CLOSED 6/13/2008

I loved Anderton's, but it closed. (I think in 2004) Many locals ate there for years, and it was one of the best known sources for oysters on the half shell. The building is empty now. more

WORST SERVICE EVER 11/14/2004

Incredibly slow service, food was cold. Very apologetic server, said (without us asking for it) she would look into taking a few things off the bill to compensate. When she bought the bill, said the Owner wouldn't let her comp anything. When I spoke (nicely!) to the owner, she yelled at me, stormed into her office and slammed the door! She and kitchen employees actually mocked us as we left! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE, EVER, FOR ANY REASON. more

Try the Bar 5/17/2004

Didn't eat in the restaurant but at the bar and LOVED it! The fantailed shrimp were perfect -- and the oysters! --wow what a deal! only $4 a half dozen! Great bread basket with cheesey toasts and buns. GREAT bar that's shaped like a pirate ship! Love it love it! Pros: food, comfy, price more

UGH!!! 5/12/2003

My son and niece took my sister and I to Andertons the day after Mother's Day. My salmon was dry and overcooked, the potato was dry and undercooked, but at least it was edible. My sister and niece had the stuffed flounder and it was horrible! The fish was cold, the stuffing nasty, and the stuffed potato was stuffed with something that couldn't possibly have been meant for human consumption. And the owner refused to take their meals off the tab, even though they didn't eat! The service was lousy as well. All in all a very disappointing experience! Pros: none Cons: horrible food, poor service, not clean more

best oysters 8/7/2002

Anderton's Restaurant serves great food-consistantly, and has withstood the test of time. The owners and managers there ensure that the meals are prepared with top quality ingredients and the service is superb. Pros: delicious, inexpensive, great parking Cons: crowded, reserv.for 8 or more, no deliveries more
