I came to Affordable Tire & Brake after getting a recommendation from a friend. My first experience was good, they were very friendly and it was an enjoyable experience. The rates were decent, but the wait was long. My second experience was the complete opposite. I came back to get a part replaced (same as the first visit), but they doubled my price and gave me a lot of attitude. It was almost as if they didn't want to repair the car and it through me off because my first visit was so great. The attitude came from one person who may have had a bad day, but the attitude & doubling the price for the exact same repair convinced me to never come back. Cons: Inconsistent, Long Wait more

I needed new tires for my car. I shopped around and found a couple places that had my tires for what seemed like a good price. I went here beacause they were close to my house and had a good price. The service was great the car was done right on time. While they were working on it they asked me to come out and take a look at something. They pointed out a couple of repairs that needed to be done. What I really liked is they showed me where my oil was leaking and why my tires needed to be aligned. No aggressive pushing to fix it just showed me the problem. I didn't have time to fix it right away but they gave me a price and I went home and shopped around to see if the price was reasonable. The price they gave me was by far the best I found. I made an appointment to get the work done and again dropped the car off at the appointed time and it was done by the time they said it would be. here is the story. I had an appointment at noon. I arrived there 10 mins earlier and saw a BMW being fixed. A manager, Brandon, told me that my car would be the next one after the BMW, which would be done in 10 mins. I waited for 40 mins and saw a wagon getting fixed after BMW, so i asked why it wasn't mine. The manager said this car would be done real quick probably 10 mins, so I was ok. Meanwhile, I just recognize that he gave me a quote just $80, not $90 as stated in the estimated price in their work sheet. So, I asked about this and he said here was the price list. It was labeled here on the wall and I couldn't do it at $80. It's up to you if you wanna leave. At that point, I had been waiting for almost an hour so I thought it's just $10, I shouldn't give up. I had been waiting until 1.30PM and pretty sure that mine would not get fixed in the next hour since a mechanic fixing the wagon told me that he was on just a half way. I asked the manager again that what time you would let mine in. The answer was I could grab your key real quick and you could go!! Question, what is the point of making an appointment? Whatever it is, I wrote this just because I wanna let you know that this place provides an undoubtedly BAD SERVICE, so DON'T GO THERE. Pros: nothing Cons: lots more

This place is way more trouble than it's worth! I had a appointment at 11 am and was told it would be ready in a hour. I waited around for 4 hours! Each time i checked in they assured me that my car was the next in line, but they lied! The last time i checked in with them and finally got mad, they put the car right up and changed the oil, but of course they skipped rotating the tires as i had requested! Don't bother checking these guys out, their service is terrible! Pros: They send free oil change vouchers to their neighbors Cons: They don't have the service to make it worth while more

About a week ago I was getting the oil changed on my car I have a 10 year old Honda and though I try to take good care of it, its needing more and more attention these days. The Manager of the oil change place said I needed brakes. I asked how much and he says $300. That seemed a little high to me and I wasn't really impressed with the place so I didn't let them fix it. more

I have been going to Affordable Tire for a few years now. I am always pleased with the work and satisfied with the price. The times I have checked around they are cheaper than other shops. I have been to the Affordable Tire and Brake on 4-5 times for different services but this time I had to let people know what a great place this is. I have always had good service and been pleased with the price. I went in with a flat tire- completely flat I was on my way to work. They got my car right in because I told them I was on the way to work. After a couple of minutes the manager guy showed me the tire was all torn up because I drove on it while it was flat. So now I need a new tire of course its some odd size that they don't carry in stock (04 Mini Cooper). I am panicking and the manager guy offers me a loaner tire so I can get to work without having to drive the day on my little donut spare. They put it on and I am out of there in 26 mins flat. They have the new tire by that afternoon and I get it put on after work at 5:30 on my way home. Fast service, good prices and nice guys. Thanks so much! As far as Seattle auto repair goes, Affordable Tire and Brake has got to be one of the best for scamming it's customers. If you take your vehicle there for repairs, other than free flat repairs or an oil change, you are taking a huge risk with your money, time and vehicle. They have a bad habit of not telling their customers the whole story... immediately. Let me explain; When you take your car there for repairs they will inspect your vehicle and give you an estimate of repairs. Fine. You authorize the repair because it's cheaper than anywhere else in Seattle. Then, an hour or so later, they call you and tell you there is a problem with some other component. Unfortunately, you already authorized the previous repairs and it can't be completed without spending more money. Basically they hold your car hostage until you spend the money or toe your car out. They already knew that the component was damaged ahead of time but they want to present you a smaller-cost estimate so that you will agree to some of the work. There are about 2, actually honest employees in the entire company, and only 1 of them is behind the counter. 1 of them is NOT the owner. Don't waist your time and money on these guys. I had gotten a price on the brakes elsewhere and was not comfortable with the price of the shop. Was recommended by my Brother to try these guys. They not only explained what needed to be fixed but showed me. And charged 30% less than the other guys! Car works great now!
