this is my personal experience and this is not meant to dispute anyone's personal experience. I'm a huge bargain shopper, before I buy anything I always check online prices. Also, I am a first time rider so I was very careful and did a lot of due diligence when I bought my parts/accessories. I recently bought at Alamo Cycle-Plex (ACP), a Scorpion helment EXO 700 Blk Chameleon (paid $169ish - online around $249), J.Rocket Reactor jacket (paid $90ish - online $178ish), Cobra freeway bars (paid $150ish - online $170ish), Mentzlers Marathon tires (less than $10-$20 off best online price) for my Honda VT1100C2 Sabre. I searched on several sites including Motorcycle-Superstore and BikeBandits, etc and found some very competitive pricing. When I call Alamo Cycle-plex and told them the price I found, I was given a much better price, sometimes over $100 off the price that I was quoted online. (Using 50% off coupon) Each time I called I gave them the best price I could find online and they beat it. Also, they email a coupon to you if you sign up to receive their specials. I highly recommend this. I saved 50% off of my jacket when I bought it. It retails for $180 plus depending on vendor. I got for around $90 w/ coupon. Awesome deal. Also, I forgot to bring a 30% off coupon on parts/accessories and only received the in-store 20% off discount, still a great price for Cobra freeway bars, around $150ish. I called and spoke with a manager in sales and he said that he will honor the 30% off coupon and give me back 10% from my previous purchase of the bars and gloves. I was not expecting this sort of customer service but I felt that it didn't hurt to ask. Now, I have read the negative reviews regarding service and I had just bought tires from ACP and needed to get them installed. Despite the reviews and after speaking with the service manager, I had them installed at ACP. They did a great job for a great price ($29 per tire plus parts and taxes). Before I brought my bike, I spoke with the service manager about the reviews and my reluctance. He was very understanding and gave me his personal assurance that all will be done correctly. I believed him and he was right. I had a mechanically experience friend inspect the bike and he said the work was done well. So my personal experience is that ACP is a great store to find bargain prices and they have a good management team. I would highly recommend ACP. I would strongly suggest that you always ask what the final price will be on any service job and leave no room for misunderstanding or false assumptions. Here's an example, they have an oil change special for $19.99 but this doesn't include parts, only labor. Now if I hadn't asked, then I would have been surprised by the final price. I chose not to have it done there and do it myself. Had I assumed that the special included parts then I would have had rec'd a big surprise. So ask, ask, ask and never assume, this would be for anyplace you do business with. FYI, while I was having my tires installed I asked other patrons about their past/current experiences. Those that I spoke with said they were/are happy with ACP.
