Just don't do it...or, at least don't use the installers. We had a small area in our one bathroom house, that needed tile. Nothing fancy, but because it was the area around the toilet and shower, the bathroom was rendered unusable until the tile would be installed. We were quoted that the tile would take two weeks to get in, and that they would come the following thursday, and it would be a three day job to get the tile installed, set the grout, and seal the job before we could shower in our bathroom. We agreed and planned on showering at the gym or our parents' house for those 2 1/2 weeks. Well, the day before they were supposed to come and install our tile, they called and said that our tile wasn't in yet...in fact they had not ordered it yet!!!! Then, after we paid extra money (on top of what we paid 2+ weeks prior) to get the order expedited, they said that they were overbooked and had to reschedule for another week out. When that week came, they called again and said they had to reschedule....this went on for about 2 months (!). After explaining that not being able to use our own restroom for two month was unacceptable, they appologised, and credited us back some of the cost of the bid, and sent someone out who at first, seemed to do a good job...however, he did not clean up after himself, and when we lifted the tarps on our brand new sink and marble counter top, and our newly installed tub, we found that he had cracked our sink and broken the drain on the tub!! And ran off planning not to tell us!!! What crap!! We have since noticed continuing issues with the installation that should have been addressed beyond these problems. We have every intention to make sure that everyone we know will avoid Art Tile like the plague!!
