I had my car towed into this Midas a couple weeks ago because my car would not start. I thought it might have something to do with that fact that, about a week before, I got a new cadalytic converter and oxygen sensors on my car at a different Midas. When my car was diagnosed, they told me the problem was my fuel pump. I was shocked by this for a couple of reasons. First, when my car was being checked out a week before, there was nothing wrong with the fuel pump and second, because I had gotten a new fuel pump about a year ago and found it hard to believe I needed a new one already. Unfortunately, though, I was unable to take it to another shop for a second opinion because it was unable to start and I didn't have the money to tow it somewhere else. So, about $800 later, the car was "fixed" so I drove it home. A mere nine days after having the fuel pump replaced, I stopped to get gas for the first time since I got my fuel pump changed. When I went to start my car after filling up my tank, it died exactly like right before I got my pump changed. So, I called the Midas near me (in Corona, since I was up there completing training for work) and had the car towed in. They told me there was nothing wrong with the fuel pump and that my car's internal computer's security system had a glitch and I would have to take it to a dealer to get it reprogrammed. When I called my dealer, they said this would cost me about $800. I haven't been able to take my car to a dealer yet and won't be able to for a while because I first will need to pay back the $1,800 I had spent at Midas in under a three week time period. The dealer at the Midas in Corona did get my car started, but then after I got gas for a second time, my check engine light came on. This experience led me to believe one of two things happened: First, that Midas screwed up my fuel pump and can't fix it. Or, that my car never needed a fuel pump in the first place - the security system was the problem all along and Midas just changed my fuel pump to make money. I have contacted their corporate office in this matter and can tell you Midas offers the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. And another warning to anyone who may still want to go to this Midas despite my bad experience: Whatever you do, do NOT leave anything valuable in your car. After I paid for the fuel pump and went out to my car, the door had not been closed all the way and anyone could have come up to it and swiped my GPS and other belongings. I also want to mention that my car is a 2003 and has been taken care of, so it's not like I've been pouring money into a clunker. Pros: None Cons: They screw up your car, bad service
