Very Disappointed 10/8/2011

I had been to Atlantic Seafood many times in the past. We even had our office Christmas Party there one year. Last night was date night and we were looking forward to our meal. The night was just terrible. I knew we had a problem when we got there at 7 on a friday night and there were plenty of empty tables. As we passed the beautiful display case for the seafood, it just didn't look right, some fish looked old. Wish we'd have left then. It would have saved paying a very large bill. I ordered shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were small and dried up. I had salmon. It was covered in some heavy sauce and buried in mashed potatoes. I asked three times for my glass of wine. My wife's dinner had the wrong sauce and had to be sent back. Not the same place. We'll never go back. more

Average Experience 5/5/2011

We went last night and I was underwhelmed. I've been there many times previously and always enjoyed it. Server seemed either new and unexperienced or just didn't have a clue how to act pleasant, interested and helpful. No explanation of recommended dishes. My salmon (a tiny piece!) was smothered in bernaise, had to scrape some of it off. Salmon should be a great eating experience, this one certainly wasn't. Key Lime at Publix would have been better. Will go again sometime but last night was kinda lousy. My wife was happy with her choices though. more

Disappointed 1/6/2011

Went there for 1/2 price sushi last night and it didn't taste so great. Not sure I will return...you would think for a seafood restaurant their sushi would be better. more

Poor Service, OK Food, Rude Manager 6/9/2009

Was there for lunch on a weekday, and despite being mostly empty, service was very slow. My wife ordered a fish entree and asked if she could substitute the salad for the normal side orders. After much discussion, our waitress returned and said that would be OK and we placed our order. After a long wait, my blackened salmon sandwich was very oily and not very blackened, and my wife said that her entree was just OK. However, the real shock came when we received the bill, where I saw $24 for my wife's fish and $7 for her salad after being told that a substitution was OK (remember that these are LUNCH prices, not dinner). I went to speak with the manager about this, and rather than attempting to make this right, he was nothing short of rude. If you're looking for good seafood and professional service at reasonable prices, pass this restaurant by. Pros: Iced tea was good Cons: Overpriced, slow service, mediocre food more

The best seafood in Atlanta! 5/12/2009

My family took me out for Mother's Day and we had the most amazing seafood. My husband had the blackened mahi with fried oysters and loved it. My daughter and I split the halibut with heart of palm salad and almost ordered another to split. Instead we got the tiramisu trifle for dessert. The service was friendly and the food was great. We highly recommend this restaurant! Pros: Food, Service, & Atmosphere Cons: Music too loud more

best seafood! 11/28/2008

as a picky eater, i can say that this is probably the best meal ive ever had. fresh seafood (in alpharetta!), great service. we did have to wait about 30 min for a table, but had great drinks at the bar while we waited! all in all, a great experience!! Pros: great bartenders/seafood more

Seafood Nightmare 10/5/2008

This restaurant has really gone downhill. Several times over the past few years, since the restaurant opened, we have been able to get relatively good service and sea food, however last night was a very poor experience and a birthday celebration at that. The waiter was mediocre, water, coffee etc. not refilled, however the worst was the manager, who was very rude and short in defense of his chef. The oysters literally came out the size of almonds (no kidding) which we refused and they did take off the bill, the tuna au Poivre was cold and there was a drop of sauce on the steak, the grilled lobster was uncooked and when returned was mushy (like they heated it in water) and when we asked to speak to the manager on duty, Ross Coleman, well he was just rude, cold, and indifferent.. NEVER AGAIN! The price is too expensive for poor food and poor service. Pros: seated promptly Cons: manager on duty more

great seafood, too far for me 8/18/2008

While Atlanta has been developing around the city such as Buckhead and Midtown, Atlantic Seafood Company is too far for me. I love seafood, and ASC has definitely satisfied my desire for that. They have great service and the atmosphere is great. I will definitely return here. Pros: food, service Cons: location more

