Nice neighborhood bowling alley 12/7/2008

Though Mar Vista Bowl is similar to all the other AMF bowling alleys, Mar Vista bowl has always been my favorite, most likely because I've been coming here since I can remember. The atmosphere is not as trendy as Lucky Strike, however, it's a great bowling alley if you are looking simply to bowl. Prices are competitive and they are open late, until 1AM on Fri and Sat and until 11PM all other days. They offer birthday parties, leagues etc. and the food is better than other bowling alleys I've been to. Overall, a good bowling alley and always a lot of fun. more

Mar Vista Bowling 5/16/2008

Mar Vista Bowling is a great place to bowl. They do a terrific job organizing children's birthday parties and at a very reasonable price. You bring the food and cake, they supply the invitations, decorations and the birthday child receives a bowling pin for their friends to sign. I've been here twice now just for that reason. They also have a small video game arcade. more

Very cool 50s vibe 11/15/2005

I had a lot of fun at this place with my friends last week. This is a great hang out place and alternative to bars... it's quite retro and reminiscent of the 50s, but that's just what I found real fun! We all rented our shoes there since none of us had our own. They are pretty clean. The only con might be the pins which look older.. but that adds charm to the place! the prices are a bargain!! more

So, the place looks like it's a throw-back to the fifties, but still a cool joint to hang out at with friends and family! Attached is a little diner with good food and also a bar. A novel place for a kid's party (or even an adult's birthday perhaps).Shoe rental is available for those who don't have their own two-tone pair sitting at home. more
