Keep on coming back because of their trained therapist. They really know where to focus to relax my stressed spots.

Worst

They do give a great ,deep massage: I left feeling relaxed.

Acupuncture saved my neck! 1/16/2005

I mean it! I like this place better than the other massage places in Midtown. Clean, warm massage tables, and it smells good. Instant service too. One hour of acupuncture and massage fixed a crink in my neck and upper shoulder that came from a long flight from Australia. I'm coming back! Pros: fast, clean more

Relief from pain! 1/12/2005

About ten days ago, I lost my balance while doing barbell shoulder presses in the gym. Afterwards, it hurt to turn my head sideways or forward. Hot water in the shower helped a little. But as soon as I went to Asia Tui-Na I got relief! Their therapist Dr. Hong, the strongest masseur I've seen in Manhattan, worked on the area and surrounding muscles for an hour. Boy, does it feel great to move again. Pros: deep tissue, good price, clean more

damn~ 1/7/2005

This place was a new discovery for me. Although I've been a martial arts practitioner for 4 years, I've never tried massage, (we were taught that hardship was the way to learn) but wow, these guys really help! After each session, I'm left feeling much lighter, and my body performance sky-rocketing, they've helped with many of my muscel pains I've gotten over the years. Trust me, if you haven't tried these days, you don't know what you're missing out Pros: reasonable price, punctuality, ease of access more

this really helps! 1/7/2005

if you're looking for a place to take your mind off of your daily stress, both in mind and body, you'll find no better place for that. You'll have your money well spent. They have really great customer service, and the atomosphere is perfect for what they're doing, that is making you feel as relaxed as possible, as a freshman in college, these guys have really saved me from my stressful school life, I'm definitely coming back for more! Pros: reasonable price, great atmosphere, easy to find more

WOW!! 12/14/2004

I have mild scoliosis that gets painful in the winter, and am seeing a back specialist. But this Chi Gong is an essential part of my therapy. After my treatment here, I felt about 10 pounds lighter, much less stiff and painful. Though May was a bit too strong at times, I had to let her know! I've been to a few other Chinese-bodywork places that are pretty good. But this is better than the best of them. And close to the office too. I'll definitely be back! Pros: my back feels great, price, good communication more

Perfect! Couldn't ask for more. 10/14/2004

If you're looking for a great deep tissue massage, this is the place. Great value for money, superb service and treatment, friendly staff, easy to make appointments (although this might and should deservedly change). This is the third qi-gong massage venue I've tried, and while all of them have been good - this is my first option by far. Pros: Great massage, Friendly staff, Great value for money more

AMAZING!!! 10/6/2004

I have gone numerous times and they manage to get the kinks out. I walk out of there feeling like a new person! Pros: knowledgable, well-trained, RELAXING more

Thank you, Citysearch! 9/23/2004

This place surpasses all the other massage salons I've been frequenting over the years. It's simple, direct, quiet, clean, *very* economical, with staff who treat me like a king! Their treatment always runs over the allotted time - they don't shave minutes like some other places. This is my new spa, an island of tranquility in the midst of the city! Pros: full value, I'm served right away, !!price!! more

They know about this place in London! 9/22/2004

Prices, service, courtesy, clean - THUMBS UP! Chinese friends in London told me. ""Next time you go to New York City, you want an authentic Chinese-style massage and acupuncture, great prices, go to this Asian tui-na place on Park Avenue."" So last time I was in town, I looked it up on the internet and tried it. I went to there with a headache. I had acupuncture with Dr. Wang, and then a one-hour massage after that. They do deep-tissue style, goes to the inside of the muscles and tendons. And feels great! My headache was totally gone, and my body felt light and very clear. They were even playing Chinese music which helps relax the stress. I floated out of there! And I will definitely recommend this to my friends in the U.K. and China. Pros: clean, smells good, true Chinese style, economical more

Great Prices, Skillful Hands 9/9/2004

I was very impressed with the skill and considerate treatment by my therapist. Although her English is not the most fluent in the world, she'd ask if the pressure was too light or too strong, and she adapted the pressure perfectly (I play trumpet, so my trapezius muscles often get stiff). The massage lasted a bit longer than the official hour, unlike some places which short your time. And since the price beats almost every other salon I've seen in Manhattan, I'll definitely be back! Pros: Generous, Efficient, Clean more

