One of Chicago's best theaters 6/25/2006

How can you not find something to like with 21 screens? The seats are comfortable and the sound system is good, but you are going to pay a little bit more here. Take advantage of their validated parking to save some money. If you didn't enjoy your movie selection, you can explore the area which is filled with fun places to eat, a bowling alley next door and you're only a couple of blocks away from Navy Pier. Public transportation stops across the street from the theater. more

Expensive 6/18/2006

I went here last night to watch the Da Vinci Code. Man, was this place expensive. Tickets were $9.50, concessions were crazy overpriced, and I paid thirteen dollars just for parking. That was one expensive movie. The theater was nice. I think the location is what allows this place to charge so much. The theater was just like any other. Nice big screen, comfy seating, and a good sound system. The theater was nicely kept and clean. more

Expensive 5/31/2006

This is one of my favorite theatres. It is real big and nice. The concession stand is real nice. I love the nachos here and the huge candy boxes. But they are a bit expensive. AMC plays all the new releases. However, I do not go here very much. Not only are the movie ticket prices real high but I also have to pay for parking when I go here! It can end up being a real rip off. I would rather go elsewhere to watch a movie; I would rather even rent one. more

21 Screens 5/27/2006

This place is huge. It is still kind of a new theater as well, and so it has that new feel to it. The prices are comparable on tickets and the concession stand. The thing that makes this place great is how clean it is. I can't stand going into some of these theaters and it feels as if they only clean one a week. This is a good place to catch a movie. more

Nice theatre 5/18/2006

I dont go here much. The movie theatre is nice and they play all the new movies here. But the tickets are real expensive..especially if you go for a night show. Plus you have to pay for parking. It ends up costing a lot. Other than that, the theatres clean and fun to be in. Its a nice place to go and watch a movie! more

You pay for what you get here. This theater is safely a bit better than the ones around it. You might pay a little more than the average, but you will enjoy your experience. It is nice to feel like you are walking into a clean place. I hate walking through theaters and dealing with sticky floors. I haven't had any problems here and will safely recommend it. more

Expensive theater 4/26/2006

This theater is a bit expensive for our budget, so we save it mostly for special occassions. You have to pay over 9 dollars per ticket and also for parking. But it really is a beautiful theater, with large screens and comfy seating. Its located in a very posh area, right along the lakefront and neighboring navy pier. They are always playing plenty of movies and they have all the new releases, even the smaller movies that are hard to find at other theaters. While it is a bit expensive, it is always an enjoyable experience. more

Clean, comfortable, lots of choices, but expensive 4/16/2006

I like the AMC River East 21 mostly for the 21 screens and all the choices you have to see a movie. I dislike it because of the $9.75 ticket price and that it put out of business the old McClurg theater. But, it has stadium seating and very comfortable seats and is very clean. I've seen several movies here and have enjoyed every experience. more

Great Theater 3/19/2006

I really like AMC River East 21 because it's a huge theater with many screens, and they have stadium seating - a must in my opinion. They also have an extensive concessions stand that includes the usual offerings, such as popcorn, to more interesting items, like chicken fingers. They show a good selection of movies, so you can always find something to watch at this theater. more

Great Movie Place 3/17/2006

Okay the prices are a little high but this place is awesome. My sister and I go here all the time to watch movies because of its location and also because we recently became AMC members (which was totally free) and get 50 cents off combos. Plus every time we buy a ticket we get two free points on our member card to go towards free stuff. Ie tickets. more

This is a great theater downtown. It is a bit expensive, but I think you really do get what you pay for, The theater is set up really nicely, with comfortable seating, a great sound system, and a huge screen. The crowd here is also great, very respectful and they make the movie enjoyable. They play lots of movies here and at lots of different timings, Parking here is kind of hard to find and you'lll have to pay for it, so use public transportation if you can. more

Catch a movie 2/17/2006

AMC River East is probably one of my favorite places to catch a movie. Even though the price is outrageous ($9.50) my sister and I signed up for their "Movie Watcher" program (it's free). We get 2 points for every ticket we buy and for every five tickets we get some kind of reward (free popcorn, drinks, tickets). So it makes it worth our while. I love the Captain chair seating (no worrying about the person in front of you) and the selection of available shows. more

Downtown Theatre 9/6/2005

The AMC River East Theatre is the best downtown. All of the screens have stadium seating so the view of the screen is unobstructed by people sitting in front of you. The seats are large and comfortable and the armrests lift up. Parking is available in the same building as the theatre and is $6 with the theatre's validation. The popcorn butter and salt are self-serve. The ticket prices and snack prices are comparable with other theatres in the area. more

AMC River East 8/9/2005

Just minutes from Navy Pier and downtown. AMC River East is the multiplex theatre that houses 21 screens. The spacious lobby (great as a meeting space) is a full 2 levels above the street, with huge glass windows facing the street. At least 4 bus lines pass by, parking is available. Great location. Plays all the recent movies and has great theatres with great seating and sound. Very new...lovely. more

Theatre on the lakefront! 8/5/2005

Just 10 mins. from Navy Pier is the multiplex theatre that houses 21 screens. The spacious lobby (great as a meeting space) is a full 2 levels above the street, the walls adorned with famous characters from big movies. At $9.75 a pop, not quite a bargain, but the stadium seating is fabulous! At least 4 bus lines pass by, and if you're willing to part with a small fortune, parking is available. Best part is walking out and heading to Navy Pier for a stroll in the summers. more
