My hair has always been brassy, and orange whenever an salon has ever tried to make me blonde, and if its not orange its broken and white. My stylist at Is the best, she throughly listened to my consultation and did exactly what i wanted. My hair feels better than it has ever felt. My husband loves it! I went to Allen Edwards Salon, and my experience was wonderful. Ive been to many salons in the valley and over the hill and Ive never had a better salon experience than this one. Do not go to Allen Edwards for highlights if your a blonde. He did about 15 foils, whereas any other stylist does about 50-60 on my hair. Additionally the color is terrible. A gold that looks orange with the rest of my hair. He started on the back, got a phone which he took for about ten minutes, then when he came back did the front and no more in the back. You would think the owner knows what he is doing...not here! I politely let him know I was not I was not pleased with his service and he got an attitude and walked away. more

Allen Edwards has been my mothers, my sisters and my hairdresser for years. I swore by him and would never go anywhere else. Woodlands Hills, Studio City, Brentwood, whichever salon he was working in that day is where I went. Although he is known for his slightly uneven haircuts (and loves to try to persuade you to let him cut your long hair short), I went to him for highlights and root touch-ups mostly. One day he left me under the dryer too long ( I think he forgot about me) and burned off the top layers of my hair! Not only did he charge me for the visit AND blame this one time event on the cons of 'overproccessed hair' (which he seemingly self- admitted to overprocessing himself), in his attempt to fix it which only made it worse, he charged me for that visit too! I have long hair so when the burned off parts grew out they stuck straight out of my long hair. It was awful. I now go to one of his past assistants and will never ever ever go back to Allen. Pros: many locations around LA Cons: None, if you want your hair burned off more

I am extremely picky about hair dressers and have a huge fear of getting my hair cut. Amy Edwards is amazing - she gave me exactly what I asked for, and four months later, people still ask me if I just got my hair cut! A perfect bob, and the highlights were so well blended that I haven't needed to go back for touch-ups either. Yay! more

Allen Edwards is a great salon! This salon has a great atmosphere. All stylists are required to go through a 2 year advanced training program after getting their licenses in order to be a stylist at Allen Edwards. Allen Edwards Salon does have a high volume clientele, if you are a client that needs more one on one attention from your stylist i would reccomend not going in on a Sat. They do great work, and you will feel amazing by the time you leave the salon. more

This place wants to appear like a high class salon but it really is not consistent - it seems like it's not hands-on managed. Most of the young staff hang out in the back having a lot of fun, which means the service is so-so. I used to go for hair and electrolysis. The person who did the electrolysis told me it would take a year of treatments and 6 months into it, she stopped doing electrolysis. And they have no replacement person. I used to go to a female hairdresser who was good but so uneven - cuts were great when she paid attention, some were barely decent... and she thought it was okay to take cell phone calls, and if she was running late, she would rush through my hair to get to the next person. Seems like prices went up .... It's just not worth the money. Pros: Location, Appointment avail. Cons: Inconsistent, Not managed well, Like a factory more

The stylist ran thirty minutes late, and then left me in the middle of the haircut to work on someone else's hair for more than thirty minutes. The haircut was bad and the stylist's attitude was terrible. more

My boyfriend gave me the executive treatment for Valentine's day and it was one of the most incredible spa experiences I've had - and I've had some good ones! The staff was friendly and highly skilled. I loved my massage and facial and the manicure was a lot of fun (never had a hand mask before.) The package might seem a bit pricey, but not for nearly three hours of pampering. Check it out yourself! more

I followed Allen from Beverly Hills (2 locations -- the 2nd was brief) to his Santa Monica salon. I was always pleased with the result over a period of 2 years, but the Santa Monica location was not as convenient for me. I always scheduled it around Allen's availability -- so can't say what the experience might be with other operators. But Allen was always the best. I just went to Allen Edwards for the first time and I am so glad I did! I was referred by a friend and I could kiss her because I love my hair so much. Emily is amazing with color and the scissors -- I highly reccomend both her and the salon. It is so easy to get there from LA and parking is a snap (free valet). Added bonus: A Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf right next door! more

The Allen Edwards Salon on Laurel Canyon and Ventura Blvd in Studio City is GREAT!! The staff is always friendly and fun. The people who go there are interesting and colorful. Maureen is the greatest of all. Tell her Nancy sent you!! They also have a spa and make up personnel. Pros: easy parking, friendly, fun Cons: nothing i can think more