Made me feel weightless, I'm serious! 8/30/2004

Professional skill, good prices, great service, convenient hours, not a fancy setup, but clean and no waiting. Interesting music. Also they speak pretty good English, unlike some places I've been. I've had a lot of massages at spas, health clubs and similar salons, but this place is unique for several reasons. The Chinese tui-na style goes deeper into the muscles and meridians. It yields more healing than most Western styles inspired by Swedish massage. So instead of being like a backrub, it reaches the inner layers. This is why my old and inactive muscles and joints can now feel weightless, as though they carry themselves around! I just go along for the ride. Pros: price, the weightless feel more

Great massage + treated with respect 8/29/2004

When I came in for my massage, I was greeted very courteously, and guided right away to an ultra clean massage room. The massage made my body and spirit feel much better - they hit all the right spots. They don't sell products, so there's no pressure to buy anything. There's parking on the weekends, but during the week it's better to take the train. Pros: courtesy, competence more

It's the real thing! 8/27/2004

Several of my family members practice qi-gong and tui-na back in Shanghai, China. I came from there to NY to go to grad school at NYU. A school friend from China told me about Asia Tui Na. I went to give it a try. It's just like back home. My neck and shoulders were stressed from studying. They feel light and comfortable now! The salon even played music of the di-zi (Flute) and xiao (Recorder). Pros: centrally located, authentic tui-na more

What a relief! 8/27/2004

This is perfect for the stressed-out office worker. After a long week on the computer and the phone, this is definitely the thing! Just by touching, my therapist could tell where I was stiff. The prices are reasonable, I got a discount from Citysearch too. This salon is clean and smells nice and fresh. Pros: I feel much better, price, pleasant atmosphere more

Great for a cyclist's sore legs 8/27/2004

One of the NYC internet bicycling groups was talking about this place. I went in after a long bike ride. Their deep-tissue massage was able to free up my stiff neck and re-energize my quads and hamstring muscles. And I didn't feel sore the next day like I usually do! ""I'll be back!"" Pros: knew just what to do, no appt needed, quick service more

ahhhhhhh grrreeeaaat!!! 8/25/2004

first, these people are really nice, and it's easy to get to, right off the 6 subway. I really got a great massage. They gave me alot of attention when I had a really bad neck pain. Two of them worked on me to help me...it was great! I's quiet, clean and relaxing, the chinese soothing music really added a special touch.... Pros: Great Therapist, Good Energy, Great Location more

Begging for seconds 8/25/2004

Im new to NYC, but being a native Chinese, this place sure feels authentic. I was just browsing around the net the other day, and came across Asian Tui-na, and it just so happens to be around the neighborhood, so I figured Id give it a try, it really helps relieve stress, by the time I walked out of there, it was like my body was lifting itself up! Im definitely going back for seconds~ Pros: Atmosphere, Skill, Authenticity more

Surprise Healing! 8/24/2004

I'm in New York for the summer. One of my friends on the Internet told me about this place. I don't usually write reviews, but I'm a bodywork therapist myself and gave it a try. I can say that the form of Chinese Tui Na massage they do here is extremely effective. They teach it too, and I might take some lessons in it before I go back to San Diego. Anyway, the day I went, I was feeling some depression and despondency, as well stiffness in the shoulders. The shoulders felt better afterwards, yes. But what really surprised me was that my =emotional= state was uplifted! I totally didn't expect that. They play a kind of healing music that makes you feel very good. I heard about their cupping therapy, and I might try that next time. Pros: unexpected healing, prices, evening hours more

Relaxing treatment for avid Cyclist! 8/24/2004

I'm an avid cyclist and former bike messenger. I come all the way from uptown to Asia Tui-Na, once or twice every week. I treat my leg and shoulder muscles to the reparation they do here. May Shao and Dr. Hong are masters! They can tell from the sense of touch just where there is soreness or fatigue or aches in the muscles. When I leave, I feel supple, strengthened and energized! I've been recommending this place to other cyclists I know. Pros: They know their stuff, Price, Bike parking!! more

Lower back pain fixed! 8/23/2004

My lower back has hurt for many years. I came to do business in New York from Guangzhuo, China in August. Friends introduced me to this salon, Asia Tui Na Park Ave., Chinese style massage. (and they speak Chinese and English.) They did Qi-Gong Tui-na for one hour. After, I was amazed, my pain was gone. After years, what a surprise! Pros: long time pain gone, massage like in China more

  • Tui-Na is Chinese massage. It is an ancient form of Chinese therapeutic deep-tissue bodywork. It brings stimulation to the muscles and circulation, and targets the body's energy meridians. It allows blocked energy to flow. It is based on ancient Chinese medical principles, which teach health as a balance between Yin and Yang, and an unblocked flow of "Chi," or vital energy.
