Best

Keep on coming back because of their trained therapist. They really know where to focus to relax my stressed spots.

Worst

They do give a great ,deep massage: I left feeling relaxed.

best massage in NYC 6/4/2006

After the reviews, I decided to give this place a shot. The prices were cheap and I made and appointment late and at the last minute. All I have to say is don't go looking for some sort of rubbydubBliss stuff. This is BODYWORK. Sometimes a little rough. But it felt fabulous. The Dr. was up on the table at many points and went straight for the problem spots without me even telling him. By the time my hour was up, I was sweating from the heat and pressure of his hands. Best massage I've ever had, I kid you not. I also got a facial special, just 110 for 1 hour massage and 1 hour facial. It was good. Lady went over time. Bad thing was that she was also answering phones during my facial - bluetooth style. Tipped $20 for massage Dr. and $15 for facial. Much deserved. Pros: efficent - clean, mindful experts, best massage ever more

Great help for sciatica, thank you! 5/22/2006

I had sciatica pain for a week, so I decided some massage might help. Lisa worked the muscles on the whole length of the nerve with surgical precision. She even found some knots I didn't know about, 4 in total along the sciatic nerve. No wonder I was in pain. I feel much better and will go back. I liked the no-nonsense professional atmosphere. more

Magic Hands 5/21/2006

May's magic hands almost had a healing effect on my back. She knew exactly which parts needed the most work and she took care of them. The rest of the staff is super friendly too. I would recomend asia tui na to anyone from a novice to an experienced massage lover. Pros: Price, Flexible Hours more

Hurt so good! Best deal in NYC! 5/18/2006

For only $55 you will get a great massage! My masseuse worked out knots like her life depended upon it. I also really enjoyed the hot towels. This is not something I had experienced before. If you want a great deal on a massage then this is the place for you. Very friendly staff too! Pros: Value, Location, Skill more

No more drinking 4/30/2006

If this didn't work, I'd never mention it. But I'm very happy to say -- acupuncture with Dr. Li helped my drinking problem. I went from drinking heavily, being drunk about 5 days a week -- and then not at all. I'm not sure how it works, but the acupuncture made the desire to drink go away! There are so many who could benefit by this, I would like all to know. Pros: Not expensive, Professional more

Fantastic Massage! 4/9/2006

This is one of the best massage experiences I ever had. I walked in 'by accident' and have been a regular since. I felt like Dr. Hong took me apart in little pieces and put me back together, and I did not even need to tell him where my problems were, he just found them right away. I walked out relaxed and completely revived. You owe it to yourself to give this a try if you're looking for a great treatment! more

realxed withouth paying a fortune! 3/28/2006

I cam e to work on a Tuesday very tense and uncomfortable. I decided I needed a lunchtime massage so I went looking on Citysearch. The staff at Asia Tui-Na were able to fit me in with no problem. The salon is basic, with rooms separated by thick curtains. The atmosphere was relaxing, comfortable tempurature-wise, overall relaxing. Linda (her English name) was my masseuse and kept her massage at ""medium"" like I chose when we began. The massage lasted a little longer than the 45 minutes I paid for and was in stages. I left relaxed, with no aches or pains. I went back to work feeling calm and soothed. Thank you! Pros: Inexpensive, good technique, availability Cons: decor, curtain walls more

Wow, like a doctor! 3/26/2006

I work over a keyboard during the week, and do yoga when I can. When all the stressing and stretching begins to hurt my neck and shoulders, I go see May at Asia Tui-Na. I'm not sure exactly what she does, but it's fantastic for pain and immobility. I know there's massage, medicinal liniment and some other acupressure technique. But the pain always disappears! I've gone to other massage places, even payed a lot more, and the pain was still there. May's the best! Pros: It works, clean, no waiting Cons: plain decoration more

Acupunture helped my fertility! 1/8/2006

Thanks to Dr. Li! My husband and I wanted a child, and for over a year I was having trouble getting pregnant. We had gone to doctors and they could find nothing wrong. Last resort, I tried traditional Chinese medicine with Dr. Li. Over a course of nine weeks she gave me acupuncture and Chinese medicine - and on the tenth week I took a home pregancy test and confirmed with my family doctor. It's a baby! Pros: compassionate, professional, miracle! more

My ER for headache and stress! 10/30/2005

I always doubted these Tui Na places in NY because I didn't think they were professional and skilled. However, Asia Tui Na changed my point of view completely. Gee, they are just as highly skilled as those in Taiwan and China!!! Trust me, they are awesome. more

