Abraham, the Dealership is always here 6/1/2012

Abraham, the Dealership is always here for you and would like to help you purchase a motorcycle in the future. Unfortunately the bike you attempted to trade in had been involved in an accident (complete repaint and fairing replacement) and used to Drag race(drag strap installed.) Once this was discovered and pointed out to you it was then the trade value became unacceptable. In the future tell us up front so the trade value won't be affected. As for the haggling ,we took your word and agreed to a price match from another dealer. You continued the back and forth and extended your timeline by calling the other dealer and trying to better the deal. We understand everyone wants the best deal possible and always try to be accomidating, however it was not us who continued the confusion. Let us know how to assist you in the future, thanks. DO NOT buy from Alamo Cycle Plex. i had 5/29/2012

DO NOT buy from Alamo Cycle Plex. i had the worst experience ever. Sales associate agreed on price then he went back on it. we haggled for hours. i finally agreed then they declined my trade after the had already inspected it. It was a complete waste of my time. They are cocky and talk the talk but don't walk the walk. I'll take my business else where. Ride safe!! Pros: null Cons: null more

Values Sales Employees more than Customers 5/7/2012

It is too bad they still the "all about ME" attitude for as long as they have been in San Antonio and the nepotism that continues even in the Sales Department. I will order online from tinbuck too before I give them a dollar,. If you buy a bike there ask one of them how many times has it been dropped in the back.....ask if any parts have been replaced due to negligence, there is one old timer Salesman who has been there for ever, he will lie to your face and smile........ Horrible Customer Service 3/29/2012

We just had a horrific experiance with Alamo Cycle Plex in San Antonio. We are shopping for a new ranger we asked very specifically what the price was on the one we were interested in. We were given a round about number however we were told that they needed to make a sale becasue of it being the end of the month and they would work with us. We asked if they would price match and they said of course. As the day went on figures were discussed and my husband and I were very firm that if we could walk out the door at a certain price that we would buy today. Pay half down in cash and finance the remainder. We were told by the sales person Carlos that we would be out the door at that price and to come back in, they would have the ranger pulled in and cleaned up. After pulling a trailer to their store 45 minuted from our home when we arrived the ranger was still sitting were we had last seen it. Then we had to wait a bit for Carlos to come and talk with us and at that time he said that we need to pay an extra $1100 over what we had agreed on. Then we were passed on to the general manager who in turn was not very respectful to my husband and at that time Carlos lied saying he never said we would be out the door at that specific price. They told us they would be crazy to sell it for the price we agreed on bc they would not be making anything off the deal...... they shouldnt have agreed on the price in the first place. If it all would have been handled a differant way we possibly would have agreed to pay a bit more but the situation was handled horribly so we left to come home with an empty trailer. We will be visiting Hoffpauir tomorrow. Pros: null Cons: null more

Customer service sucks 12/26/2011

I bought a used Honda Goldwing a couple of weeks ago. Before I could take it for a test ride, they had to jump the battery. I took the bike for a ride and bought it two days later. I asked them about the battery and was told they would change it out and give me a new one. After doing the paperwork, I was given one key to the bike. I asked about a second key and was told they didn't have one to come back and have one made. I went back two days later to have a key made and they charged me $26 dollars. I told them I just bought the bike from them two days earlier and they still charged me. Back to the battery. I wasn't able the ride bike for three days because of the recent weather in San Antonio. I finally was able to or wanted to go out for a ride and my bike wouldn't start. I took off the panel to check the battery and low and behold, it was an old battery. I took the battery out and went down to see if they would give me a new one. Of course they will, at my expense. Their customer service is horrible. I will make sure that any maintenance done on my bike will not be done at ACP. This is my third bike I've bought from them and they will not get another cent from me. Pros: null Cons: null more

knows his products 10/25/2010

I use to work for Palm Harbor homes, Sears and worked with the state food stamp program here in Texas, the most important part of those positions was customer service. Rick?s customer service skills are wonderful, he asks good questions listens to your answers which makes it easier for him to help his customers find what they are looking for. His knowledge of your products was wonderful. I use to preach to my employees, how important it is to know your product to be able to successfully sell it. He knows his products. more

would highly recommend ACP 10/22/2010

this is my personal experience and this is not meant to dispute anyone's personal experience. I'm a huge bargain shopper, before I buy anything I always check online prices. Also, I am a first time rider so I was very careful and did a lot of due diligence when I bought my parts/accessories. I recently bought at Alamo Cycle-Plex (ACP), a Scorpion helment EXO 700 Blk Chameleon (paid $169ish - online around $249), J.Rocket Reactor jacket (paid $90ish - online $178ish), Cobra freeway bars (paid $150ish - online $170ish), Mentzlers Marathon tires (less than $10-$20 off best online price) for my Honda VT1100C2 Sabre. I searched on several sites including Motorcycle-Superstore and BikeBandits, etc and found some very competitive pricing. When I call Alamo Cycle-plex and told them the price I found, I was given a much better price, sometimes over $100 off the price that I was quoted online. (Using 50% off coupon) Each time I called I gave them the best price I could find online and they beat it. Also, they email a coupon to you if you sign up to receive their specials. I highly recommend this. I saved 50% off of my jacket when I bought it. It retails for $180 plus depending on vendor. I got for around $90 w/ coupon. Awesome deal. Also, I forgot to bring a 30% off coupon on parts/accessories and only received the in-store 20% off discount, still a great price for Cobra freeway bars, around $150ish. I called and spoke with a manager in sales and he said that he will honor the 30% off coupon and give me back 10% from my previous purchase of the bars and gloves. I was not expecting this sort of customer service but I felt that it didn't hurt to ask. Now, I have read the negative reviews regarding service and I had just bought tires from ACP and needed to get them installed. Despite the reviews and after speaking with the service manager, I had them installed at ACP. They did a great job for a great price ($29 per tire plus parts and taxes). Before I brought my bike, I spoke with the service manager about the reviews and my reluctance. He was very understanding and gave me his personal assurance that all will be done correctly. I believed him and he was right. I had a mechanically experience friend inspect the bike and he said the work was done well. So my personal experience is that ACP is a great store to find bargain prices and they have a good management team. I would highly recommend ACP. I would strongly suggest that you always ask what the final price will be on any service job and leave no room for misunderstanding or false assumptions. Here's an example, they have an oil change special for $19.99 but this doesn't include parts, only labor. Now if I hadn't asked, then I would have been surprised by the final price. I chose not to have it done there and do it myself. Had I assumed that the special included parts then I would have had rec'd a big surprise. So ask, ask, ask and never assume, this would be for anyplace you do business with. FYI, while I was having my tires installed I asked other patrons about their past/current experiences. Those that I spoke with said they were/are happy with ACP. more