Best seafood in a long time 2/19/2008

I dined there last Saturday and they were packed. I waited an hour for my table and it was certainly worth the wait. We started out with mussels in a chipotle broth and they were amazing! My wife had the soy honey glazed sea bass and I had the grouper special. Both dishes were out of this world and I love how you can see the fresh fish when you walk in. I would definitely recommend this place, it was the best seafood I have had in Atlanta! Pros: Fresh Fish Cons: Loud more

yelston 12/19/2007

Service is good however the portion and price is terrible. High price for small portion size. The food is good, but not really worth the cost, especially for lunch. I am generally more pleased overall with the dinner menu and dinner portion sizes. more

Declining in quality, but still good 10/30/2007

I dined at ASC mid-October 2007 while in the ATL on business. Had dined there previously about 4 years ago. Overall, ASC seemed to have slipped a few notches in the areas that made it such a nice place before - ambiance, food quality, and classiness. The food was still pretty good, even for the price, but we could have been at a Shoney's for the all the class and ambiance ASC has now. The front entrance smelled very fishy - not a good thing since that's the sushi bar! We had the scallops, trout, and salmon in our party of 3. All were good, although the portions were not huge. The side dishes were just as interesting as the entrees, but the quality was a little less than expected. Pros: Menu variety, food quality Cons: Ambiance is mediocre at best more

Saturday Night Not-So-Special 10/1/2007

My wife and I ate at ASC two days ago and are still are having a hard time shaking that feeling that we just got taken for a ride. The restaurant has the potential to be a great spot, and the decor is nice as well. The problem is they charge premium prices for mediocre food. The service was not bad, but not great. For a $100 meal, I was highly disappointed with the quality of the food. There are better seafood places for 1/4 the price, you just don't get the stuffy atmosphere to go along. Pros: Decor, free Valet, Immediate seating (now I know why) Cons: Food, average service more

Best seafood 8/12/2006

when ever I want seafood, this is the place to be. The restaurant is nicely decorated and surprising casual. Everthing I have ever ordered here was great, I can taste the freshness of their seafood. The service is excellent everytime. Try the fried lobster tail, it's soo....good!! Their sushi is also good and big portion. Pros: very fresh seafood, free valet parking more

Great for Lunch 1/13/2006

Of all the times I dine here, 90% has been for lunch. Less crowded and better service offer a more desirable dining experience. Everything I've had here, from sushi to their specials, has been promptly served and delicious. Limited wine list, but with good selections, it's unfortunate that more aren't offerred by the glass. Pros: Sushi Cons: Corporate Gleam more

Exceptional Fooad and Service 10/7/2005

I have had the opportunity to enjoy several menu items. Every thing I have had to date has exceeded my expectations. I would recommend making reservations. The seafood is fresh and prepared perfectly. more

Highly Recommended!! 7/10/2005

I have been to ASC several times and each time was better than before. The fish is absolutely delicious and fresh. You must try the mussels. The wait staff is knowledgeable of the menu. I love the atmosphere. It is a great place for a quiet evening. Pros: fresh fish, wait staff, atmosphere more

our favorite! 7/8/2005

Our favorite place for seafood in Atlanta. I just wish the outside seating didn't feel like it was in a parking lot. more

Outstanding service plus incredible seafood 3/28/2005

In perusing the reviews, I expected fair service and long lines but good food. So, we tried it tonight (Monday). We got a reservation for the time we requested, were seated easily, and served immediately. Our server (Calvin, I think) was fabulous- knowledgable, witty, patient, with just the right amount of attentiveness. I had the Sashimi A plate ($25) - approx. 18 (?) pieces of the freshest raw fish this side of Japan. It did not look like a lot but it was very satisfying. We also had an Atlantic salmon special and wood-grilled Mountain Brook Trout. Place was noisy but we soon did not notice - good wine, great food, and fun company added up to a memorable evening! Pros: Fresh seafood, Excellent waiter, Fun atmosphere Cons: Too $$$ for everyday more
