Businiess name:  The Hot Dog Shop

Review content:
Let's be realistic, if you came to the Hot Dog Shop you're most likely didn't google ""Gourmet Hot Dogs of Houston"". So, if you show up expecting this to be a place to bring your kids or your churchgoing parents or grandparents, you've made an odd decision.\r \r Upon first approach, it looks like a dive. Would you like to know why it looks like a dive? It is a dive. It has a mild odor of sewage, especially if you walk around the East side of the building to get to the front door. It's awful, really. But that's okay - as soon as you get inside the sewage smell is gone and now it smells more like your grandma's house might... that is, if your grandma lived in the same house for 30 years and smoked inside the entire time. I think smoking is only allowed past the divider between the kitchen area and the bar area - but that divider is really just 2 large open double doorways. \r \r This might look like a bad review but it's really not. I love the place. I'm not huge on the hot dogs, but I just think it's tough to really distinguish a hot dog from any other hot dog - I feel the same way about wine. The barbeque baked potato is my go-to, and it's always ready in about 2 minutes and piping hot. I like beer a lot, too. The atmosphere in the bar room is just what it should be - kind of an old country saloon... if you ever went to Blanco's in the old days, I'd say this is pretty reminiscent of that. Good stuff.\r \r I originally came her with a bunch of buddies who worked on rigs and had shops out there, so that's the kind of clinetele you should be expecting why you show up. Depending on the day, there might be lingerie girls walking around or shuffle board tournaments. \r \r So... in summary... it's pretty terrific and one of the only bars in this part of town that I feel this way about.
