I needed a dress for a formal family function. I went to Angel Bridal thinking that I could find a dress. All the dresses have to be ordered which takes several weeks. They make a very big deal of the whole process, and everything was overly complicated... which should have been a sign to me to RUN out of there... But, I stayed and ordered a dress. I am very calm and easy going and have never had a problem in ANY store!! The owner and her daughter measured me. Weeks and weeks later my dress arrived. When it came in they made it very difficult to get an appointment with the dressmaker. When I came in the attitude of the staff had changed. They were very short with me, and talked about other customers right in front of me. I am large chested and the lady helping me found this fascinating and called other staff in who also had rude remarks to say to my face!!. I was horrified. The dress was at least 3 sizes too big, which I paid more for!! The staff mostly sit in a room upstairs eating, and loudly laughing about customers. I have a family member who is very well known on Staten Island and they somehow figured this out, and asked me numerous innapropriate questions about him. It was very uncomfortable and unprofessional. At that point I felt trapped and just wanted to finish up with them. When I returned for the next fitting the dress was terribly altered and basically ruined. Even the seamstress seemed embarrassed about it. I just left and took the dress to put this nightmare behind me. I never wore the dress ( it was ill fitting and cheap looking) and bought something elsewhere. The owner was disinterested and really did not care about her businees or reputation. I honestly find this whole experience very strange. Since then many other people have told me that they also have assorted horror stories about this store, and in particular the owner and her daughter. Why would a well known family run a store like this and treat customers so badly that they never will return?? Something just does not make sense to me.