I'm a believer now! 8/16/2005

I was suffering from carpal tunnel for a while, and I was so desparate for a relief. I was skeptical and somewhat nervous about the whole needle thing, but my pain is almost gone and my whole body feels great! I'm suppose to get 5 treatments, and and I got my 3rd this morning... I can't believe I can do the things I couldn't do for a while. Dr. Li is amazing, she is very nice and makes me feel like I'm in good hands. I've told all my friends about this place, and I will continue to go back there whenever I'm not feeling my best. Thank you so much Citysearch and Dr. Li! more

My first acupuncure - wonderful 7/12/2005

I was hesitant because of the needle thing - but Dr. Li's whole procedure was painless and really helped! The pain's gone. I had a stiffness in my neck with sharp pain when I turned my head from side to side. We did a medical consultation, then on to the acupuncture. After that she perscribed a relaxing medicinal tea that I sip slowly at work and also before going to bed. This removes strain from a sedentary office lifestyle. Dr. Li is very well educated, published, with excellent English and a sense of humor. Pros: pain gone, good interaction, no waiting more

It's Worth It! 5/25/2005

This is one of the most economical massages I received in NYC. I walked in with a stiff back and walked out feeling so much better. The masseuge was very attentive -- constantly adjusting his style and strength on my problem areas. I would certainly come back. Pros: economical, clean, skilled staff more

Acupuncture and massage - both great 5/13/2005

My friends told me about this place. I came for acupuncture and massage. I'd had a tension headache for a few weeks, and my shoulders were pretty stressed too. Dr. Li's acupuncture session was like an entire medical consultation, topped off with herbal tea. My headache left and hasn't returned!! Then I had a massage with May - now she has fingers! May was able to find the spots where my tension was most concentrated. My upper back and shoulders feel great now. I've made another appointment for next week even though I live on the upper east side! I love the cleanliness and relaxing Chinese music too. Pros: Cleanliness, Skill, Professionalism Cons: a bit far from home more

find 5/1/2005

This place is def a find, hard to come across places like this in NYC. Its not too fancy but it does what it needs to - a good massage. more

Average at Best 4/10/2005

I've tried several asian massage spas, and this was just as average as most of them. I'm a woman and you can get the sense that the ladies working there only want to work on men due to the tips. I speak and understand chinese, so I was able to understand some of the conversations going on. They spoke of small tips and women. I guess I will take my small tip and business elsewhere. Pros: none that i can see Cons: atmosphere, people, lack of communication more

I'm in heaven 4/2/2005

Annie is the greatest! She knew just what to do for my back and shoulders. I work in a translator's office, all week bent over at a desk. I went to Asia Tui-Na with stiff, tense shoulders and an aching lower back. I liked the massage so much that about halfway through the hour, I extended it to 90 minutes! Afterwards, movement has felt free and easy. Annie knows her deep-tissue therapies. A bonus - even though I speak Chinese, I was glad to see Annie's English was so good. Pros: Midtown location, deep tissue skills, communcation more

Not exactly what i expected 3/6/2005

tried asia tui-na because i walkied by it, of course everyone is always cheerful but i wanted a god masage for my back soreness. What i received the the regular pushing and tugging. i left with a sorness in my lower back and my wallet lighter from the expected tip. more

Good experience 3/4/2005

Rencently I got a very good massage in Asia tui-na by Mis Wu ping. she is a very nice massager and her deep tissue massage is really a pain-killer. I strongly recommend the right place and right massager. more

The best massage I've had in NYC 2/28/2005

It's a pity that the sense of privacy is a bit less in this space, as the massage tables are only separated by curtains, yet there is soothing Chinese music playing to create a sense of harmony. I have gone back repeatedly for 90 minute sessions with Mr. Hong, who may well be one of the best masseurs I have ever encountered! He doesn't miss a single muscle group and he even climbs on the table to use his full wait for a strong, deep tissue massage. Also, the tables are really comfortable and heated. Highly recommended for those who are looking for a strong pair of hands that go really deep. Pros: great price/quality, very skilled, conveniently located more

  • Tui-Na is Chinese massage. It is an ancient form of Chinese therapeutic deep-tissue bodywork. It brings stimulation to the muscles and circulation, and targets the body's energy meridians. It allows blocked energy to flow. It is based on ancient Chinese medical principles, which teach health as a balance between Yin and Yang, and an unblocked flow of "Chi," or vital energy.
