Archie McPhee is a Seattle tradition (even if I haven’t really forgiven them for moving to Ballard) that’s been around for longer than I have. They have all of your novelty item needs from rubber chickens to severed hands. Rolling eyeballs? They’ve got em. Boxing nuns? They’ve got em. Fake bugs and snakes? They’ve got em. I haven’t checked for that hot pepper gum but I’d be willing to bet they’ve got it. Perfect for party favors or your Passover plagues. more

Funky Gifts in Ballard 8/17/2005

Archie's has it all- gag gifts, party decorations, hazmat suits, tiny croquet wielding pirate figurines. If you're looking for something obscure and geeky this is the first place you should look. Located right on Market Street in Ballard, it's easy to find. The store has gotten a little trendy in the past couple of years but it's still the only place to find some really bizarre stuff. more

I love this store! In case you didn't hear me, I love this store! It has tons of cheesy gift s and accessories that you don't need, but will want as soon as you see them. First of all, I love the Devil Duckie line. After all, who wouldn't want a rubber duckie that has horns adorning the bath tub? And, if you haven't seen the action figure collection, it is worth a view. They have the Crazy Cat Lady, the Barista, the Librarian, and an assortment of historical figures. There is oh so much more than that, but I really feel you should see it for yourself. more

Oh the things you will find! 6/12/2005

This place rules! You will find the most bizarre items in this place. My kids have a blast rummaging through Archie McPhee. It is the kind of place PW Herman would freak out in. From Mannequin parts to the The Albino Bowler Action Figure! You name it you will find it! Great things for you parties of any sort. They have mail order too! more
