A & I Trash Disposal

We had used A & I for almost 5 yrs. Over the last year trash pickup seemed to be a day late here or there. Then in June it was like they ran when they wanted to and all of a sudden they quit picking up ""we just had paid for 3months of service"". After numerous calls that were never returned we finally found out that a few of his trucks had gotten repoed. Then they decided to cut out our area all together. They sure don't mind cashing those checks where people prepaid at their request for trash service. A lot of people had paid up for a year. I personally hope he looses every truck he has and has to completely shut down. A completely dirty business practice. We now use Welch's trash pickup which have been excellent. Everyone who had A & I should band together and file a complaint with the company and petition them for full refunds of the money they stole, maybe he should even face jail time for stealing!!!! more

A&I was contracted to pick up garbage at a residential apartment complex for us, in June they ask me to start pre-paying, therefor I paid them June and July in advance. They never returned to the complex to pick up the garbage! I called the number that i had always used to contact them, they would never answer. I called from my cell phone and they then answered, when I ask why they were no longer picking up the garbage she advised me the Kingsport area was just not making money so they dropped it. When I ask her why they couldn't have notified me of this before the dumpster was overflowing she had no answer. When I ask her for refund she said i would have to call the owner. I did just that, but was told by him I would have to call his son who handled Kingsport. When I called the son NO ANSWER. Left me with 3 weeks worth of garbage in an apartment complex and did not get my money back yet! Stay away from this company. more

A and i dropped our route without notice! the last timeour trash was picked up by them was on june 27th and allied waste showd up june the 14th and hasnt shown back up either! A and i NEVER returns calls and RARELY answers the phone! you never know when they are going to show up when thereis a holiday. Never a note in the mail or a call about an altered schedule or anything. They have taken alot of peoples money that they dropped as customers wthout notice. some people were paid ahead . somebody is sure in the office to cash customers checks when they are mailed in but NOT to answer or return your calls! more

Had service for years and suddenly they stopped service without notifying any of their customers. noticed they hadn't done their job that they were paid to do and pick up our garbage for over 3 wks. Wasn't too concerned because they were consistently late picking up our garbage. Called and was told that they didn't cover this area for garbage pick-up due to Bloomingdale being ""too much trouble"". I had paid in advance and was wanting a refund so the lady gave me another number; called the newer number and couldn't get a hold of anybody. Tried the older number again and they didn't pick up! Waited until the next day and was able to get a hold of someone but when I mentioned the refund the call was ""disconnected"". Tried calling again and no one answered. Called the next day and the man said that he was out and could not look at my account but he would give me a call later that day, which he did not. Called them yet again and he started raising his voice and yelling @ me over the phone saying ""no I didn't say I was going to call you back!"" and went on to complain of the area being a problem! I reassured him not to be defensive because I was just wanting him and I both to be on the same page about receiving the correct amount of refund. He had to call the lady who was keeping the accounts and called me back and kept on complaining of the area and that's why he had to drop business in the area. In summary: -SUCKY SERVICE! -INCONSIDERATE -UNPROFESSIONAL -SURPRISED THEY ARE STILL IN BUSINESS!! more

My family & I had been with A & I Trash Disposal for years. Two weeks ago they didn't pick up. They usually had trucks break down,so I was annoyed,but not too concerned. I kept calling & got no answer . Finally today they said that they no longer serviced my area. We were left with three weeks worth of garbage & not sure of what to do with it. How hard would it have been to send out a notice in the mail or place a message on their machine telling their customers that they would no longer be servicing their area ?! Called Harley's Hauling Service & thankfully they picked it all up for us. Even if A&I still services your area. I would STRONGLY CAUTION doing business with them. They are unreliable and untrustworthy! I am telling everyone I know and going on every local web forum to warn people about this poor excuse for a business ! more

We have been using them as or trash disposal company for a long time. All of a sudden, without notice, they don't pick up anyone's trash now for three weeks. After finally getting them to answer the phone, we find out taht some people on some route were not paying, so they decided to combine routes and stop other routes ( ours and our neibours, and our daughter's trash on another street. Was told that Allied Waste would abe taking these routes. Before we knew that Allied was taking over, they came to our street Saturday and pick up one of three customers trash - we were one of the two they missed. A & I should have notified us of the change. We now don't know when Allied is going to pick up. I am very upset with A & I - we have always paid in advance and on time. more
