echo the sentiments of those other negative reviews on this page. Everything I wanted to say about it has been said by others below. Pros: good food, especially burgers and beer, nice location in Madison Park Cons: incredibly obnoxious service that overshadows all pros more

Worst Service in Seattle 6/2/2008

This worthless dump is the most pretentious bar in Seattle. I love Madison Park, but this dump needs to be AVOIDED. The wait staff do not pay attention to customers, constantly blab blab blab about personal business behind the bar while customers are waiting for drinks, food, and act like hipsters when you finally do order. Ask around..this place is a piece of crap..DO NOT GO THERE.....it's a dump..and the wait staff are slow and lazy fools. Cons: terrible service, average food, worthless wait staff...AVOID THIS DUMP more

Judge For Yourself 5/17/2008

I have patronized the Attic since I moved to Madison Park about 8 years ago. It is a great place to grab a beer with friends or a hearty breakfast on a Sunday morning. The beers on tap maintain a good variety with seasonal offerings and craft beers. more

You Said It: Rude 5/2/2008

I have been going to the Attic for over forty years. It used be a happy friendly place. Under the current management you can't even get a question answered. The rib portions have shrunk and the Stella has disappeared. Why go back? Pros: Legacy Cons: Rude service more

Avoid unless you prefer foul wait staff and management 4/25/2008

I don't know why people who, clearly, hate other people work in bars. Pros: Great bar food, price Cons: Beers selection, staff more

Great Burgers, Beer and Baseball 8/14/2007

20 Great beers to choose from and build your own burgers with a dozen T.V.s to choose from. HEAVEN!!! Pros: Great food and beer Cons: how to choose just one beer more

The Attic ? A Great Pub Located in Madison Park 8/14/2007

The attic has the best wings in Seattle and rotates 20 taps full of local beers. It has been around for 50+ years, yet survives on quality of the food, location, and serves as the local hangout. I had there mushroom and swiss burger (you can build your own burger), which is in my top 5 for burgers in Seattle. I am an IPA fan, they had three choices on tap. It?s hard to miss any sports with the 15 flat screens, one for every corner. I asked if the have the NFL ticket, they do. They told me to show up on Sundays and request the game of my choice. As long as there is a TV available you will have the opportunity to watch your game and have breakfast (only served on the weekends). It?s tough to image a place that was built in the 50?s to be too clean, but they must call it the attic for some reason. Pros: Wings, Beer, Flat Screens, Thursday Night Beer Specials 9pm-close Cons: If you play darts, you keep score on chalkboards more

Great bar food almost outweighted by their HORRIBLE service and dirty atmosphere. 5/19/2007

In order to enjoy The Attic's good food you have to put up with a bunch of the crappiest, moodiest, dingbat waitstaff that there ever was. Literally at least 60% of the time we've eaten there, one of the waiters ends up eating his/her dinner while they're working. And rather than taking their meal to the back, they'll stand behind the bar and eat their sloppy burger in front of us all, talking with their mouths full to the other waiters, using their hands to grab any dangling food from their mouth and shove it all in. Oh and when they finally see that they have a table that's been waiting for a drink refill for the last ten minutes, they'll head over to finally get to it without washing their hands first. It really should be no suprise that the waiters are that clueless to cleanliness -- all you have to do is tilt your head up to the ceiling the see a layer of dirt and dust an inch thick (I'm not kidding) on all the memoraibila they have nailed to the rafters. If you do dare to go there -- take a look at the hockey skate attached to an overhead beam. You may just v0mit a little in your mouth. You'll definately lose your appetite. Pros: Great bar food, especially their burgers fries and wings. Cons: Unattentive and rude waitstaff, overbilling and filled with extremely dirty memorabilia. more

Great food, Great beer; lousy service 11/7/2005

This place is a refreshing break from the trendiness of Madison Park. It's a low-key joint. It's got great beer, and good food. Prices are reasonable. Multiple tv's so that everyone can watch the game no matter where they're sitting. The only drawback is the service-- especially the guys who work there. They're ridiculously serious for working in a pub-- and not very welcoming. Can put you off. Pros: location, non smoking, beer Cons: wait staff more

Decent spot for a beer 9/6/2005

A relaxing bar with a good beer selection, the Attic is a nice spot to sip on a pint with some friends. The food is average, and the service pretty curt and sloppy. Pros: Beer Selection, Relaxing Atmosphere Cons: Insolent waitstaff more

Great Food & Sassy Service 7/7/2005

I've been eating here since the late 80's, almost once a week...love the breakfast on the weekends (cheap and cheerful) the real treat is Colleen, our sassy server who rules the roost. Favorites are the grilled sandwiches, salads (surprise for a tavern are excellent) and nachos. Lot's of TV's so you can watch just about everything from CNN to sports. It's the ""real"" Madison Park club where they know your name and remember what you like to drink and eat. Pros: Great location, good value, lot's of beer more

Solid Madison Park choice.. 6/28/2002

THis is a FINE place to grab a couple beers, a burger and listen to some Dead on Thursday nights. Good young set of Madison Park aspiring yuppies mixed in w/ older neighborhood regulars gives this place ""character"". This place is comfortable, consistent and exudes the laid back attitude you'd come to expect from such a 'joint'... more

Good Eats to Chill 6/25/2002

This is a great place to chill and hang out with your friends any time of day. The menu is tasty, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is nice. It can get crowded at times, but that's the same with any other place. Definitely the highlight of Madison Park. Pros: good menu, nice crowd Cons: no hard liquor more

It's definitely a neighborhood bunch out for a beer and a bite, but even interlopers are warmly welcomed in this woody, well-lit but not too bright bar. Take a seat at the bar...
