Steer clear of proteins here -- undercooked shrimp, overcooked fish. The fish doesn't taste fresh and arrives fried (surprise! they don't tell you it's fried) to the point of stiffness and smothered in an overly sweet, cloying sauce. Vegetables are also covered in goo -- there's no escaping it here. Pad Thai is a better option, but stay away unless you're in the mood for a very heavy, goopy dish -- the tiny slice of dried out old lime doesn't go far enough to cut through the glop. Absent are the distinct, pungent Thai flavors that pop on your tongue when melded with fresh ingredients (also absent). This was more like cheap Chinese take-out. Plates and glasses were not the cleanest -- I was afraid to touch the water, and a stream of sunlight illuminated the fingerprints, crust and smudges on plates sitting atop a whole row of tables (including mine). It's too bad...service is friendly enough and they did a nice job renovating -- exposed brick, red and gold tones and wood tables create a warm, comfortable interior -- but this was my second visit and I don't think I'll be back. Pros: Looks nice inside Cons: Heavy sauces ruined food, less-than-fresh ingredients, less-than-clean place settings
