I was a little concerned because I have dark skin and I heard some types of lasers don't work well on my skin color. I picked Assara since they told me they have the most state of the art laser available and that they can treat all skin types. I came in, spoke with a technician, and went for it. I couldn't be happier with the results. After just three treatments, my arms look soooo much better. So thanks a lot guys Pros: Great results more

I very much enjoyed my consultation with Assara Laser. The Specialist who did my consultation was very pleasant. The telephone receiptionist was very helpful and was able to answer almost each and every one of my questions prior to my consult, so I showed up prepared and well-informed, which is a personal must for me. Did they have a laser for light skin? "Yes" Could they treat me with a Yag laser when I'm tan? "Yes" How many treatments would I need? "It depends on your desired results; we can set a treatment protocol to get you 98% hair free with 6-8 treatments, or a lower percentage of effecitveness with fewer treatments. Tell me . . . what sort of results are you searching for . . . ?" Simply amazing that this could be done over the telephone PRIOR to my visit! Pros: two thumbs up. see my review for more detail! more

best laser hair removal treatments 12/4/2007

very clean; very professional; uses true LASER (not IPL); would further recommend. very important to go to a center that uses a real laser, as many places use antiquated IPL machines. Assara used the Cynosure Apogee Elite, which i understand is the gold-standard for lasers. totally satisfied here. more

This actually works 12/3/2007

Despite all of my previous attempts with laser hair removal, I was still...well let's just say I wasn't hairless. I got on this bandwagon in '98 because I was sick of growing hair in places I didn't think it belonged. The procedure wasn't exactly pain free and of course, I grew it all back. I thought I'd never try it again but one of my very close friends recommended Assara to me. Bottomline, you won't be disappointed. This actually works. I think a lot of it has to do with their equipment. A vendor can be as nice as they like to their customers but if they don't have the technology to back it up, then fugettaboutit. So to those who thought they would never go back or to those who have yet to try, this place is worth your time and money; this actually WORKS. Pros: No more hair Cons: I'm about to run out of reasons to go back and visit with the cool staff. more

I had treatment done at Assara earlier this year and recommend them to others who may be interested in the procedure. On my first visit I found the office was quiet and clean- so I felt comfortable. Excellent facility for cosmetic procedures 12/2/2007

Took my girlfriend here while in New York for business. She'd wanted to do laser hair removal but had been nervous. Assara's people made her feel totally comfortable. The staff is professional and highly competent, and totally dedicated to making the customer feel at ease. My girlfriend was very happy with her procedure... for that matter, so was I! think about it . . . why did you consider getting laser hair removal? was it for convenience? was it for cost-savings from waxing and threading? was it to just be smooth and hair free? these were reasons for me to just *try* laser hair removal. i've had two treatments so far, and luvvvvv the results. i don't worry about scheduling my twice-monthly visits to the salon to get waxed. i don't worry about paying $50 every two weeks for the rest of my life. best of all, in between my treatments i'm hair free, so i've gotten instant results. highly recommend. =) Pros: excellent location, pristine facility, manhattan quality more

Finally, a home away from home. 11/17/2007

My wife and I are busy executives who spend incredible sums on "Five Star" spa & beauty services worlwide. A personal New York sports personality friend of ours suggested we try Assara Laser on 51st Street. The results were awesome. My wife raves about the professional attention we received. The technicians actually cared about specific problems she had at other centres. Lasered areas on her body continuously regrew hair; I too complained about hair reappearing on my back and shoulders. Anyways, Assara Laser was marvelous at addressing our concerns. We have just completed out third and final (we hope) visit with results we are now proud to display. Each visit was a pleasure. We never had to wait beyond our scheduled appointments. Medicated creams were always available to reduce discomfort. Also the prices were reasonable. We were never asked for extra fees. I think our first consultation was even free. Great job guys! I wish you had branches in Europe. They would love you there! Best place I've been to.... 5/23/2007

Before coming to Assara, my girlfriend and I had tried out two other laser hair removal clinics. Although those clinics were not great, their prices were too high and lasers were sub-par. We heard of Assara through a friend, who has a dark complexion, and who was enrolled in the unlimited $599/month plan. Anyway, long story short, the specialists are awesome, the service is great, and the lasers are top of the line. We'd strongly recommend this place. I had my first treatment at assara yesterday. it was excellent. i let them know i would be posting a positive review of assara today. i've never had laser hair removal elsewhere so i cannot compare that experience. i know for certain that assara gives superlative service. i did have other expereinces when i *called* a few laser centers in the area. nobody would give me a quote, but when they found out i wanted to do my full body, they were all too excited to take my money. assara quoted me *over the telephone* $599 for their "unlimited package," which allows me to pay as i go, and do my entire body for monthy payment of $599. more

Very enjoyable; very relaxed; amazing results 11/22/2006

My boyfriend and I went by Assara last month for a test patch. Although we had very busy schedules, we wanted to make sure Assara was good as our friends were making it out to be. Test patch worked out (minimal pain), so we went back the next week for treatments (I did bikini, legs and arms; my boyfriend did upperarms, shoulders and back). Well, let me say that this place is great. The technicians are friendly, the prices are good, and most importantly, my hair is falling out. My only regret is that I waited so long to get treated. I love being smooth. :) Pros: Atmosphere, prices, great hours Cons: Wish they had a location in the Hamptons. more

Why go there ?? 7/1/2006

From the moment I started having my consultation things strated to go wrong. The technician's phone was ringing constantly. At one point, while she was looking at my bikini area, the owner barged in without knocking on the door. I was very embarrassed. In any case, she quoted me a price that was very high but lowered it if I bought a package. I really did not want to do a package as I did not know about this place. What if I was not happy??. The pressure tactics really bothered me. I had my patch test done and I am now looking for another centre. WHY ????? Cons: Pressure tactics, not professional, inexperienced more

I went to this place for consultation when I was visiting a friend at the same building.But amazingly,they didn't answer any of my questions,tried to sell me all the other stuff except laser,I waited for the technician to answer my questions for 45 minutes and she did not seem to me as a technician.They tried to convince me that they are in the business for a long time,but I found out that they have just opened their place.How can they lie like that?My friend is at the same building.So,for those people who want to go there,it is my duty to inform people that they should make a good search before they go to these places.Be really careful for these fake places more
